Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 97

Chapter 97

Luca’s POV

“Huh?” He asked and I shook my head immediately and placed my hand on his shoulder. He was

almost as tall as I was and not as short as the bodyguard of Ivan and his cousin, so it wasn’t all that

comfortable for me to place my hand on there, but I left it there anyways.

“Nothing, man.” I said to him before nodding my head towards the side of the house.

“Let’s go inside.”

“What about your little wife? Sofia right?” He started to ask and I felt everything pause in my head at

the mention of her name, because in the very next second, different images of her face and those blue

eyes of hers were flooding every corner of my head and mind, all at once.

“She wouldn’t mind, don’t worry about her.” I said to him, hoping she’d have fallen asleep already,

because I obviously hadn’t thought about how it was going to be between the both of us and James in

the same room, when I had suggested James come home with me.

He nodded his head at me before wrinkling his nose a little and rolling the suit jacket on top of his other

arm as we started to walk towards the house. Two steps forward and he was already speaking again.

“Oh man, now that I think about it, I have missed Sarah.” He breathed out and I laughed heartedly as

we closed the distance from where we had been previously standing for a long while, to where the

house was located.

“Of course you do.” I murmured quietly and he nodded his head immediately before starting to speak

once again. “I remember the day we got into a scuff with some guys from the Bloom Mafia, and she

helped stitch my wound while I stitched up yours because you didn’t let her anywhere near yours.”

James mused aloud and my mind started to travel back into time, remembering those times when I had

just become the official mafia lord and it had been a bit weird for me to adapt into that full lifestyle at

first.

That was why James and I had to be together a whole lot then, whereby we’d do almost every

goddamn thing together because I needed his help the same way he had needed my help. And those

times weren’t like the way things are right now whereby I was extremely popular and a whole lot of

people were scared of me without even meeting me in person, or having any kind of encounter with

me– back then, immediately after I had become the mafia lord, people had hoped and thought they

were going to be able to walk over me.

But because of the kind of person I naturally was, it made that almost impossible from the very start of

everything, and as times went by, the people who’d come ambush James and I started to reduce

compared to the very beginning, and the need to come over and come get our wounds cleaned out by

Sarah slowly reduced.

As time went by, it slowly completely stopped seeing as we’ve already started to make a name for

ourselves here in Italy, which I was grateful for… only that, that hadn’t been one bit easy to achieve.

“I just know she’d have missed you so much as well,” I said to James and felt him nod his head beside

mine and we both fell silent. I glanced around the compound and sighted a few guards in almost every

nook of the compound, the way it was actually supposed to be.

The bright lights which was situated on different spots on different parts of the wall shown brightly in the

compound, illuminating the whole place that it was easy as fuck to see any thing you’d want to see in

here at this very moment.

“She asked you about me?” I heard James start to ask and I turned my head around to stare at him

before a small snort escaped my lips as I shook my head at him.

“She didn’t, she hadn’t.” I replied to him and watched as he stared at me for a few seconds before

shaking his head at me and rolling his eyes. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

“That’s probably because she didn’t know how she was going to ask you about me, and not because

she hadn’t thought of me one bit.” He replied to me with another eye roll and I snorted at him once

again before pulling my arm away from his shoulder to climb up the first stair, and turned my head

around to stare at him as he did the same as soon as I got to the second stair.

“What makes you think so? What makes you think she even still remembers what you look like?” I

demanded with a small chuckle as I got to the top of the stair and turned around to watch as James did

the same in the very next second.

“Because she has a crush on me, that’s how I know.” He replied and I breathed out a laugh and a snort

at the same time, resisting the urge to run my fingers through my hair at that moment when my fingers

started to feel prickly.

“How do you know that? Bozo.”

“I just do.” He replied and I rolled my eyes at him as I stepped forward until I was standing at the front

of the door.

“You’re extremely wrong, she sees you as a child of hers.” I informed him as I fished out the set of keys

which I always carry around with me, wherever I go.

“Oh, man, she doesn’t. She sees me as a young boy she’d like to–” I turned around and held a finger

up in his face before he could complete his sentence, staring at him daringly, as a warning slipped out

my lips.

“Don’t you dare complete that sentence, you pervert.”

I watched as a small chuckle played out at the edges of his lips, as well as a tiny eye roll before he

started to speak, while reaching up for my finger thigh was still raised up in his face, and wrapping his

hand around my wrist to tug my hand down and away from the front of his face, in the next second.

“I wasn’t planning on completing tbe sentence in Ynr first place after all, I just wanted to ruffle your

feathers up a little.” He murmured and I rolled my eyes before reaching out my right here and using it to

shove tne middle of his chest hard. His eyes widened and he stumbled for a fleeting second before I

reached out and steadied him with a firm grip on his shoulder.

“Thanks man.” He murmured and I nodded my head at him before turning around and inserting this

particular door's key into its keyhole before turning it around until the door opened. I pulled on the door

knob and made my way inside, turning around to watch as James stepped into the house and pulled

the door into place, after tugging the keys out from the door and using it to lock the door from the inside

– he also didn’t pull the keys out of the door, like it was actually supposed to be done.

I made my way deeper into the house and stopped once I got to the first hallway. I sinked into one of

the iron chairs there and started to take my shoes off. I glanced sideways and noticed James doing the

same, leaving him in a pair of dark socks, but I had taken my socks off as well, inserting it into my

shoes and placing the pair of shoes on the sides of the hallway, on a mat.

I pushed myself to my feet and started to make my way towards the kitchen, with James slowly trailing

after me. I tugged out my phone from my pocket and raised it up, watching as the bright lights on the

roof of the house showed on my face immediately, and it made it really easy for the face identification

scanner on my phone to scan my phone immediately, and the phone got opened automatically in the

next second.

My eyes quickly went to the top left side of the phone and zeroed in on the time. It was some minutes

past ten in the night. I pulled down the notifications bar and the side of my lips moved from side to side

as I watched as the notifications just kept lengthening as the seconds slowly went by. I turned my head

around and held my phone up while staring at James who was currently staring at the wall, at dole or

the arts which were on the wall.

“Man, do you get thousands of notifications on your phone every damn time?” I demanded and

watched as James dragged his eyes off the wall and pointed his index finger at the whole empty other

side of tne wall, compared to the other side of the wall which was exactly opposite it, before starting to

speak.
