Chapter 12
Sofia Andrew
Has Angel finally gone crazy, or what is his problem?
"Sofia, are you okay?" Carmen asked when I came down.
"Yes, I am just upset with your boss. How dare he tell me what to do?"
"Maybe he's just worried about you."
"Worried my foot! Let him worry about his girlfriend because I don't believe that he's worried about me. No!"
I left the house and saw John, one of Angel's men. "Where is my car?"
"Madam, the boss told us that you cannot leave the house."
"What the hell?! Now he decided to care about my business?!"
I angrily took my phone from my bag to call a taxi.
"Madam, please remember what happened in the hospital!" John shouted after me.
"Tell your boss to take care of himself, and he doesn't need to care about me."
"Sofia!" Carmen called me. "Wait for me, and I'll go with you."
"No! I won't let that man dictate my life. Why did he not do it when we were still together?"
"But you need to understand...
"I don't want to understand, Carmen. Why did I have to be the one to adjust every time? I'll go now. Goodbye."
Half an hour passed, and I arrived at my apartment to take a bath. I am still fuming because of Angel. Why did I have to be so weak? I shouldn't have cried in front of him and said those things to him. Well, at least I didn't tell him why I agreed on marriage and thought he liked me too. I'm such an idiot. How could I let my feelings get the better of me?
When I came out of the bathroom, I got a phone call from Sandra. "Hello?"
"Ma'am, Mr. Harry from Autos-Let is here, and he's asking for an appointment in person."
I groaned in frustration. "God. They are so persistent. Tell him I am out of the country."
"He told me that he won't leave until he gets an appointment."
"Tell him to call tomorrow for it," I said, devastated.
"And if he refuses?"
"Tell him that he has our word, and he'll get that appointment tomorrow."
I cut the call, and I just don't understand what they want. After five years of marriage, he has treated me like a stranger, so what does he want?
My phone rang again, and I answered it. "Amelia,"
"I am fine, thank you. What happened?"
"Amelia, you have no idea what happened."
"No, and that is the reason why I called, but I guess what happened isn't pretty."
"That jerk tried to abuse me, and if it weren't for Angel..."
She cuts me off. "Wait, Angel? What does he have to do with this?"
"I was in the restaurant with that jerk, and he tried to force me to come with him, but Angel came, and he almost beat him to death."
Amelia gasped a little. "Oh, really? Is it Angel we are talking about?"
"The only one. I swear, he behaved like a gentleman when he defended me."This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
""I don't believe you," she exclaimed in disbelief.
"Neither am I, Amelia; I almost did not recognize him."
"He defended you, but didn't he hate you?"
"That's what I was thinking too, but he's been acting strange lately."
"Okay, wait. Let's talk in the company later."
"Okay, I'll be at Lee Andrew's. I need to check some things."
"I'll see you there, but you need to tell me everything."
"Yes, whatever you want."
Half an hour passed, and I was in Lee Andrew's checking the fabrics and the incoming orders. A few more hours later, Amelia arrived for the interrogation.
"Okay, what happened? What did Angel do? How did he end up almost killing Alexis? Did you sleep with him?" She asked simultaneously with excitement.
"You would be surprised. He... I don't know. He just came out of nowhere and beat him. And no, I did not sleep with him," I said, and the last sentence sounded defensive.
"It means you are still a virgin. Oh, Sofia!" Amelia exclaimed in disappointment.
"I was telling you that I was almost molested and Angel almost killed him, and yet..." I trailed off and shook my head.
"Nothing. I didn't say anything," Amelia said innocently.
"That man put something on my drink, and Angel saw him and followed us to the parking lot. Angel lost his mind and almost beat him-oh God, he was scary."
"And?" she pressed, her eyes wide with excitement.
"My sugar decided to act up, and I ended up in the hospital. According to the nurse, Angel acted like a good husband and even threatened the doctor to take care of me. Can you believe that?" "Yes, actually. You were married for five years. It would be strange if he did not care for you."
"He forbade me to go out earlier so I could rest, and do you know what he told me?"
"No."
"He told me to show him who Elisa is and that she lied."
"And did you tell him?"
""Of course, I didn't tell him that."
Amelia groaned in frustration. "What are you waiting for, Sofia?"
"That woman apparently made him believe that I was the one to blame for the death of his child."
Her eyes widened in surprise. "What?"
"Yes, do you remember what I told you about the graduation party about what he told me?"
"About your marriage?"
"Yes. That witch told him that I drugged him and set him up to make it look like he's cheating on Elisa."
"The bitch did what?!"
"She planned it all."
"Oh, that miserable woman!" Amelia exclaimed in anger.
"Do you know what's worse? That angel believed that I could do something like that," I said with a sad smile.
"That son of a... what else did she do?"
"She hired someone to take pictures of us and sent them to Angel. to make him believe that something happened between us."
Amelia was flabbergasted, and she slowly clapped. "Just like a soap opera."
"That isn't even the worst part of the story. She told him that she couldn't take his cheating and that she had a miscarriage." "Was she really even pregnant?"
"I wouldn't know, Amelia. Considering her reputation, even if she was, I don't think she'll even know who the father was." "That woman is the worst. Angel told you all this?"
"No, Elisa did. She came to my office to insult and make fun of me. I still don't get how Angel can't see how terrible she was."
"Men are blind when they are in love. What I don't understand is why did he tell you to prove to him that she's lying?"
"When we're done arguing, he told me that. That he's willing to hear my side for the first time."
"I don't understand."
"I swear he's been acting strange. He cares about what time I get home, who I'm with, how I dress, what I'm doing, or if I'm eating well. He even forbade me from going outside. Now that I think about it, I can't figure out what he's doing." "Maybe he likes you now. You know? That saying, 'You don't know what you have until it's gone'? He's losing you, so he's changing."
"Really, Amelia? For five years, that man never bothered to ask things about me like he does now. Nothing."
"You never know, friend. Maybe he's always cared about those things because he knows you're not like the other girls. Remember that Elisa has been brainwashing him."
