Fool me once, fool me twice

Cayden

“How the hell did you figure that out?” She smiled and said;

“I was going through the pictures I snapped that night at the dinner, and I saw something like looked like her shadow. So, I zoomed in and saw that it was her, the crazy lady raising her voice at everyone. So local”

Shit! This was a big mess up. Knowing her, I knew she was going to report or do anything to probably sabotage and take over this job for me. I had to find a solution quickly.

“What do you what?” She walked majestically to sit down, crossing her leg.

“I want you all to myself Cayden. You’d have to stop seeing Lily or any of that nonsense. We suit each other. I’m well accomplished and so are you. I mean. Just look at all these Cayden ” She stretched her arms around the house, pointing at every corner, “we could have all of these together. And I’ve gotten quite acquainted with the house. Let’s just keep this good thing that we’ve got going on. ”

I felt so disgusted by her all of a sudden. She had no self-worth, was willing to sell herself to me, no shame. There was no difference between her and the other girls that I usually had a nightstand with. But I decided to go with the plan just for now.

Lily

“Where were you last night, Lily?” Nana asked me, following me into my room as I tried to take off my clothes.

“There’s no big deal Nana, I don’t want to talk about it please” She looked really worried. I do not enjoy writing her off like this but the detail wasn’t even important, she didn’t need to know.

“I’m just worried about you baby, don’t want you to get hurt. And I need you to know that you can always talk to me”

I sat in my bathtub filled with water and just sank in, replaying everything that’d happened in the past few hours. I could still feel the touch of Cayden’s hands on my body; from my face to my neck to my chest and in between my thighs. I wanted to be in that moment again.

My stomach growled and I came back to reality; the reality with no current action, sigh. I quickly showered and went to fill my tummy with some food.

“We couldn’t cook last night baby, we just had pizza. There’s some left in the fridge, just microwave it” Ugh! No actual food? Dang, it! I didn’t have a choice anyway, had to heat the pizza anyway. I’ll just step out and get some groceries afterwards.

Nana had a thing for romance films. She had this movie, “me before you” It seemed very interesting but I’m not really into romance films. I sat with her to watch it anyway. I barely spent time with her. I knew she was happy to have me around.

I got to the grocery store not so far away from the house, just about a few blocks. The store had a wide neon sign out front, there was a receptionist at the entrance to my right. I picked up a cart and moved in. They had sections for everything; meat, processed and unprocessed goods snacks, toiletries, foodstuff, confectioneries and the like. It was a pretty big shop.

By the time I was done, my cart was full. I went over to the cashier and paid. Stepping out, I saw Cayden. I was so happy to see him. I went over to hug him

“Hey, Cayden..”

“Nope, we’re not doing that… Can’t be close to you”

“What do you mean can’t be close to you?”

“Just stay away, please”

He walked out on me like I was nothing. Did Cayden just ignore me?

I walked back home and tried to act like that didn’t just happen, it wasn’t easy. I dropped off the groceries with Nana leaving her to arrange them and went back to the shop to distract myself from work but it didn’t work. Nana must have noticed that I left in a hurry but she didn’t ask because I wasn’t going to answer.

A few minutes later, Cayden walked into the shop and sat down at a chair close to the door with his friend, I was shocked. Before now, he’d normally come to the counter and ask after me and ask that I be the one to serve him but he looked all gloomy like he didn’t care and like he forgot that he just stepped into my shop. I tried so hard to reach him but it was not working, so many customers were coming in and out and the lady was with him. She didn’t even let him look my way. Her phone rang shortly, so she was distracted for a bit and got up to answer it in a less noisy place…

“Cayden please let me talk to you outside,” I said quickly passing the message and I walked past him, heading outside. He followed me.

“Hey, what’s happening? Did I do something wrong? Or is there anything going on with you? Please let me know I don’t like this distance”

He looked sorry like he was about to apologize but then the bitch came and before I knew it, the words I heard coming out from Cayden’s month were;

“I don’t ever want to have anything to do with you, Lily. We’re not meant for each other and whatever you thought was going on simply can’t work! Do you hear that? We can’t work and I can never be with you, you’re simply not my type. You should go find some dude out in the streets or anywhere else, just not me”

The lady seemed happy, she was all smiles. He took her by the hand and walked away, in my presence!!!

Cayden just fucking played with my feelings and dumped me!!!
