Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 259

Chapter 259

Cordelia barely paid attention to his words, offering only a noncommittal "oh" in response.

After breezing through breakfast, caught up in the world of algebra, Cordelia stood up, grabbed her backpack, and headed out. At the school gates, she ran into Yates and handed him the problems she'd prepared for him the night before. "You don't pay attention in class anyway, so you might as well spend the morning working on these. We'll review them over lunch, and I'll find some time in the afternoon to go over the ones you struggle with." Yates took the papers, nodding in agreement.

"Don't guess the answers if you don't know them. Leave them blank," Cordelia advised before they parted ways to their respective classrooms.

With math problems on her mind even during class, Cordelia sneakily substituted a math textbook cover onto a novel from the "Little Parrot" series and read it openly as if she were following along with the literature class.

Come lunchtime, she and Yates headed to the cafeteria together, and the "Flame Union" gang took seats next to her, deterring any other students from approaching.

Whispers circulated among those who'd heard rumors from home. "Is she really distancing herself from that pretty boy, getting involved with the Griffin family? Looks like the Delaney family is scared of Bill now!"

Cordelia chose to ignore the murmurs.

In the afternoon, after reviewing the half-completed problems Yates returned, Cordelia felt a headache coming on.

"Little Flame's" foundation was even worse than "Little Parrot's"!

After an art exam, "Little Parrot" had a real shot at getting into the Ontoky City Film and Animation Academy, but "Little Flame's" basics... With only half a year left, it seemed nearly impossible.

Still, as long as "Little Flame" was willing to try, she wouldn't give up on him.

At "Midnight Scent," Cordelia, lost in her problems after breakfast, ignored Everard as usual, something he'd grown accustomed to. Despite spending over a month together in the EW Club, their interactions were minimal, both preoccupied with their own activities. Bill Robinson cleaned up the table while Everard opened his social media to check in on a fan page, liking posts about him and Cordelia. Bill caught a glimpse of Everard's phone and saw the nickname he'd been given: "Study Buff."

Bill Robinson: "..."

Could you be any more shameless?

As Everard idly scrolled through posts, the door opened, and in walked Sanderson.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Bill, having already familiarized himself with Greenmeadow's social dynamics, was quick to greet warmly, "Mr. Delaney, please come in!"

To everyone's surprise, even the usually aloof boss stood up to welcome him, respectfully calling him "Uncle."

Bill Robinson: ??

Had his boss been possessed?

Seeing Sanderson, Everard thought of his father's shrewd business acumen mixed with a scholar's elegance, which made him quite endearing. He humbly responded to Sanderson's job offer at Delaney Corp, pretending as if he were worried about causing any inconvenience. Bill Robinson: ??

His boss's sudden transformation into a meek persona was almost too much to bear.

Sanderson, touched by Everard's demeanor, insisted on taking him under his wing, refusing to let the Griffin family's influence deter them.

Bill, feeling like a wronged housewife, couldn't believe Everard's act.

How could the man who despised the idea of working in Fortuna Group, seeing it as a hassle, now play the innocent?

As Sanderson and Everard set off for Delaney Corp, Bill sighed. The thought of Everard, who found even the simplest tasks tedious, joining the workforce seemed utterly improbable.

But no sooner had the thought crossed his mind, Everard hesitated for just a fraction of a second before agreeing obediently, "Alright."

Bill: ?????

During study hall, Cordelia and Yates requested a leave of absence from school.

The school and Latham were both pleasantly surprised by Yates's sudden dedication to his studies,

ready

especially since Cordelia had secured early admission to Superiority College, meaning she didn't have to sit the SATs. Having her tutor seemed like the perfect arrangement to everyone.

Cordelia's approach to tutoring was straightforward. She simply went over the key concepts with Yates and then encouraged him to practice on his

own.

After all, there's a reason high school teachers insist on practice problems.

By the end of the day, as Yates left the study hall with a backpack full of homework Cordelia had assigned him, the members of Flame No.1 were both stunned and baffled to see his bag finally filled to the brim.

Meanwhile, Cordelia had already gotten into the Delaney family's car to head home, still poring over the math problems she had borrowed.

Once home, she planned to finish reviewing so she could tackle more complex problems the next day. However, as soon as she entered the house, she found Laurinda sitting there, an air of entitlement about her "Your father's birthday is coming up in a few days, and of course, we're planning a grand cetebration. Your father and talked it over and, knowing how fond you

are of that pretty boy Bill, we figured asking you to give him up was out of the question. So, we've taken the liberty of inviting Bill to the birthday dinner through the Griffin family's connections, hoping to make amends. We'll have the young man lower his pride a bit, say a few sweet nothings to smooth things over."

"Look at the trouble your father and I have saved you from. I heard you have an emerald gemstone, right? Consider it a loan for the day; wear into the dinner. We can't Kave

Bill over without me having
