Chapter Four
Lisa’s POV
As we got into the classroom, I placed my bag on my lap and emptied all my books into the desk. I couldn’t be more happier to be back at the Academy. I had almost lost all hopes when my adopted parents prevented me from going the previous day.
I couldn’t be more grateful to Zoe for helping me out yesterday, I just couldn’t be. I would have been in real trouble if I had not kept the whole house clean. I was glad that her aunt and her friends helped me do it. They also contributed in helping me escape punishment.
Well, I still had a little punishment because they mistakenly mixed two of Aunt Linda’s favorite clothes and it ruined some of the dresses. I forgot to warn them sooner about the clothes. It wasn’t their fault though.
“What happened last night? Hope everything went well?” Zoe asked me as she pulled a seat and sat down next to me.
A huge smile plastered on my face. “Thanks to you, everything went well. You all really saved my life yesterday, I don’t know what those monsters would have done to me if I had not finished everything on that to-do list.”
She chuckled softly. “We all had a hard time helping but it was worth it. Are those people unkempt?”
I didn’t think so, I just felt they did all that to prevent me from attending the masquerade ball. They’ve done it before and they succeeded because I didn’t feel the need to go again that year.
“Maybe a little, they only do these things to provoke me. Those people do not even care about me.” I answered.
Megan walked into the classroom and stared at us for a long time before occupying her seat at the other end of the class. She probably thought we were having a discussion about her so she stood up and walked towards us.
“Gossiping about me, right? I’m your only content in life so what do I expect?”
She insulted, waiting for a reply but I wasn’t going to let her derive satisfaction from that. I was never going to make her happy that I came down low to her level. The best thing was to ignore her.
After seeing I wasn’t going to say anything, she left the class embarrassed. She had just ruined everything for herself. “She’s so childish, how do you even cope with these kinds of people? I could never cope, I would have taught a few lessons or two. God knows I’m very stubborn.”
Zoe was right, she was actually really stubborn and strong. I could still remember the day she fought with one of the biggest school bullies out of the school’s gate. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
“What am I going to do when I don’t have anywhere else to go? I can’t leave them because they’ll possibly send me to jail and make my life a living hell. I was just going to stay with them and be myself, trying hard not to get into any trouble.
We both talked for a long time and she asked me why I left the masquerade ball after dancing with the Prince. She claimed it was aired on TV and she watched it. I explained everything to her and she understood the reason why I couldn’t wait again.
If I had stayed one more minute there, I probably wouldn’t get there on time and I would have been in trouble. I could have been grounded for more than a week and I would have missed class.
“Have you heard that the Prince might be in need for a sex slave?”
I was surprised.
I had always known him to be responsible. Why would he need a sex slave? He should be getting married to someone and not looking for a sex slave. It wasn’t going to work like that.
“A sex slave? How did you know this?”
She shrugged and made sure no one was listening before leaning a little bit closer to me. “I have someone there who told me. The prince is not as responsible and civilized as everyone thinks,”
This was an opportunity to meet him but I wasn’t going to be a sex slave to anyone. I wouldn’t let anyone treat me like trash, especially the prince.
“Where’s your neckline?” She questioned, changing the topic when she discovered I had nothing to say about the sex slave issue. I was still shocked about it.
My neckline? I checked my neck and it wasn’t there. How was I able not to know that I misplaced it?
Where and when did I misplace my neckline? It was a gift from my late mom and I never wanted to lose it, I was really devastated.
“I don’t know, I think I’ve misplaced it.”
“But where?”
I was confused as I looked round the floor and couldn’t find anything. “I don’t even know where it got lost, I hope I find it soon. That neckline is so precious to me.”
Tony came, he was my male best friend who stood by me when I got into the Academy the first time. I could still remember that I was bullied severely until he began standing up for me.
“Hey girls, what are you guys discussing about?” He asked, he had no expression.
Zoe was blunt. “Sex slaves! The prince is planning to buy a sex slave and I’ve heard rumors that a student from this Academy would be sold to him.”
A student from this school? Who could that be? No one even came to my mind because I didn’t know which parents would let their child become a sex slave for the Prince.
“Why do I have a feeling it’s going to be you?” Tony’s words sent shivers down my spine. Why didn’t I think of that? I silently hoped I wasn’t going to be the one. I couldn’t quit school just to be a man’s sex slave, it just wasn’t right.
And I knew Megan’s family still needed me, I had a strong doubt they would sell me to the prince. It wasn’t going to happen.
“I don’t think so, it can’t be me.” I replied, a little bit confident.
