A Relentless Pursuit for Love

Chapter 601

Chapter 601

No, not just a little. He was extremely nervous!

“Kane.”

Laura was also anxious, but she had always been straightforward. She was so used to being with men in the military that she would just say anything on her mind.

She mustered her courage and looked up at Kane. Her heart thudded loudly inside her chest at his handsome face and deep gaze.

“I think you’re pretty good-looking.” Kane was stunned. “You really think so?”

Laura smirked and said, “Yes! I don’t mind having a son like you.”

Kane felt his brain buzzing. ‘I wanted you as my wife, but you see me as your son?’

Kane’s lips twitched. He was about to lash out at her when Laura blurted, “You’re handsome, and I like you very much. Let’s date!”

Kane was confused and at a loss for words at first, but he was stunned when he realized that he had been confessed to!

The situation had gone entirely out of Kane’s control. He heard white noise, and he stood frozen in place for a long time before he could react. Jace sat on the bench by the corridor with his eyes closed as he smiled knowingly. The corridor was not soundproof at all. He did not even have to eavesdrop to be able to hear every single word they had said.

Laura, who was manlier than most men at times, had finally fallen in love.

“Laura, you…”

Kane snapped back to his senses as he slowly shifted from being dumbfounded to ecstatic when a group of men with uniforms walked towards them from the other end of the corridor.

“Miss Laura, the Chief has ordered you to return to Gemfield immediately!”

Sage held onto the phone as she looked at Kane’s anxious face and asked Laura over the phone “You’re going back to Gemfield?”

“Yeah.”

Laura sounded gloomy from the other side of the phone. She said chokingly, “Sage, why does it feel like my relationship has ended before it could even begin?”

How disheartening.

Kane could not contain his anxiousness and wanted to say something before Sage covered his mouth and said, “It won’t.”

“Mmm.”

Kane’s mouth was still blocked by Sage. He hummed as he nodded aggressively.

Laura sighed heavily and said, “I’m going back to Gemfield, and I’ll rest for two days before I have to return to the troop. I’ve gotten too excited these past few days, and I had completely forgotten my role as a soldier. How can a soldier fall in love?” Kane’s eyes widened. He wanted to say something before a stern voice was heard from the other side of the phone.

“Miss Laura, it’s time to depart.”

“Laura!”

Kane struggled out of Sage’s grip and took over the phone, but the phone dropped, and all that was heard was a ‘beep’ before it disconnected. When he tried to dial back the number, the phone had been turned off.

Kane turned pale as he grabbed the phone and ran out of the room. Sage patted Luther and said, “Go with him. Make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid!” Nigel said to Sean, “Luther won’t be able to handle Kane alone. We should follow them.” Seth left earlier because of work. Luther, Nigel, and Sean went to chase after Kane. The hospital room had become empty and quiet all of a sudden. Sage felt her energy drained in an instant. She felt exhausted, like an empty shell. Sage rubbed her temples and heard a knock by the door. She looked up to find Jace standing by the doorway. “Come in.” Jace went inside and asked, “Feeling better?” Sage hummed in response and pointed at the chair next to her. “Sit. Let’s have a talk.”Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
