Chapter 605
Chapter 605
Sage pouted and complained, “I thought time was supposed to pass in a blink of an eye. Why is it passing so excruciatingly slowly now?” “Hey, it’s been an hour!”
Luther felt utterly different. “How did it pass so quickly? I’ve only played two rounds of the
game.”
Sage rolled her eyes and thought, ‘Oh. Life really is unfair.’
Sage could not take it anymore. “Stop playing with your phones. Come talk to me.”
Everyone was immersed in their screens, and none of them bothered to respond.
Since everyone chose to be so heartless, Sage decided to stir the pot.
She raised her brows and asked, “Kane, has Laura talked to you yet?” Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
It was an arrow straight to the heart.
Kane had not been able to put his phone down because he was waiting for Laura to reply. His phone had almost run out of battery, but she did not respond to any of the messages he sent.
“No,” Kane sighed grimly. “Don’t overthink it. Laura isn’t the type to ignore you on purpose. Her family probably took her phone away from her.” Kane replied depressingly, “I know. That’s what I’m afraid of. I don’t mind if she chose to ignore me, but what if my actions had caused her to be grounded by her family?”
Luther placed his phone down and asked, “Kane, did Laura really confess her feelings to you?”
Kane pursed his lips and hummed yes in response.
She did confess her feelings, but Kane did not even get a chance to reciprocate his feelings before she got taken away.
It was fine. Kane had decided by himself that Laura was already his girlfriend.
Nigel said worriedly, “The people who came to pick Laura up today didn’t seem to be ordinary men. Laura’s background must be pretty complicated. Will they even accept you?”
Seth was not present in the afternoon and had no idea what happened, but after hearing the conversation, he more or less understood the situation.
“The Hudson family’s background is pretty worrying. Even though it’s been clarified and they’ve been doing legal business, a typical family might be able to accept it, but a high ranking family on the other hand…”
Kane grimaced coldly.
“Seth, it’s just family here. You can tell the truth.”
Sage said straightforwardly, “You must’ve already known what kind of family Laura came
from. Do you think you can have a future with her?”
Kane looked up, his deep gaze filled with determination,
“If there’s no future, I’ll make it.”
Before he met her, he had never thought of marriage;
After Kane met Laura, the only things in his mind were Laura and marriage.
Kane said sternly with determination, “Nothing is impossible if you haven’t even tried. I want her, and her only!”
Sage and the rest smiled and felt relieved upon hearing that.
Nothing was impossible for Kane.
Sage then switched the subject to Nigel.
“Nigel, how’s the wedding preparation?”
Nigel toyed with the silver ring on his ring finger as he smiled charmingly, “It’s going well. When you return from Yathein, it’ll be about time for our reception.”
Looking at him smiling happily and thinking back to the chaotic time when he first came out to the family about his relationship, they had truly come a long way.
A relationship required both parties to put in the same amount of effort for it to work. Therefore, a one- sided relationship would never have a good ending.
Time passed way faster when Sage was chatting with her brothers.
Four hours had finally come to an end. Seth helped Sage up, and she rubbed her knees gently. All thanks to the ‘easy kneeling pads’, her knees were only slightly reddened, not to the point of bruising and swelling. Everyone was getting sleepy as they bid each other ‘goodnight’ and left. Sage got back to her room and received a call from Tim.
How on time. It must have been Luther who told Tim that she was done.
Sage picked up the phone and whined, “Tim, I just got up. I kneeled for four whole hours, not a minute less! My knees are all swollen.”
Tim uttered deeply, “What about your ‘easy kneeling pads’?
How did he know?!
Sage paused briefly and growled, “You guys made another group chat without me!” There was no love in their family.
