A Relentless Pursuit for Love

Chapter 645

Chapter 645

Chapter 645 “Lucas? Lucas!”

Lucas was jolted back to his senses as Luna called out to him. In a daze, he took a glimpse at the person laying in his arms to find that it was someone else.

It was not the woman that he promised to take care of.

“What’s wrong?”

Luna sat up and held Lucas’ hands in her hands. For some reason, she felt anxious to see Lucas being so absentminded. Even when they were having sex earlier, he did not seem to be in it.

She leaned into him, kissed his cheeks and his lips, asking, “Let’s do it once more, hmm?” . Lucas, on the other hand, avoided her kiss and pushed her away gently. Getting off the bed, he said, “I got to go now.” Luna felt like someone poured a cold bucket of water over her head.

She suddenly went cold.

Seeing how Lucas was putting on his clothes one by one, Luna too got off the bed, wrapped her arms around Lucas from the back, and sobbed, “Lucas, are you getting tired of me?”

“It’s not that. You’re overthinking.”

Lucas tried to remove her hands but Luna held him tighter. “Don’t go. Stay with me, will you?”

“I still have to work…”

“What’s more important than having a child?” Luna stood in front of Lucas and said to him, “I’m being serious, Lucas. Let’s try to have a kid. I’m still having my period which means there’s still a chance!”

Lucas looked at her and said, “Didn’t you tell me that the doctor said that you won’t be able to get pregnant anymore?”

“Since when did I…”

Luna was stunned. She immediately recalled the time when she had an abortion because she wanted to guilt-trip Lucas to stay by her side. Luna was not sure of what she told Lucas.

“Yes,” Luna quickly explained herself, “but the medical technology is so advanced now, and who knows, I might be able to get pregnant again.” Lucas replied flatly, “There’s no need for it.” He then added, emotionlessly, “I already have a son and I don’t need another child. If you so desperately want a child, there’s a solution, and that’s for us to separate.” Lucas pushed her hands away from his waist, put on his shoes, and walked out of the door. Luna collapsed to the floor.

Why?

How did it end up this way? Did he not want her anymore?

At the mention of Lucas Spencer’s name, Sage was annoyed. “I don’t want to know anything about that despicable pairing.” She then asked, “What about that minister? Who’s he?” “Not a decent man, I’d say. But he has quite a history. I’ve sent you his information through email. You can have a look at them.”

Luther then went on, “It looks like he has a thing for BDSM. I’ve sent you some photos and you can have a look at them. I’m sure you can break the code to the files.”

The cookies still needed some time before they were done. Sage removed the apron and headed upstairs to check the encrypted email that Luther sent her. Her fingers ran swiftly across the keyboard and within a few minutes, the file was encrypted. Sage slowly took in all the information about Peter. From the information, it seemed like his marriage and career progressed at a similar speed. Sage thought that Peter was pretty much a second Lucas Spencer. Peter only transformed into the man that he was now depending on his wife’s wealth and fortune. He was a classic opportunist.

Scrolling further down the email, Sage looked at the pictures with Sienna and Peter in the same frame.

Both of them were careful. They were seen wearing caps and face masks when entering and leaving the hotel. There were a few photos that were taken from the CCTV. One of them was Sienna who left the hotel room with bruises on her face.

Sage narrowed her eyes as she thought of what Luther said to her and she immediately understood where those injuries came from. Seeing how Sienna laid comfortably in Peter’s arms, Sage thought that Sienna must be enjoying this. Sage had to admit that Sienna did one hell of a job, playing the role that she was given. To the point that Sage wanted to reward her hard work with a prize.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
