Tony scanned the hospital surveillance videos with a keen eye, his senses heightened in the darkness of the room. The flickering footage revealed Alpha Kilian and Thalia, but Tony failed to pick up on the fact that Alpha Kilian had succumbed to Thalia’s enchanting beauty.
As the video came to an end, Tony swiftly deleted the incriminating evidence. A sigh of relief escaped his lips, and he allowed himself to drift back into a restless slumber.
Meanwhile, in the shadows of another room, a figure stood tall and sturdy, reading news of Nelly’s car accident on a computer screen. Although the accident had been tragic and fatal, Nelly had miraculously survived with only minor injuries.
His fist clenched tightly, anger and confusion consuming him.
How did she cheat death? Why was she spared?
Why?!
In a fit of determination, his fingers danced across the keyboard, searching for the hospital where Nelly had been admitted. However, no information was reported on the news, leaving him frustrated and unable to uncover any details.
Just as he was about to give up in frustration, a picture caught his attention. It revealed the clear number plate of the ambulance that transported Nelly.
A sinister sneer spread across his face.
This time, he vowed to end her life.
And he would do it himself.
The next morning, Alpha Kilian’s phone jolted him from his sleep. As Nelly lay soundly in her hospital bed, unaware of the crisis unfolding, Alpha Kilian quickly left the room to answer the call.
In the dimly lit corridor, he picked up the phone and questioned, “Hello, who is this?”
“Alpha Kilian, it’s me, Mrs. Gareth,” a familiar voice replied.
Narrowing his eyes, Alpha Kilian responded, “Mrs. Gareth, how can I assist you?”
“Alpha Kilian, are you with Lara?” Caroline’s voice quivered with concern.
Alpha Kilian furrowed his brow and replied, “No.”
“Have you been able to reach her? I haven’t heard from her since yesterday,” Caroline anxiously inquired.
“Is she not at home?”
“I don’t know. I went to her house, but no one answered the door. I’m worried. Her father is being discharged from the hospital today, and I couldn’t reach her. This isn’t like her. Do you think something bad has happened?” Caroline’s voice trembled as panic set in.
Alpha Kilian recalled Lara’s request to speak with him the previous night, a memory overshadowed by Nelly’s accident.
“That day, she mentioned wanting to speak to you about something. After that, I couldn’t get in touch with her. I thought you two were together. I’m so worried. Something terrible must have happened to her!” Caroline pleaded.
Alpha Kilian glanced back at the closed ward door before reluctantly responding, “Mrs. Gareth, calm down. I will search for her. If I find any news, I will inform you immediately.”
“Thank you so much!” Caroline expressed her gratitude before the call ended.
Alpha Kilian returned to Nelly’s ward, where she had already awoken and sat upright.
“You’re awake?” Alpha Kilian questioned.
Nelly shot him a disgruntled look, as if she had awakened on the wrong side of the bed. “Yes.”
“I…”NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
“If you’re busy, you don’t have to stay. I’m fine alone here,” Nelly interrupted before he could finish his sentence.
Alpha Kilian pursed his lips. “No rush. I will wait until someone arrives before leaving.”
Nelly fell silent, leaving Alpha Kilian to do as he pleased.
Alpha Kilian sensed Nelly’s despondency. “Actually…”
But before he could finish his sentence, the door swung open, revealing Alpha Wade’s entrance into the ward.
Clearly caught off guard by Alpha Kilian’s presence, Alpha wade stared at him and asked, “Why are you here?”
“Yesterday, I…”
“Donna was worried that I would be alone. So she insisted Alpha Kilian come over,” Nelly interjected.
Although Alpha Kilian needed an excuse, it felt out of place hearing it from Nelly.
Alpha Wade shot Alpha Kilian a look before presenting the oatmeal he had prepared for Nelly.
Nelly beamed. “Alpha Morris, I have someone here with me. You’re a busy person, so you can leave now. Please tell Donna not to worry about me.”
Alpha Kilian furrowed his brow, sensing a hidden message in Nelly’s words.
Meanwhile, Alpha Wade added, “Yeah, you’re busy. No need to stay.”
Alpha Kilian stood in the corner, feeling dismissed and rejected, but unable to do anything about it.
Just as he felt a sense of dejection lingering, his phone rang once again.
Glancing at the caller ID, Alpha Kilian muttered, “Yes, I do have something to attend to right now. I will leave then.”
Alpha Wade nonchalantly shrugged and handed the oatmeal to Nelly. In his mind, all he could focus on was Nelly’s recovery.
“Here you go. Have some oatmeal,” Alpha Wade said.
Nelly, her attention now diverted from the door, smirked. “Thank you, Gramps.”
Meanwhile, Tony followed Alpha Wade to the hospital and noticed Thalia’s car parked at the entrance. He approached Thalia’s car and knocked on the windows, catching her off guard. Thalia quickly unlocked the car.
“Why are you here?” Tony questioned.
“Traveling such a long distance is too much effort. I decided to spend the night here instead,” Thalia yawned before glancing at Tony. “I’ve rented a place and will be moving today.”
Tony chuckled. “Are you serious?”
“Do I look like I’m joking?” Thalia responded.
Tony laughed. “Yesterday, my mom saw you.”
“How did you know?” Thalia asked, realizing that Tony was a skilled hacker who had access to the surveillance system.
“Since I was in disguise, I doubt your mom recognized me,” Thalia said, confident in her assumption.
Tony couldn’t help but be surprised by Thalia’s audacity.
However, he recognized that certain things couldn’t remain hidden for long.
If Nelly found out, it might be best to confess…
“Alright. Rest up. I’m going to visit my mom,” Tony said simply.
Thalia nodded in response.
Tony opened the car door and exited.
Coincidentally, Alpha Kilian emerged from the hospital. Tony turned his back, noticing Alpha Kilian briskly approaching in his direction.
Their eyes met.
They couldn’t escape the inevitable collision.
However, Alpha Kilian walked past Tony with purpose, their paths crossing like strangers in the night…
