Chapter 16 : The Elementals Alpha
Chapter 16 : The Elementals Alpha
Roman was having a moody day.It was one of those days when he didn't find good in anything and kept grumbling all day.
Usually this would happen when he didn't sleep well or had been overworked.
For the last three days Alpha Roman didn't get enough rest.
Although it didn't show up on his face, those who were always around him could tell.
Easton didn't want to approach him today for the sake of his own Safety but the responsibilities of a Beta was far more than that.He couldn't neglect those duties just because he was afraid of his Alpha's grumpy face.
A deep breath in and a deep breath out, Easton practiced this a few times to calm his trembling body and knocked on Alpha Roman's study door.
Alpha Roman's grumbling voice told him to come inside.
Easton didn't dare show any emotions, he quietly came inside, making sure his footsteps didn't make any unnecessary noise.
"Alpha, your schedule for today, please confirm it."
Easton respectfully placed the schedule on the desk and took two steps back.
Alpha Roman's blue eyes fell on the content of the schedule and his eyebrows scrunched together. He picked it up with two appointment.
"Who is this Alpha Clark?"
Easton was well prepared for this question. He brought a folder along and slid it over to Alpha Roman.
As Alpha Roman flipped through the folder, Easton gave a brief introduction of the Pack, "Alpha Vance Clark of the Blue Stone pack. This pack is located somewhere in the east, it's a small pack with no accomplishments. The Pack suffered a rogue attack thirteen years ago and since then it has not recovered from the damage. It wasn't very noticeable before that either.Pretty mediocre."
After skimming through the information, Alpha Roman placed the folder back on the desk and gave Easton a look as he said, "If you are so clear about them then why the hell is his name on my schedule? Do you still want the Beta position or are you ready to retire?"
Easton shivered and vigorously shook his head.
He cleared his throat and explained seriously, "Alpha Clark wanted to meet to negotiate for a possible alliance.Their pack is going through a lot, besides, they have an elemental in their pack."
Alpha Roman's interest piqued.
He raised an eyebrow, "Which one?"
"We don't know about that yet. When we received the call from Alpha Clark for an appointment, we refused at first but then he mentioned having an elemental and that in the future this of a doubt, I agreed." The schedule on the desk was swept aside.
Alpha Roman wouldn't have considered this meeting at first, but after knowing that they have an elemental, only a fool would rejected it.
"Fine, I'll meet him."
Alpha Roman pressed a hand to his forehead, he could feel a headache coming.
Easton bowed and left the study in a hurry. He confirmed the appointment with the patrolling guards and the guards at the gate.
Alpha Roman fell into deep thought in his study.
An elemental was a rare existence.
The power to control an element was as fascinating as it was terrifying.
Since there were only five elements, there were five elementals as well.
However, being an elemental was not an easy task, if not trained carefully, it was easy to be overwhelmed with their natural element.
And then there was that prophecy.
Alpha Roman's eyes darken at the thought of the prophecy.
It was the prophecy from a hundred years ago that determined the destiny of the elementals even before they were born. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Although initially it wasn't known which decade will have all the five elements, it was becoming clear now.
Picking up the intercom, Alpha Roman dialled a number and said, "Send Logan to my study."
Logan was one of the kids who were training under Alpha Although his personality was lowkey and quiet, he got along well with his teammates.
It took Logan ten minutes to get to the study and came in directly.
He stood opposite to Alpha Roman and asked why he was called.
He had traces of dirt and sweat on his body, he had ran all the way from training grounds.
"Another elemental was found."
Alpha Roman didn't Beat around the bush and informed him directly.
Logan stiffen and asked, "Which one?"
"No idea about that. But we'll know by this afternoon." Logan looked a bit troubled. His eyes wandered to his hands that were red and rough from training.
"So that makes it three, doesn't it?" Logan asked quietly, "Another one is found. It won't be long before....The prophecy..."
Alpha Roman leaned back on his chair and stared at Logan.
Logan's trembling hands were clenched in a fist.As an elemental himself, he knew his destiny was predetermined.
But he was still afraid to face it.He didn't want to be a part of a prophecy that predicted the endless bloodbath.
"Don't be scared Logan, did you forget who we are?"
Alpha Roman's strong voice cut through Logan's fear like a sword through clouds.
"But Alpha -"
"You don't have to worry about anything when I am here whether we can prevent the loss of lives or not, we can think about it when time comes. For now I just want to tell you that you should prepare harder. You still cannot control your wood element to the fullest, try harder. We don't have much time."
"I will give it my best Alpha."
Logan stood up and bowed, "I should go back and train more."
Alpha Roman nodded and said solemnly, "Even if it’s just the two of us, we will still try our best to oppose our destiny. The pack is our priority. We will defend it even if we have to give our lives for it."
Logan's eyes widen in determination, "Yes Alpha!"
