Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Mikayla returned to her room, showered, and changed into a fresh outfit.
She applied some makeup and decided to meet Taylor after breakfast.
However, when she approached her computer, she noticed her USB drive was missing.
Despite searching around, she couldn’t find it anywhere.
She had stored important data on it the previous night. Where could it have gone?
She asked Amy, but Amy shook her head. “I knocked on your door this morning, but you didn’t answer. Since the door wasn’t locked, I entered your room but never touched your things.”
“Did Jerome enter my room this morning?” Mikayla asked.
Seeing Mikayla’s solemn expression, Amy grew nervous. “He did. He saw your phone in your room. So he assumed you hadn’t left. Is the USB drive important, Mrs. Miller? Would you like me to help you search for it again?”
It wasn’t about the USB drive. It was the crucial data inside. If Jerome saw it, all her
efforts would be in vain.
“I’ll manage it myself. Thank you.”
Mikayla immediately called Jerome, but he didn’t answer.
Damn it. What was the use of having a phone if he wouldn’t answer it?
Mikayla put her phone away and had a light breakfast before driving to the Miller Group.
When she arrived at the lobby, she thought the receptionist would stop her again.
However, she was met by a new receptionist who greeted her warmly with a bright smile. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
The receptionist politely said, “Mrs. Miller, welcome! Let me escort you to the CEO’s office immediately.”
Puzzled, Mikayla asked, “Does Jerome know I’m coming?”
The receptionist smiled and replied, “We haven’t received any notification from Mr. Miller. However, it’s our policy that nobody stops you when you visit. We should escort you directly to the CEO’s office.”
Mikayla was utterly confused.
Why would Jerome approve such a ridiculous rule?
Moreover…
“How do you know me?”
The receptionist replied promptly, “The first thing we need to learn during our on–the- Job training is to familiarize ourselves with important personnel at the Miller Group and those to Mr. Miller.”
Mikayla was utterly confused. She wasn’t affiliated with the Miller Group, and she definitely was not an important person to Jerome.
Did she enter the wrong place?
“Mrs. Miller, this way, please.” The receptionist courteously extended her hand.
“Alright, thank you.”
Mikayla didn’t want to dwell on it. Perhaps because she was Jerome’s wife, the staff considered her an “important” person.
Upon reaching the CEO’s office, the secretary informed her that Jerome was in a meeting. The secretary guided her into his office and even politely offered her coffee.
Previously, unless she came with Wanda, she could hardly step into the CEO’s office, let alone receive such good treatment.
As Mikayla was speculating about what Jerome was up to, the office door suddenly swung open.
She glanced over and saw the well–dressed Jerome entering with Mike.
Mike was reporting something to Jerome. He greeted her when he saw her. “Mrs. Miller.”
Mikayla smiled in response. Then, she coldly turned to Jerome. “Did you drive?”

Jerome’s gaze darkened. He walked over to the sofa where she was sitting.
“I’ve read the proposal with Ansoft. It was done quite meticulously.”
Jerome gestured to Mike, and Mike promptly handed over a set of documents to Mikayla.
She frowned and looked down.
