“Ka-Kaleb?” Sasha gasped as she looked up at him, startled. Her eyes squinted in bemusement. Was this real or was he playing her tricks? She couldn’t help but wonder. But seeing that arrogant look, mingled with something like anger on the face of the man standing before her eyes, Sasha grasped immediately that he was indeed very serious.
But what the fuck was he doing? She gulped, her eyes bored deeply into his. He was devouring her alive, despite the displeasure in his perilous gaze. His eyes were openly scrutinizing her and his lips twisted in a confusing fashion.
“Hi, Kaleb,” Sasha greeted him.
“Where the hell have been? And didn’t you see my calls?” Kaleb asked, ignoring her astounded look.
“Will you at least move out of my way so I can come in?” Sasha said curtly.
His usual insolent smile was back on track, his eyes gleaming. “Sure” he said, and moved backwards so she could come in.
“Kaleb, what are you doing?” Sasha demanded quietly. “Am I supposed to take permission from you before I leave the house or-”
“You don’t want to piss me any more than you already have, do you, Sasha?” Kaleb whispered softly into her ear. She shuddered. “I’m fucked with anger right now so It wouldn’t take much to push me”
Anger? Over what? Sasha glared at him with a crunchy face and a soft breath escaped her lungs. “I’m going to my room, Kaleb. Don’t be a dick tonight!” Sasha murmured to his face and walked past him. Unfortunately he followed her. He was right behind her as they headed to her room. He caught her by the waist before she could open the door and held her possessively against him.
Sasha was mad at him, but she couldn’t deny that she loved it. “I saw Samson drop you off, and yet everytime I ask about him, you deny that there’s anything between you. You enjoy these lustful stares you get from him, don’t you?” Kaleb accused.
“I’m not answering that because you’re twisted,” Sasha replied. She slapped his arm away before she got carried away my his touch. “I have plenty of questions right now,” she muttered as she stood before him. “But I’ll only ask one.”
“Go ahead.” Kaleb replied coolly, his eyes narrowed down at her.
“What’s the meaning of this?” she asked.
“Meaning of what?” He scowled.
“Stop playing dumb with me, Kaleb! I’m talking about you trying so hard to ruin my night. I don’t understand you. What’s the meaning of all this? Why are you doing this?”
“I also have a good reason.” Kaleb said.
“And what is it?”
“You,” he said pointedly, and suddenly his face darkened. “Why were you out with Samson and flirting with him?”
“Excuse me!” Sasha exclaimed. “I didn’t go out with just Samson. Tilly and Frank were with us. He just drove me home. I wasn’t flirting with him either! And even if that was the case, it has nothing to do with you now, does it?” She pounced on him, her chest touching his.
“Oh it surely does!” Samson muttered between gritted teeth “Everything about you, Sasha, matters to me. Do you get it? You’re carrying my baby, Sasha. Wherever you go, my baby goes too, so you better be sure that where you go and what you do matters a lot to me. Do you understand?” He gripped her waist tightly, pulled her closer to him, his face angered.
“No, I don’t get it,” Sasha objected, panting, stirred by his tight hold. “I thought we’re done with the shit, Kaleb-when you decided to go mute for weeks since we…. Since we” she couldn’t finish her sentence without feeling embarrassed.
“Oh?” Kaleb smirked, amused.
“Yeah,” Sasha breathed. “I know that’s what I said I wanted. I thought it was over between us, and I was relieved that at last everything was going to be back to normal…. or whatever normal is with a situation like ours… But guess what, it’s not. You are still here…. Messing with my life, you jerk! Do you enjoy it? Do you like this-”
She was rambling, and Kaleb silenced her with a kiss, stoutly taking control of her psyche. She grumbled, holding his shoulders for support as he squeezed her back tightly, paying no attention to anything else. His lips, as always, were demanding of her mouth, twirling and swirling his tongue with hers, deeply, restlessly, both fighting for dominance. How she had missed him! Sasha couldn’t deny this fact, and she felt conned when he pulled back, leaving her wanton.
“That’s what I thought either,” Kaleb said, panting the same way she did. “But it all changed when I saw you coming home with Samson. I was getting worried when you weren’t picking your calls, only for me to look out the window and see you… Hugging or whatever the fuck was going on in there. I hate it when you’re with him, or any other man for that matter,”
He trailed his impetuous eyes down body. Sasha scowled at that. She wasn’t even wearing anything revealing. What was with him? Was he jealous? She smiled. For some stupid reasons this simple fact brought Sasha a grand felicity. She was touched.
They were both silent then. Just stood there staring at each other, until Kaleb uttered hoarsely. “I have missed you. You are always on mind,” he added, and nothing but sincerity laced his now calm voice.
Sasha could feel the butterflies fluttering their wings in her stomach.
“If you did, then why didn’t you do anything about it?” she asked him with a perfect indifference.
Kaleb smiled gently. “Because I wanted to do as you want. I wanted to leave you alone. Stay out of your way.”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“And then what changed tonight?” Sasha returned, her gaze tentative.
“I don’t know.” Kaleb sighed, tipping his head exhaustively. “Maybe you’re too irresistible to be left alone.” His smile was pure provocation.
The heat rose into Sasha’s body, her core aroused by his voice alone, but then she remembered Claire and reminded herself that she was living in fairy tale land. “I met your girlfriend tonight,” she told him, unable to hide the feeling of discomfort at the remembrance of her encounter with Claire. “She knows about us… What exactly did you tell her about our… Situation?”
