Chapter 46
Chapter 46
Olivia walked toward the entrance of the villa. As soon as she walked in, a servant rushed out.
Olivia couldn’t dodge in time and was hit hard.
She looked up with a frown and saw the disgust in the servant’s eyes.
Olivia was stunned. She knew this maid. Her name was unclear. Everyone called her Lynn. Lynn was an experienced person. She heard that when Michelle was still alive, Lynn was here. Amy and Emma were raised by Lynn personally. Lynn had a high status in the Taylor family.
She was almost like the nanny in Downton Abbey. The juniors in the family were extremely respectful to her.
Lynn was no longer working in the Taylor family. She was practically in a state of retirement. Even the butler respected her greatly.
After Olivia returned to the Taylor family, she only met Lynn a few times and did not interact with Lynn. She did not even speak to Lynn.
Lynn ignored Olivia and rushed to the phone. She picked up the receiver and said, “Sam, drive over quickly. Drive the RV. Quick, something happened to Yvonne!”
Upon hearing the commotion, Emma took a few steps forward in a hurry and asked, “Lynn, what’s wrong with Yvonne?”
“Emma…” Lynn held Emma’s hand. Tears streamed down her face as her lips trembled. “Yvonne, Yvonne committed suicide by taking sleeping pills!”
“How could this be?” Emma was shocked.
She had not interacted much with Yvonne. They had only chatted briefly this afternoon. In her impression, Yvonne was a gentle and sensible girl. Previously, Emma thought that Yvonne was scheming. An orphan girl actually clung to Amy and made Amy treat her as her biological daughter. However, upon interacting with Yvonne, Emma came to realize that this girl possessed a remarkable gentleness. Every action, word, and gesture exuded a soothing aura, akin to a gentle spring breeze. Yvonne had a remarkable talent for caring for others.
She didn’t seem like a scheming person at all. Why would she commit suicide? It shouldn’t be.
Hearing this, Lynn glanced at Olivia. Her gaze was like a poisonous knife, and her tone was gloomy. “What else could it be? Everything that happened to our family recently was all because of her!” Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
As she spoke, Lynn’s gaze remained fixed on Olivia, almost as if she were directly addressing Olivia by name.
Emma was a little stunned. What did this have to do with Olivia? Olivia had just returned. Then, she heard Lynn say, “Ms. Yvonne heard that after Olivia was found, she felt that someone could take care of her godmother. She felt that her identity would make things difficult for Olivia and her godmother. She was sensitive and thoughtful. She always thought for others, so she took sleeping pills and committed suicide.”
Olivia stood behind the two of them and did not say anything for a long time.
She really didn’t know what to say. How could she be blamed for this? She had never seen Yvonne before.
The Taylor family was already in a mess. No one cared about Olivia at all. Amy only saw Yvonne lying on the bed with a pale face and weak
breathing. She didn’t even look at Olivia.
After the car drove over, Amy followed. Samuel was worried and followed. Seeing this, Emma followed closely behind.
Olivia glanced at the door. Amelia was shocked and quickly stood in front of her. She said coldly, “Don’t follow her. Yvonne can’t see you.”
Lynn, who was standing beside Amelia, saw that Olivia was expressionless and did not look worried at all. In the end, she could not help but say angrily, “Ms. Yvonne committed suicide because of you. It’s fine if you don’t feel guilty and blame yourself, but how can you be so cold? If it weren’t for you, Ms. Yvonne wouldn’t have suffered such a disaster.”
Lynn’s heart ached when she thought of Yvonne, who was as pale as a sheet on the bed.
What a good girl. Although she had been by Ms. Amy’s side for many years and had not returned to the country, she heard that it was Lynn who raised Ms. Amy, so she often called Lynn and even sent Lynn a lot of things, saying that she wanted to be filial to Lynn on behalf of Amy.
Lynn had never seen such a meticulous, kind, and beautiful girl.
Thinking about how such a beautiful girl had committed suicide because of a selfish and cold person like Olivia, Lynn became even more resentful of Olivia.
Amelia also frowned deeply. She had always acted like a noble lady. At most, she would frown slightly. It was rare for her to frown so deeply without caring about her image.
“Your grandfather is upstairs. Go and see him, and then leave. I’m not sure what’s happening with Yvonne. The hospital is too close to this place. Don’t linger here. Go straight back to school and avoid coming over for the time being.”
Olivia remained silent, opting instead to ascend the staircase directly to visit her Grandpa.
“Wait.” Amelia stopped her after she took two steps. “Although you’re the Taylor family’s bloodline, Emma and Yvonne are both daughters of the Taylor family. If I find out that you bullied the two of them behind our backs because of your blood relationship with the Taylor family, I won’t let you off even if you’re my biological daughter.”
After saying that, seeing that Olivia did not react, Amelia became even more frustrated. She could not help but say fiercely, “You’d better behave yourself. Otherwise, don’t blame me for not recognizing you as my daughter!”
This time, Olivia finally reacted. She turned around and looked at Amelia indifferently.
Thinking that Olivia still remembered their mother–daughter
relationship, Amelia felt a little smug. She threatened. “At that time, even if I fall out with your grandfather, I will chase you out of the Taylor family!”
Olivia was speechless.
Amelia thought she was very willing to stay here. If her grandfather had not called her back, she would not have stepped into this place at all.
This family was crazy.
Olivia ignored Amelia and went straight upstairs. After exchanging a few words with Liam, she returned to school overnight.
Yvonne’s condition was dire. She had experienced multiple
life–threatening episodes. If it weren’t for the Taylor family’s private hospital, which boasted exceptional medical expertise and state–of–the–art facilities, she might not have survived at all.
After sleeping for three days and three nights, Yvonne slowly woke up. Her once full and beautiful red lips were pale and cracked, making Amy’s heart break.
“Godmother.” She had been asleep for too long, so her throat was dry. Yvonne’s voice was hoarse. “Am I dreaming?”
Amy held her hand.
She seemed to be stunned by Amy’s grip. Then, she revealed a timid, careful, but satisfied smile. “I must be dreaming! Only in dreams will you hold my hand.”
With that, she closed her eyes and rubbed her cheek against the back of Amy’s hand. “That’s great. How I wish I were your daughter. Only in my dreams would I dare to indulge myself and call you mother openly…” Hearing this, Amy finally couldn’t control herself. She choked and said, “You’re my daughter.”
Yvonne instantly opened her eyes, which were as bright as stars.
“Really?” She looked at Amy expectantly.
Amy nodded heavily. “It’s true. From now on, I’m your mother.”
Yvonne’s lips curled into a blissful smile as she muttered, “Even if it’s just a dream, I’m satisfied.”
With that, she fell into a deep sleep.
Two months later, Olivia received the news from the Taylor family. Ryan had told her that Amy had moved Yvonne’s household register and changed her name to Yvonne Taylor. She also wanted to hold a grand banquet to introduce Yvonne to everyone.
