Blind Date Turned Proposal

Chapter 1150 Immortal

Larry immediately dared not to continue the conversation.

Once Dexter sat down holding the child, Larry finally said, "The person has arrived."

Dexter's actions faltered slightly. "Where?"

"In the hotel, available to meet at any time."

"Let's wait a bit longer."

Josie emerged from the restroom, noticing Larry hastily making his way out. She called out to him and asked, "In such a rush to leave?"

Larry's gaze fell upon her neck, where a vivid red mark was visible. He replied in a suggestive tone, "All matters have been reported, Ms. Warren. There are certain things I need to handle. Please be more patient with Mr. Russell."Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Josie was utterly confused, watching as he walked away.

After a while, the staff from Russell Group arrived. They were likely high-ranking officials who had hurriedly rushed over, looking travel-worn. Accompanying them was a doctor who brought along medical equipment.

Josie had never met them before. She took Grape away, not wanting her to hear all that.

As for them, they paid more attention to Josie. In a flash, they recognized her, all taken by surprise.

They never thought Dexter would stay away from Wavery to stay in Rivodia for such a long time for the sake of a woman.

Moreover, this woman turned out to be Josie.

The doctor was the first to take a seat, proceeding to attach Dexter to the equipment to measure something.

Meanwhile, others sat nearby, handing Dexter various reports. They asked, "Mr. Russell, you don't look well. Did you not sleep well last night?"

Dexter responded nonchalantly with a hum.

While they waited for him to review the report, they said, "Shawn intervened yesterday afternoon, seizing the subway construction project that Russell Group had contracted for this year, including the project at the Rivodia-Wavery border. He's taken them."

As soon as these words were spoken, Dexter immediately raised an eyebrow. "Shawn from Bastille Group?"

"Yes. After Morgan withdrew to the sidelines, the Bastille family was taken over by Shawn. He really made a name for himself. It's unclear where he got his connections and resources from, but he directly snatched the projects from Russell Group."

As those words fell, the other party felt somewhat ashamed.

A deep chill was evident in Dexter's eyes. "Those two projects are the focus of Russell Group for the entire year. How did Shawn have the ability to intercept them all? Did he have insider information?" Dexter thought Shawn couldn't possibly have such extensive connections unless he was privy to insider information.

The other party denied it immediately by saying, "Impossible. These projects were secrets within Russell Group. They had been in preparation for several months."

Dexter didn't believe any of it, his expression gloomy. "Find the rat."

"If we were to initiate an internal investigation, I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to keep it from the board of directors. They have already had their reservations about you over the past two years. Plus, with you now residing in Rivodia indefinitely, a hasty investigation might stir up unnecessary unrest."

As soon as these words were spoken, the doctor immediately frowned at the blood pressure monitor, signaling to the staff.

"Of course, we will ensure that the investigation begins without alarming the shareholders," the staff member hastily assured.

Dexter cast a glance at the doctor. "You guys don't need to look at his face for cues. I am well aware of my own body's condition." No one dared to speak.

The doctor then said plainly, "Do you, though?"

Everyone was taken aback, including Josie, who was standing outside the child's room.

"Tell me honestly. How many nights have you spent awake in Rivodia? You're not even bothered by your high blood pressure, and now you're dealing with arrhythmia and migraines. Dexter, who do you think you are? Do you really believe you're invincible?"

The doctor didn't hesitate to scold people, regardless of their status.

Dexter rubbed his brow, instinctively glancing in Josie's direction. He then gave a bitter smile and said, "Dr. Larson, spare me some dignity. There are so many people here."
