Chapter 693

Right then, Sean was holed up in the surveillance room. Looking at Kirk, he said, “Kirk, there’s

something strange about Caroline’s expression.”

Kirk followed Caroline’s gaze on the screen.

Sean clicked his tongue. “Indeed, you know Caroline best.”

Sean saw how focused Kirk was on the footage. He didn’t seem inclined to respond to Sean at all, so Sean kept his mouth shut and continued watching.

By now, Caroline had already walked up to the man hesitantly. Full of suspicion, she said, “You’re

the president of the SY Group?”

The man thumbed his nose and said with a laugh, “Ms. Evans, you’re mistaken. I’m not Mr. Morrison. I’m his assistant.”

Hearing that, Caroline’s expression cleared up. “Then where’s the president?”

The man smiled. “Ms. Evans, please wait a moment. Mr. Morrison will be here soon.”

“Alright.”

“Ms. Evans, Mr. Morrison says that you should order first.”

Caroline nodded slightly but didn’t make a move. She insisted on waiting for Eddy’s second uncle to arrive. She was worried that this meeting would fall through again. She had been left hanging too many times before already.

Seeing that Caroline had no intentions to order, the man went outside. He marched straight into the surveillance room nearby.

“Sir, the mission’s complete,” the man respectfully reported to Kirk.

Kirk nodded. He called Charles and asked him, “Is he here?”

“He’s downstairs.”

Kirk hung up and said to the other man “Go on, then

Yes, sir. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Sean couldn’t help but ask, “Kirk, you’re already aware that Caroline has met you before. She

remembers everything about you. Yet, why are you making it obvious that something’s amiss?”

Kirk leaned back into the seat, sinking into the couch. He rubbed his nose and said, “We’ve had

countless opportunities to meet in the past. Still, it never happened. Carrie is a smart woman. She

might have already thought that we’re the same person.”

He went on, saying, “However, love blinded her temporarily. It made her trust me more. Besides, she really doesn’t like the Morrison family. That’s why she doesn’t want me to be one of them.”

Kirk was getting to the point. He explained, “She might sense that it’s fake if the first person she

meets fits the bill perfectly. She would doubt herself and start wondering if she was looking at the

real Kirk Morrison.”

Sean sucked his teeth. “Kirk, you really do understand Caroline exceptionally well…”

As he spoke, Sean looked at Kirk with sympathy.

It was exactly because he knew Caroline’s mind so well that Kirk probably knew how much

Caroline was suffering now. And, he was the only one who could do so. Thinking of this, Sean

couldn’t help but “admire” Jude Morrison.

Though he had passed on, he was still able to place such huge stumbling blocks between Kirk and

Caroline. Sean only hoped that these blocks didn’t end up becoming bombs. Even if they did, he

hoped they would never explode.

Thinking to himself, Sean’s gaze once again fell on Caroline on the screen.

Right then, the door to the private room opened after a knock. It was the man who had just left.

Caroline stood up. “Has Mr. Morrison arrived?”
