Chapter 76
It felt like a great time for her to go out with Jaxton.
They had been having stress and work-related issues so it just was right for her to do the needful he was her boyfriend by the way.
“Yea hello, Jaxton, I think by 5 PM I should be done with my work at the office and Paxton wouldn’t need me anymore so it would be great having to spend time with you,” Sydney said on the phone Jaxton was elated.
He knew he had messed up the night before and having her accept to go on with him and no complaints was like music to his ears.
Sydney got up and went into the bathroom, she just might get ready for work since he had woken her from sleep.
She did her morning routine and then went on to iron her clothes when her phone rang one more time.
She didn’t check the caller ID because she felt it would be Jactok again he was clingy of course.
“Hello?”
“Don’t sound grumpy on me girl,” her good old friend chimed into the phone.
“Sorry girl, I thought it was Jax” she explained to a friend who laughed.
Of course, they all knew how Jaxton was would be when it came to Sydney, he was clingy and jealous and wouldn’t want her to be any other man’s focus.
“Well cut the crap and get right to the point why did you call me?” she asked.
“Well, the girls were thinking we could go to the club this night since it is a Friday and we were feeling like twerking our asses up on that dancing floor” Naya sang.
Thinking of her plans with Jaxton she decided to decline.
She had missed her girls so much but it seemed she was stuck with Jax for the weekend and she couldn’t go drinking and clubbing on Sunday because Monday was going to work.
“Sorry girl… I kind of have plans already” Sydney slowly said.
“Let me guess, with Jaxton right?” Naya asked with a little hint of attitude which by the way was justified.
Ever since they got to know of her and Jaxton dating, the guy seems to feel he owned her, like she wasn’t supposed to go out without him, like she didn’t have a life before him and to her friends that was a toxic trait. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
But no one could. advise a woman in love but herself, and they all just had to make sure they supported her each step of the way without judgement.
“Don’t sound like that girl, I can make up for that at any time we are supposed to have a dinner date and maybe from there I could meet up with you guys?” Sydney tried to sound enthusiastic but it had died down Naya wasn’t feeling it.
“It’s a cool girl we could hang out some other time no need to worry okay?” Naya said.
They had a little chitchat and after that, she hung up.
Sydney began asking herself what if she just told Jaxtok she wanted to relax and rest with her friends and then maybe spend Sunday with him?
Lots and lots of thoughts came to mind as she brewed her morning coffee and decided to do the dishes since it was still early for her to begin rushing to the office.
After thinking for some time she decided to call in sick she needed that time for herself.
Looking around the house it looked messy, she had not yet had the time to clean because of the troubles of the company for the past week but then again she deserve some time alone.
She used the first hours of the morning to clean and do laundry she cleaned and when she realised the entire place was spotless and extremely clean to her liking she sat to binge-watch some movies.
Sydney was still trying to find a polite way to decline the date with Jaxton and just have a moment for herself.
Binge-watching movies become boring and it was still noon.
She went to a news Channel and she realised Jaxtin and Pacton were on the news as concerned about the way they handled the crises at the company.
She couldn’t help but begin to compare Jaxton’s features to Paxton and who was more masculine and muscular than the other.
“Okay now, Sydney you’ve got to stop ogling your partner’s Twin” she scolded herself.
Still looking at the time she realised it handy changed from what it was and she felt she needed to go out of the house.
“Damn time seems to be slow when you doing nothing and flies when you are doing something ” she muttered to herself.
She was not one to stay home and do nothing but since she had stated she wanted time to herself she had somehow missed working.
As she walked out of the house with her umbrella because it looked like she would be battling with the rain.
She didn’t want to be caught off guard of course she was cautious.
She took a walk at the pack and then she saw an ice cream truck she halted it and went to work with her mouth and taste buds as she hummed at the vanilla flavour she had chosen.
“This tastes great and also I haven’t done this in so long” she explained to the ice cream seller who smiled at her not knowing how to respond to an adult woman sounding childish.
“You sure love some ice cream don’t you?” she heard a voice from behind and she could be wrong or right but she went with the former.
It was Paxton.
Started by his features she went to ask him why he was at the Pack.
“Well I come here gl relax my head sometimes from the busy world” Paxton replied.
“Oh that is weird, and such a strange coincidence I do that too” Sydney responded.
“Then I guess that makes us both” Paxtom replied with a smile on his face.
