CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 719

"I'm leaving not because he isn't coming back," Nina said, her voice filled with sadness.

She had endured years of being with Nash, never feeling trusted and always summoned and dismissed at his convenience. She was tired of his neglect.

She felt that she had forgiven him too easily and that he did not cherish her. Since that was the case, she decided it was time to stop holding onto false hope.

"Ma'am, please wait a little longer," the security guards pleaded, almost ready to kneel before her.

Nina had lost all patience. No matter what they said, she was determined to leave. She moved forward, her pregnant belly leading the way. The guards, not daring to physically stop her, had no choice but to let her pass.

Nina left without any further hindrance. For safety reasons, the guards followed her to ensure nothing happened to her.

Knowing she couldn't walk far, Nina called someone to pick her up. She decided to go back to her parents' house.

Within ten minutes, Yvonne arrived in her car.

"Nina, what happened? You just reconciled, and now you're leaving again?" Yvonne was confused. She was certain that Nash loved Nina, but she did not expect things to go south so quickly.

Nina got into the car, leaving the guards behind. "Just drive. I'll explain everything."

Seeing anyone associated with Nash only added to Nina's frustration. She realized the depth of her feelings for him, and the bitterness that came with it.

Yvonne started the car and drove away.

On the way, Nina took some time to calm herself, fighting back tears. Once she felt more composed, she began, "It was Nash who got Miranda released."

"What?" Yvonne was shocked. "That can't be. Miranda has harmed you so much, and it's very likely she harmed you even when you were young. Such a person deserves to be in jail. Why would he do that? He's a captain and knows the law. This is not just unethical. It's illegal!"

"I asked him, and he admitted it," Nina said with a bitter smile. She looked at Yvonne. "Do you think he still has feelings for her? Maybe he loved her before and now can't bear to see her suffer, so he's protecting her?"

This was the unresolved issue in Nina's heart. She could not accept the idea that Nash still had feelings for someone else.

Yvonne thought about it and sensed that something was not right. Nina, caught up in her emotions, might not see things as clearly as an outsider.

Having seen Nash go to great lengths for Nina, Yvonne suspected there might be another reason. "Did Nash ever admit to loving Miranda?"

"No," Nina replied softly. "But it wasn't a secret. Back then, everyone was saying Nash liked Miranda."

"What if it was just a rumor?" Yvonne said as she drove. "Miranda would do anything to achieve her goals. There's nothing she wouldn't do. It's possible there was never any real relationship between them."

"There was," Nina insisted. "When he was drunk, he called out her name."

She was sure of it, having heard it from Nash's own lips. During an intoxicated encounter with him, he had called out Miranda's name. That was how the baby was conceived, and it was a wound that had never healed.

"I don't understand," Yvonne said, her theories thwarted.

"Take me to my parents' house," Nina said. From NôvelDrama.Org.

Nina couldn't get past this hurdle, but there was another one she needed to face.

Her parents had hidden something from her.

Why had they lied to her and concealed her past?
