Chapter 947
Chapter 947
The mention of her baby made Rosalie furrow her brows.
"How did you know about my child?"
Vincent stood up, opened the fridge, and grabbed a bottle of beer.
As he pried the cap open, he said, "You married another man while pregnant and the baby is only three months old. That means you were already pregnant when he asked for a divorce, but your baby is with your current husband. That leaves only two possibilities: either your ex-husband knows about the baby but he doesn't want him, or he doesn't know about the baby at all because you don't want him to know about it. I think it's the latter, because he's such a bastard. Why bother having a father like him?"
Tears welled up in Rosalie's eyes. She could feel her throat constrict as she said hoarsely, "He's not a bad man. He's not what you think he is."
"No matter what kind of a man he is, you can't deny that part of him is a philandering bastard."
"Vincent, nobody's perfect. Let's not talk about him anymore. It's all in the past. I grew up with him, after all. I can't bring myself to hate him no matter what happens."
"Got it," Vincent said as he sat back down on the couch. "You spoiled him and made him the bastard he is today."
"Enough," Rosalie said firmly, feeling slightly annoyed. "Can you stop talking, please?"
She grabbed a pillow on the couch and flung it at Vincent.
Vincent felt rather pleased to see her throw a mini tantrum.
He put the pillow aside and said, "Fine, I'll stop."
He pried another bottle of beer open and handed it to Rosalie.
Rosalie felt frustrated enough to grab the cold bottle of beer from him and took a big gulp.
She didn't enjoy drinking. Although beer was fine, her neck still ached from Vincent throttling her just now and her throat hurt as she took a gulp.
She immediately put the bottle down and touched her throat. The pain made her brows furrow.
Vincent saw her face flinch and approached her. He turned her around and lifted her chin. "Let me see."
Her neck had swollen. He almost broke her neck just now.
"I'll get some medication to reduce the swelling."
Vincent was about to stand up when Rosalie grabbed his arm. "No need. It'll be fine in a few days. Don't sweat it."
She didn't want to apply anything on
her neck, it would only make her feel all sticky. She would have to wash it away when she bathed later
anyway. to
Vincent paused for a moment before sitting back next to her. Guilt flashed past his eyes.
"I'm sorry."
Rosalie turned to ask him, "Are you apologizing to Rosalie Young or Youngie?"
This was her first time hearing him apologize to her. He had apologized to her many times before, but it was all meant for Youngie.
Vincent's brows knitted tight. "I told you this has nothing to do with Youngie. Don't talk about her."
Rosalie realized that each time she
mentioned Youngie while he was awake, his expression would go awry. It looked like a mix of
l
frustration and pain, as if Youngie was a taboo that couldn't be touched. to
"Alright, then. I accept your apology as Rosalie."
Vincent stared at her side profile in silence, his eyes glazing over, as if seeing Youngie's shadow from her. A moment later, he tore his gaze away. to
He pulled out a key from his pocket and handed it to Rosalie.
Rosalie looked at him doubtfully. "What's this?"
"You can leave tomorrow morning."
Rosalie looked at him in disbelief. "Are you releasing me early?"
Vincent scoffed. "Listen to yourself! You make it sound as though I'm imprisoning you in here."Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
