lan looked around, grabbed a disposable paper cup prepared on the side, and poured himself a cup of
water. Nathan watched this man. He felt that the man and this cheap paper cup seemed quite
mismatched.
His hand seemed more suitable for holding a wine glass.
The room seemed to automatically divide into two zones.
Everyone and everything else had been ignored since he walked in.
The two people standing in the comer felt the same. They felt a bit awkward.
lan had never used such a paper cup before, and there was a somewhat unpleasant smell when he
brought it to his lips.
He frowned, didn’t drink. He nodded politely to the two people in front of him, as a greeting, then took
the water back into the conference room.
A male employee next to Nathan nudged him, looking a bit surprised.
“Who’s that? Such a strong aura, our CEO isn’t like that.”
Nathan chuckled, “Even the CEO has to bow to him. I don’t know who he is, you should check the
financial papers.”
The two made some comments about their team lead before returning to their desks
When lan returned to his seat with the paper cup, the other people in the scene quieted down..
The president of Silverstone Enterprises even stood up immediately, his face a bit fearful.
“Mr. Raymond, I’m sorry, we didn’t prepare well.”
He signaled to his assistant. The assistant immediately took a specially disinfected glass cup and
poured water for lan.
But lan didn’t drink at all, just listened to them continue discussing the project.
After the meeting, everyone shook hands.
lan walked in front, followed by Jeff. A group of people left the building accompanied by the senior
management of Silverstone Enterprises. After getting in the car, lan didn’t say anything.
Jeff was driving. Through the rear–view mirror, he sneaked a glance at lan. He felt that lan was a bit off
today.
He couldn’t put his finger on it, but something seemed strange.
But lan just looked at the documents on his lap as before, his face expressionless, looking like he was
seriously reviewing work.
After Maja returned to RosenGarden, she received a call from a previous partner who had canceled an
order, telling her the order was restored. She sighed with relief.
She thought about the wound on lan’s back. She felt she should call Holden.
Although she understood Holden’s desire to have his great–grandson, it was a bit too much to punish
lan before the truth was clear.
Moreover, she knew very well that lan agreed to this marriage mainly considering Holden’s health.
Before seven in the evening, Maja was about to call Holden, but received a call from Maria. She said
Holden had sent a bunch of gifts to Rosewood Manor again. When Maja thought of lan’s injuries, she
immediately understood that the old man was compensating her in other ways.
This made her feel a bit helpless.
After ending the call with Maria, she didn’t feel like calling Holden anymore.
After all, for Holden, this was already in the past. Holden’s perception was so sharp, if she mentioned
this topic, he would guess that she already knew about it. Then things might become more
complicated.
Now she decided to hide her identity. If Holden picked up this call, would he call her and her husband NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
over to talk? If so, she couldn’t hide her identity anymore, and the consequences might be worse.
Maja turned on her computer and looked up information on the internet about which ointment was the
best for scar removal.
Thinking about the scars on lan’s body, she felt a bit guilty.
She placed an order for an ointment and had it sent by city express delivery to the hotel where lan was
staying.
When lan heard a knock on the door, he thought it was Jeff. He opened the door only to find the lobby
manager standing outside.
Mr. Raymond, a delivery just arrived for you.”
The delivery bag had a bill of lading on it, lan took the delivery and then closed the door.
He was about to check the name on the delivery bill when the door was knocked again.
He thought it was the lobby manager who had something else to say. He opened the door to find a
frail–looking woman standing outside, looking at him pitifully. “Mr. Raymond.”
Tricia was wearing a thin dress.
