Chapter 309
Maja felt Connie’s eyes burning into her neck, which was kind of weird.
“You got something on your mind?”
Connie quickly shifted her gaze.
“Nah, how you feeling?”
Did you cry last night?
lan actually…
Maja felt a bit puzzled, then chuckled.
“I’m a little under the weather, but I’ll survive.”
Connie blushed even more.
“Good to hear.”
After Maja shut the door, changed into fresh clothes, and stepped out, Connie was still waiting.
They walked together to the other side of the hallway, where a woman was tightly wrapped in clothing,
held by a bodyguard, surrounded by a crowd.
Her legs were shaking. Clearly, she had gone through some stuff last night.
The onlookers were buzzing.
“Never thought she’d pull a stunt like this.”
“She must be Penny, always leading men on, even the bodyguards. Heard they hooked up in Carlene’s
room, which pissed Carlene off.”
“Too bad lan’s still in a meeting and clueless about this.”
The woman’s head was tightly wrapped in the bodyguard’s jacket, trembling non–stop. Carlene,
hearing the chatter, frowned.
Last night, she had Dana bribe the waiter to spike Penny’s drink.
After Penny downed the spiked drink, she had Dana tail her, hoping to catch Penny’s drunken antics on
tape. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
But Dana never returned, and Carlene spent the night somewhere else with the socialites.
When she woke up and returned to her room, she heard moaning from a man and woman inside.
Looks like they had spent the whole night there.
She put on a show of being shocked, and soon enough, everyone on the third floor gathered outside
her door.
Inside the room, Dana, still harassed, felt like crying. She only wanted to tail Penny but ended up in this
room with a drugged–up bodyguard who wouldn’t listen to a word she said.
Hearing the gossip outside, she was scared to death. She was toast if people found out she was here,
especially in front of so many people.
She looked terrible, but then she heard Carlene’s voice outside.
“Is that Penny in there? You seemed off last night. Are you okay?”
Then everyone started talking about Penny.
They all knew Penny was at the pool last night, but then she seemed to have left. They thought she
had left the mansion early, not knowing she was here with a bodyguard.
“She’s got no shame, even though she’s a well–known designer; lan probably won’t dare to let her
design his house now.”
“Among all these rich youngsters, she chose a bodyguard. Suits her reputation.”
“No one else would touch her with a ten–foot pole.”
Everyone burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, Dana had come up with a plan. She quickly ordered the sober bodyguard to cover her
head with his clothing, ready to
make a run for it.
Since Penny had already left the mansion, everyone would think she was Penny. This way, her
reputation wouldn’t be tarnished.
The one with the bodyguard would be seen as the despicable Penny.
Feeling relieved, Dana barked orders at the bodyguard.
“From now on, you call me Penny. Whether you know who Penny is or not, just call me that. Otherwise,
I’ll call the cops, and you’ll spend the rest of your life in jail!”
The bodyguard was scared. He had just casually sipped a drink from Sandy last night and never
thought it would turn out like this. He didn’t resist and nodded right away.
He used his jacket to cover Dana, hiding her identity.
The moment the door opened, everyone outside was ready for a spectacle.
Carlene was especially amused.
“Penny, if you want to shack up with the bodyguard, at least don’t take my room. Good thing I didn’t
come back last night. Otherwise, it would’ve been awkward.”
Everyone started speculating why Carlene didn’t return to her room
Did she go to lan’s room?
