Chapter 350
Chapter 350
In the end, Victoria hung up on Alaric feeling rather flustered.
She was feeling extremely complicated as she leaned back in her office hair
The terms she spelled out were undeniably unfair to Alaric.
She wanted him to spend his time and his money caring for the children without
getting anything in return. He wouldn’t have custody of them, and they wouldn’t
address him as their father.
In a way, he was basically raising someone else’s children.
Even though they were related to him by blood, their last name was Selwyn, and they
weren’t going to call him their father.
Considering his power and status, he could easily refuse to agree to her terms and
strong–arm her into doing what he wanted.
Instead, he agreed to everything, and even….
Victoria rubbed her forehead and gave herself a warning.

“This is just a vicious ploy of his. You can’t trust him so easily. Don’t forget about the
pain just because the wounds have healed. Everything’s in the past. He’s no longer the
Alaric you knew when you were little.”
Victoria kept lecturing herself until she finally stopped her heart from being swayed.
Once she regained her composure, she threw herself back into her work.
When it was time to get off work, Victoria packed up and headed down only to spot a
familiar black car stopped outside the building. It was clearly waiting for her.
Alaric was leaning against the side of the car. He was drawing quite a number of eyes.
It was the end of the day, and people were getting off work. Most people recognized
Alaric. They were so shocked to see him that they stopped and gathered together to
discuss his presence.
Victoria was behind them. When she saw what was happening, she immediately took a
few steps back and ducked into a corner.
She didn’t notice that Alaric just so happened to look over in her direction and spotted
her mad dash for cover.

Victoria exhaled relief when she was safely hidden in the corner.
He’s impossible. I thought we already settled everything. Why does he keep going
against what we agreed on? Why did he come here to my office?
Does he want everyone to know about our history?
Just then, Victoria’s phone started ringing. Once she saw the name on the screen, she
immediately put her phone on silent. She didn’t want to take the call.
Hang on… Isn’t he out there waiting for me?
Why did he suddenly call me? Did he see me just now?
If he did see me…
Victoria frowned and answered the call.
“Why did you run off after spotting me?”
True enough, as soon as the call connected, Victoria heard Alaric questioning her.
No wonder he called me. He spotted me earlier.

Victoria leaned against the wall and asked curtly, “Why did you come here?
“I brought a signed copy of the agreement over, and since I’ll be passing through the
area, I’ll give you a ride home too.”
“Passing through?”
Victoria didn’t see any sign of him simply intending to pass through the area.
Her doubtful remark made Alaric change his answer. “Alright. I came to pick you up,
and since I was coming over anyway, I decided to bring the agreement along too.”
Victoria was speechless.
She took a deep breath to calm herself down before she allowed herself to smile stiffly.
“I thought we had an agreement, Alaric.”
“Mhrn,” he hummed in acknowledgment.
“What are you doing now, then? You asked me to look at the design plans this morning,
and
you brought the agreement over now. What’s it going to be tomorrow? Are you
going to come up with all sorts of excuses to show up in front of me every day?”

Alaric didn’t respond, but from the looks of it, it seemed like he was silently affirming
what she said.
Victoria was deeply frustrated. She sighed and said, “I only agreed to let you help out
with the children for their sakes. I don’t want to have anything to do with you. You don’t
need to pick me up from work. It’s affecting my life. Understood?”
“Understood,” he responded sullenly.
However, Victoria wasn’t relieved by his answer. He sounded too strange. Even though
he said he understood, she got a feeling that he was still going to do whatever he
wanted.
True enough, Alaric continued, “But I don’t think I affected your life.”
Victoria was dumbfounded.
“How’s this not affecting my life?”
Alaric remained silent for a while before announcing, “Regardless of whether I pick your
up, you’ll still need to take the children to school and get off work. If I come over, you’ll
be able to save on petrol and breakfast expenses.”
He had paid for breakfast.

“Are you saying that I should be thanking you right now?” Victoria retorted.
“There’s no need for that,” Alaric refuted in all seriousness. “It’s only right for me to help
out the mother of my children.”
Victoria could feel her blood boiling.
She had no desire to talk to him.
“Come out. I’m waiting for you.”
Just in case she refused, Alaric even added, “Don’t keep the children waiting.”
Victoria was dumbstruck.
He knew exactly what to use against her.
Nonetheless, she didn’t want to get into his car right in front of the crowd.
Alaric seemed to have read her mind as he suddenly commented, “Once we sign the
agreement, there’ll be a lot of such instances. Everyone will find out about my
relationship with the children sooner or later. You can’t keep it hidden forever.”
He was right, of course.

“Fine.”
Victoria hung up in annoyance and headed over to Alaric under everyone’s shocked
gazes.
A smile crept across Alaric’s face when he spotted her. He courteously opened the
door for her like a peacock strutting around with his fan of feathers all spread out.
In order to avoid the stares from the company employees, Victoria swiftly got into the
car.
Thump.
As the car door closed, Victoria caught the eyes of the driver up front. The driver saw
her complicated gaze and grinned. “Miss Selwyn.”
Victoria nodded back in greeting.
Alaric quickly got in, and soon, the car drove off toward the school.
Alaric passed the signed agreement over to Victoria.
“I had Terrance make two copies and I signed both. There’s still some time before we
arrive at the school. You can check to see if there are any problems.”

Victoria took the agreement from him. Originally, she didn’t intend on checking it during
the car ride as she didn’t think it was good for her eyes.
Nevertheless, since Alaric made the suggestion, she decided to comply. It would only
be a few pages anyway.
As soon as she began reading the first few lines, a pair of large hands appeared in front
of her.
“Actually, it’s not good to read while we’re in the car. Let’s put it away first. You can take
a look at it when you’re back home.”
He placed both copies back inside the envelope before Victoria could even react.
“What do you mean? Did you do something to the agreement?” Victoria queried.
Alaric paused. He didn’t expect her to say that. Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
“What?”
“Why else would you stop me halfway?”
Victoria stared at Alaric suspiciously.
He went silent for a while before he finally said, “It’s bad for your eyes to be read when
the car’s moving.”
Victoria could feel herself feeling annoyed yet again.
“Are you toying with me? Weren’t you the one who asked me to check the agreement
just now?”
Alaric looked at her seriously. “It didn’t occur to me just now. You can check the
agreement when you get home.”
