Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 605

Chapter 605

"Am I evil? If Chloe doesn't get taken out, we're both done for!"

Lisa was boiling with anger. But what really got under her skin was how this rat of a man could be so utterly useless. She feared they'd never get another shot at getting rid of Chloe. And now, with the whole fiasco involving Linda, the entire town was buzzing with gossip. Ricky, for sure, wouldn't escape this mess. But letting him fall into the cops' hands? Not happening.

Her eyes drifted to the gun tucked in Ricky's coat pocket. Meanwhile, Ricky was lost in his own little world, dreaming about his future days in Las Vegas.

"Sure, I didn't help you kill Chloe, but I took the fall for murder for you. As long as I jet out of here, you can keep living your squeaky-clean life. If I stick around, peace is the last thing you'll have."

"Ricky, what's that supposed to mean?"

"It means you still owe me the fifty million you promised."

Ricky wasn't sweating the small stuff. He knew he couldn't hang around here, and Lisa would make sure he got out. His only worry was that Lisa might renege on their deal since the plan flopped. Without that fifty million, what was the point of heading to Vegas?

Lisa caught his drift and replied coolly, "Relax, everything's set up for you. You won't be shortchanged a penny." Ricky's face broke into a wide grin. "Ms. Lisa, you really know how to play the game. I misjudged you before."

The car zipped along the freeway before finally pulling up in the Moonlight Residential Area. It was a rundown old neighborhood, with hardly any residents left and buildings on the brink of collapse. But Ricky knew this place like the back of his hand. It was his turf.

Lisa hopped out of the car. Ricky followed suit, trailing after her. "Why are we here? Weren't we supposed to head to the airport?"Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Lisa explained, "Everything I got ready for you is in your place. You need to grab your passport and new ID, right?"

Ricky's mood shifted quickly. "Let's grab the stuff and scram. No time to waste. The cops will be on us soon."

He rushed inside, eyes scanning the room until he spotted a big black suitcase. He made a beeline for it, but Lisa got there first, pulling it behind her.

"Lisa, what are you up to?"

"Ricky, this suitcase has everything you need. Fifty million in dollars, a new identity, passport, and plane ticket. With these, you can head to paradise and start fresh."

Ricky's eyes lit up. Las Vegas, the ultimate gambler's paradise. "Hand it over, now."

But Lisa took a step back. "I'm not just giving this to you for nothing. If you blow through the cash and come crawling back, that won't fly. This money closes the book on us. From now on, we're strangers."

"Alright, alright, whatever you say."

All Ricky wanted was to grab the cash and bolt. Hanging around was way too risky.

Lisa spoke up again, "Hand over the video, and we're square."

Ricky seemed momentarily stumped.

"Video? What video?"

Lisa's expression turned serious. "Ricky, don't play dumb. You've got that video of me from back then, right?"

Ricky suddenly remembered. For years, he'd been holding it over Lisa, claiming he had footage of her killing John. And she bought it.

Ricky burst into laughter. "Video? There's no video. Don't worry, I never recorded anything back then."
