Flirting With My Ex-Husband

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

“Yo, Sister-In-Law, what’s the matter? Are you running away from home?”

Scarlett Reed was just walking down from the second floor with her suitcase when Tiffany Shaw’s sarcastic voice came right after.

Instead of acknowledging her, Scarlett only took a slight glance at her and continued to walk down the stairs with her suitcase.

Coincidentally, she ran into Raymond Shaw’s mom as soon as she reached the first floor. Jean Larson, the rich woman who had always looked down on her, cast a sidelong glance at her. “Where are you going with a suitcase this early in the morning?” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Having been Jean’s daughter-in-law for three years, how could Scarlett not know that this was a sign of trouble?

If it was in the past, she would have carefully apologized and coaxed her mother-in-law. Nonetheless, things were different this time. She did not want Raymond anymore, hence she would not even serve this bad-tempered old lady anymore.

“Anywhere is good. Don’t worry, Mrs. Shaw, I won’t come back to the Shaw Residence anymore.”

Unlike how dutiful and gentle Scarlett used to be, although she spoke indifferently, her eyes did not show the usual look to please. The coldness in them made her look different.

Jean was very not used to her daughter-in-law, who had always bowed down to her in the past, suddenly talking back to her like this. Her face instantly darkened, “Scarlett Reed, is this how you treat an elder?”

“How you treat me is how I’ll treat you.”

Scarlett raised her good-looking eyebrow. Her incomprehensible arrogance and coolness made Jean furious. “Scarlett, do you still take me as your mother-in-law?”

Upon hearing that, Scarlett looked at Jean and curled her lips into a smile. “I’m sorry. Soon, you won’t be my mother-in-law anymore.”

As soon as she finished, the sound of a car horn was heard coming from outside the villa.

Scarlett raised an eyebrow and said, “I’m leaving, Mrs. Shaw. Everything I left behind in the room is unwanted, so you can do whatever you like with them. Whether you throw them away or burn them, just remember—don’t contact me anymore.”

As she spoke, she leisurely dragged her suitcase out and uttered, “The Shaw family is too disgusting.”

Jean had not yet come back to her senses from when Scarlett said that she would soon not be her mother-in-law anymore, then she heard her say something like that. She was fuming with her. “Scarlett, are you out of your mind? Believe it or not, I’ll tell Ray that you—”

“Mom, did you see that woman, Scarlett? She’s really funny. It’s early in the morning, and she’s actually dragging her suitcase. Hahaha, she didn’t walk past me on purpose so that I’ll ask her to stay, right?”

Tiffany walked out of the villa. Seeing as Jean stood there without moving at all, she could not help but lift her hand and tug at her sleeve. “Mom, what’s wrong with you?”

Jean had a complicated look on her face. In the past, Scarlett would behave well whenever she mentioned Raymond. This time, heck, she actually left without looking back.

Outside the door, the sports car drove off fast. By the time Jean walked out the door, she could only see its shadow.

“She, she left?”

Tiffany followed her outside and curled her lips. “So be it. Julie is back. If she doesn’t leave now, Elder Brother will kick her out sooner or later!”

Jean thought the same. The Woods family’s youngest daughter had returned. Scarlett would be quite sensible if she could ask for a divorce.

At this moment, the sensible Scarlett was flipping through the divorce agreement in a Porsche. After reading the terms and conditions, she signed her name with satisfaction.

Alexis Carter, who was driving on the side, saw her and clicked her tongue. “You’re really doing it just like that?”

Scarlett put the pen cap back on and asked, “If not?”

Raymond’s dream girl had returned. What else could she hope for?

It had been three years, which was neither a long nor a short time. Scarlett thought that even the coldest heart could be moved.

Even so, Raymond did not have a heart. His heart was with his dream girl.

Scarlett wondered if she was too shameless. Back then, she forcefully asked for something in return by asking Raymond to marry her and took up the title of Mrs. Shaw for three years. Now that Julie Woods was back, she naturally had to step aside. If not, how would it be fair to Raymond, who had remained chaste for Julie these three years?

Fortunately, this matter was secretive enough and did not spread. Otherwise, those people who laughed at Scarlett for playing up to someone with power and influence for three years might think about how they could add insult to injury.

Three years—this was enough. At least, it was worthy of her seven-year crush when she did not know any better.

Scarlett raised her hand to cover her eyes and block her tears. She did not let Alexis see.

She was human, after all. No matter how cool she was, such an ending for a love of ten years would be difficult to bear for anyone.

The red sports car stopped. Alexis lifted the shades on her face. “We’re here. Lettie, don’t hesitate to rush forward, Lexi will always follow you!”

Once Alexis finished, she sent Scarlett a flying kiss.

Scarlett looked at her and smiled. “Alright, I’m going to war.”

That was what it was. It was indeed a difficult thing to throw the divorce agreement in front of Raymond domineeringly yet without losing demeanor.

Scarlett took the agreement and pushed the door open to get out of the car. She had been married for three years, hence this is not her first time at Tenton. Of course, this was also not her first time being brushed off by the receptionist. “Miss Reed, you can’t go up without an appointment. Mr. Shaw is very busy. If everyone can go up without an appointment and by just telling me, why am I here?”

A little receptionist could even make things difficult for Scarlett. It had been three years, yet she was never addressed as Mrs. Shaw. One did not need to think that the root of the matter was that Raymond simply did not regard her as anything.

Scarlett looked down and chuckled. “Tenton’s employee training is bad indeed. As Raymond Shaw’s wife, I also have to make an appointment to go up to see him. It seemed that being Mrs. Shaw is meaningless.”

As she spoke, she looked coldly at that receptionist and walked straight to the elevator in high heels.

The receptionist was stunned for a while as it was her first time seeing Scarlett acting like that. She sneered when she came back to her senses but in the end, she quickly made a call to notify someone above, afraid that something would happen.

Before Scarlett had arrived, Raymond knew she was coming up.

He frowned and said, “I won’t meet her.”

He had a short meeting in five minutes.

The secretary responded to him and left. Just as he left the office, he saw Scarlett walking over in high heels.

Scarlett wore a floral tunic knee-length A-line dress today. She looked gentle and dignified but when she looked over, the secretary somehow felt that something about her was different today.

“Secretary Lewis.”

Scarlett took the initiative to greet him. Not waiting for him to say anything, she directly lifted her hand to push open the door of Raymond’s office. “Excuse me, Mr. Shaw, I have an agreement for you to sign.”

As she spoke, she met the cold gaze of the man in front of the office desk and walked over. Following that, she raised her hand and directly put the divorce agreement in her hand in front of him. “Sign it.”
