Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 560

Facing the possibility of blindness is definitely better than losing your life.

Everyone there knew that if it weren't for Flora, the patient might not be alive right now.

"Young lady, I owe you an apology for my earlier behavior."

Dr. Wenz was the kind of person who could own up to his mistakes. He immediately apologized to Flora, realizing he had underestimated her because of her age. Flora waved it off, indicating it was no big deal.

"Dr. Ray, I need to step out for a bit," she said, her exhaustion evident.

She stood there, upright and composed. Dr. Ray detected an unusual warmth in her tone, usually reserved for Jules, and was pleasantly surprised. "Go ahead, take a break," he quickly replied. Flora nodded and left the operating room.

Outside, her senior peers in the lab were still in shock, watching her in stunned silence. They were so taken aback by what had just happened that they forgot to speak to her. It was only after she walked away that they snapped out of it.

"Flora, that was incredible..." one of them finally said.

She was just a freshman, yet she had performed a surgery that even seasoned medical professors like Dr. Wenz found challenging, and she did it with ease.

Alexa's fists clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white. The Flora she once looked down on had now become someone she admired from afar. She felt a deep sense of resentment. Not wanting to hear any more praises about Flora, Alexa turned and stormed off.

"Dr. Ray, what's the story with this young protégé of yours?" one of the doctors asked as they came out of the operating room, still burning with curiosity about Flora's background.

Dr. Ray often brought his disciples to observe and participate in surgeries, and they were familiar with students like Darcy and Shawn. But Flora was new to them.

Dr. Ray smiled mysteriously, saying nothing.

"Come on, you've struck gold with her. Stop being so secretive. Where did she come from?"

"Her name's Flora. She's this year's top national scholar and my newest disciple," Dr. Ray said, his pride evident.

"So, she's just a freshman?!"

The doctors were amazed once again. A freshman with such skill-her future achievements could be extraordinary. Having talent like hers was a blessing for the medical field!

"Flora! Flora! Flora! Ugh!" Alexa screamed in frustration as she walked through the hospital's back garden. Why was life so unfair? Flora had everything, while she had nothing! "Help! Help!" A series of urgent cries broke through her thoughts. Alexa instinctively headed towards the noise and found a man in a suit convulsing on the ground. She immediately noticed the suit was expensive. Narrowing her eyes, she rushed over.

"Help me..." the man weakly opened his eyes, gasping, "I am Mr. Otto from the Brimer family of Maple Grove. If you save me... I will grant you endless glory and riches..."

The Brimer family of Maple Grove? Alexa's heart skipped a beat. This was her chance!

...

Dr. Ray was doing a headcount, getting ready to head back to the lab, when he noticed someone was missing.

"Where's Alexa?"

Everyone shook their heads. No one knew where she had gone.

Dr. Ray frowned, growing increasingly impatient with Alexa. Leaving without a word-how irresponsible!

"Alright, let's not wait for her. Let's head back."

"Yes, sir."

Everyone boarded the coach bus. The ride back was filled with excited chatter, all about Flora's spectacularly executed surgery.
