Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 572

Crimson glared at her, then swept his gaze over the table loaded with food. "Can't even spare some for a meal?"

It wasn't like it was anything fancy, just some home-cooked dishes.

Flora sighed, knowing she'd never win an argument with Crimson.

Connor's eyes lingered on the chopsticks Crimson was holding. He squinted slightly before ordering someone to bring a new set.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

No one else could use anything Flora had used, not even if they were a girl.

Crimson caught on to Connor's thoughts and clicked her tongue in annoyance.

What a possessive man.

His possessiveness was off the charts!

The new cutlery arrived quickly, and Crimson casually picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork rib and took a bite.

Flora always went on about how amazing Connor's cooking was.

Crimson never bought into it, thinking Flora was just lovestruck.

Connor, a pampered rich kid, could cook, which was surprising enough, but how good could it actually be?

But one bite shut her up.

The ribs were so tender they practically melted in her mouth, and the sauce exploded with a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors. The meat was rich but not greasy, especially the sauce that coated her taste buds, leaving a memorable impression.

Crimson couldn't help but swallow and reached for another piece.

Seeing Crimson enjoy the food, Louie and Rafael couldn't resist grabbing their chopsticks to try some too.

They were often away for work, mostly eating takeout or at restaurants until they were sick of it. It was rare to have such a delicious home-cooked meal, almost bringing them to tears.

They couldn't help but serve themselves a few more portions.

The rest of the group, initially hesitant and wary of Connor, saw how Crimson and the others were unapologetically devouring the food and couldn't resist joining in.

Within minutes, only scraps were left on the table.

Flora was fuming.

She hadn't even gotten to eat yet!

Crimson and the others weren't full either. With so many people and not enough food, they'd only had a few bites each.

"Flora, sweetheart, you must be starving, right?" Crimson's eyes sparkled mischievously as she turned to Flora.

Flora glared back, annoyed. What do you think?

"Mr. Connor, your fiancée is still hungry. It wouldn't be too much to ask for you to cook another meal, right?"

Crimson then turned to Connor, "And make some extra for us to stay and eat together."

Flora was stunned.

The nerve!

"Don't make them anything!"

She huffed, a bit petulantly.

Connor knew Flora too well; she only showed this side of herself around those close to her.

These people were important to Flora.

And because of that, he wasn't going to hold a grudge.

"Sweetie, wait for me."

Connor's hand rested on Flora's head, gently ruffling her hair before he strode into the kitchen to whip up something for her.

He didn't care about the others, but his Flora was still hungry.

"Really, getting all upset over him cooking another meal?"

Back in the room, Flora was still sulking when Crimson spoke irritably, "Have you forgotten how those jerks treated you at Empire Base? Now that they're on our turf, we need to show them they can't mess with you just because you have backup."

Crimson's words reminded Flora of her initial struggles at Empire Base, where everyone looked down on her.

She had endured a lot back then. Now that Connor and the others were here, it wouldn't be right not to stand up for herself, right?

After a moment, Flora added, "Just don't bully Connor."

Crimson and the others shared a knowing smile.

So, aside from Connor, they were free to boss around everyone else, right?
