Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 628

Dr. Ray's patience finally snapped!

Everyone in the meeting room was glaring at Alexa, their annoyance and disdain plain as day. Even with her usually thick skin, Alexa couldn't handle it anymore and bolted out, covering her face. The colleague closest to the door slammed it shut with a harsh "thud."

No one cared where Alexa went or what she did.

Dr. Ray adjusted his glasses and continued, "Shawn, I'll send you the review materials later. Please get them printed. The competition is in ten days. Let's work hard these next few days for the honor of the University of Maple Grove!"

Shawn nodded vigorously, his face all serious. Representing the University of Maple Grove against the medical organization was a huge honor for him!

"If anyone else wants to join the competition, submit your registration forms by noon today. Alright, meeting adjourned."

...

Alexa stormed out of the lab, seething at the thought of Dr. Ray and the others sticking up for Flora. But she quickly cooled down. There was no point in getting so worked up.

The higher you climb, the harder you fall.

The University of Maple Grove didn't stand a chance against the medical organization, and Flora's participation would only end in failure. Eventually, she'd face criticism from everyone in Austenberg. With that thought, Alexa felt a bit better.

"Ding ding ding-"

Her phone rang, and seeing 'Mr. Otto' flashing on the screen, she clenched her phone tighter.

"Hello..."

"How's the task I gave you?"

Alexa suddenly remembered Hudson's request to get Flora to see him for a medical consultation.

"I've talked to Flora. She said she'd think about it," Alexa said, her voice shaky, before quickly hanging up.

Hudson wasn't someone you could easily fool. If she couldn't get Flora to comply... The thought of Hudson's cold stare made her heart race.

Back in the lab, the meeting was already over.

"Flora, come here, I need to talk to you!" She walked up to Flora, pounding the table.

Flora looked up, her gaze lazy and indifferent.

"What do you want now?" Darcy snapped, clearly annoyed, thinking Alexa was there to cause trouble again.

"Flora's busy prepping for the competition. Don't bother her."

"..."

Alexa was practically grinding her teeth in frustration. Asking Flora for a favor was more than she could stomach. But Hudson was impatient...

All morning, Darcy and the others shielded Flora, making it almost impossible for Alexa to get close. Her phone was blowing up with calls from Hudson, each one making her more anxious.

Close to noon, she found Flora alone heading to the restroom and cornered her at the bathroom entrance.

Flora leaned against the wall, her posture relaxed, casually observing Alexa.

"You need a favor from me?"

That one word, "favor," made Alexa bristle like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

"How could I possibly need a favor from you! Flora, I'm here to save you!"

"Oh?" Flora's smirk deepened, sending shivers down Alexa's spine.

Hearing the word "family," Flora's eyes narrowed slightly, her laid-back demeanor shifting just a bit.

Alexa watched her expression
