Chapter 958
Eating away at what lies beneath. The bodyguards swallowed their anger, keeping silent.
"Ms. Flora, want me to teach her a lesson?" Beck asked earnestly, thinking the woman was begging for it. He wasn't Moss, the type to avoid confrontation with women. Annoying women were meant to be put in their place, unless they were his own, who deserved to be cherished.
Flora stayed calm, gave Candace a frosty glance, and walked past her into the shop. To Flora, dealing with Candace wasn't worth Beck's effort.
"Acting all superior! Isn't it just because of a man that you got where you are?" Candace sneered, having heard from Jaden that Flora's status wasn't that high, just someone who had climbed into Connor's bed. Just like her. Why did Flora act so high and mighty? "Ms. Candace, how about we shop somewhere else?" The bodyguard really wanted to avoid a clash between Candace and Flora.
"Why should I?" Candace's eyes widened, her belligerent side emerging without Jaden around: "I want to go in!"
She didn't know much about antiques, nor did she care, but she had money! Jaden had given her ten million; she could buy whatever she pleased!
"Miss, what are you looking for? Our shop has it all!" The shopkeeper quickly approached Flora as she entered. He had an eye for things, and Flora's aura told him she wasn't just any customer. A big deal. "I'm just browsing."
"Of course." The shopkeeper smiled politely.
"I want to buy something. Recommend something to me." Candace walked in, annoyed at the attention Flora was getting from the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper shot her a dismissive look and turned back to the counter. Who was she trying to impress here? In the black market, he wasn't afraid of her.
Turning back to Flora with a smile, he said, "Miss, just let me know if you need anything." His demeanor toward Candace was a world apart, leaving her stomping in frustration, eyes brimming with anger. "Shopkeeper, can I see that?" Flora pointed at a jade piece, which was of decent quality.
The shopkeeper nodded, about to take it out when a sharp voice interrupted.
"I'll take that!"
Flora frowned, meeting Candace's challenging glare.
"The lady saw it first," the shopkeeper said, placing the jade in front of Flora.
"She hasn't paid yet!" Candace protested boldly, "Isn't your shop here to make money? I'll pay double!"
"A bidding war?" Beck chuckled, amused by someone trying to outspend Flora, "Double is too skimpy, we'll pay ten times!"
It wasn't his money, anyway.
Flora gave him a look, ten times? Got too much money and nowhere to spend it?
"It's yours Flora said lazily, past Candace to the painting section.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

It wasn't anything special to begin with; if she wanted to be a sucker, let her.
Candace smirked, "It's yours," really? She couldn't afford it, yet talked about ten times.
"One million, pay up," the shopkeeper said to Candace after seeing Flora's disinterest.
"One million?! You're ripping me off!" Candace shrieked. That was a million!!!
"Can't afford it?" The shopkeeper smirked at her unsophisticated outrage. She couldn't hold a candle to Flora. "How could I not afford it!"

"What's going on?" A gentle voice
came from the entrance, as a man strode in. Seeing him, Candace immediately shifted gears: "Shu Yu."
