Rita’s POV

We felt alive after the electricity coursing between our lips.

As we pulled away, our eyes met and we couldn’t help but smile. A smile that conveyed the realization that something special had just transpired.

I gently wiped my lip gloss stained on his lips while he tucked the fallen strands of my ear to the back of ear.

“Come, let’s return to the party” He got on his foot and I interlinked my arm with him as we walked back together.

We uninterlocked our arms once we were standing in front of the entrance.

Surprisingly, the guests have left. It wasn’t a long night party anyways.

“Where have you two been?” Adam asked.

“Why would you just leave the party Rita?” Evelyn queried.

“You never even notice my absence” I rolled my eyes. She was all over her boyfriend today that she didn’t have my time.

“Finn, I thought you left. It’s late” Adam said.

“Ugh.. where’s everyone? I can’t believe party’s over. I never even joined the party” Finn muttered.

“Oh well, since it’s just we four. Let’s have a small party at the dinning table” Evelyn suggested.

“Good idea, I haven’t even had anything. Where’s the cake and wine” I stroded over to the dining table.

Woah! The event planner has done a great job.

“Everything is set just in time”

“Finn” Adam whispered his name when Evelyn and Rita had gone to the table.

“Hey! Celebrant” Finn grinned.

“How is it going?” He asked Finn when they were beyond the girls’ sights and listening.

“Are you talking about your birthday or …?”

“Of course, how is it going between you and Rita?” Adam inquired and Finn smiled widely.

“Woah!”

“Uhm so apparently, I made Zane ghost her forever. And uhm, Rita loves me so much, obviously” Finn told him.

“Aww you ignited the spark. Such a love doctor you are!” Adam remarked.

One might think these two guys were play boys.

“I am absolutely sure that it is gonna work out between Rita and I. I swear, I will never ever recall the past while we are gonna live a happy ever after life. The end of Zane” Finn applauded inaudibly.

“I am very happy for you guys”

“Thank you for everything Adam. Thank you for always being by my side from the beginning to the end” Finn tapped his friend’s back and he chuckled. “I hope you enjoyed your birthday party”

“I did. Although, I am not a fan of parties. Also, I am not a fan of surprises but this particular one, got me bewildered! I wish you saw the shock on my face!” Adam yaked.

Finn sneered and lightly hit him;”Like you were truly shocked, ugh!”

“Believe me, I was shocked! Flabbergasted!”

“Then you must be a Cinderella not a guy” Finn teased. “Evelyn pulled this up, she has really tried. You had better take good care of that girl”

“We’re soulmates? Did you see it?” Adam exclaimed.

“Sort of, I mean Evelyn truly loves you, I feel you two are compatible. And if you ever break her heart, that makes you a very evil guy!” Finn warned and he nodded slowly.

“Guys! Where are you? Where did you go?” We heard Evelyn’s voice coming closer, so we came out quickly.

“What are you doing?” She stared at us suspiciously.

“We…we’re just talking” Adam tried not to stutter.

“I wonder how you two suddenly clicked” She looked at them like they were gays.

“Let’s go have our small after-party” Finn changed the topic instantly.

“Ugh!! Uhm.. errr… Rita’s knocked down” Evelyn announced.

“What?” Finn exclaimed.

“I mean… she’s wasted!”

“Why did you let her drink?” Finn rushed over where she was swinging the seat, he caught her when she almost fell off.

“Rita doesn’t drink”

“I know right, I only allowed her drink few bottles because we were partying” Evelyn panicked.

“Oh my God Rita! She’s drunk”

“What do you mean, I’m drunk? I’m not drunk. You are the one who is drunk” Rita pointed at Finn and wanted to grab another bottle but he snatched it from her and Adam helped cleared the other bottles.

“Give me that bottle ” She stretched her hand, tryna reach for it.

“We are leaving. Let’s go home!” Finn announced.

He spread his arms, so he could carry her but instead of Rita to jump on to his arms, she stared at him dreamily and smiled.

“Caught between the euphoria of a kiss” She pouts her lips and leaned forward, she almost fell again.

Adam chuckled, giving Finn a knowing look.

“We are leaving!” Finn bent and carried her in bridal style.

Evelyn helped opened the entrance door, then car door.

Finn placed Rita in the front seat and fasten the belt across her chest, so she won’t fall down again.

She had slept off in the car and jerked up immediately I pulled the break when I arrived at my place.

Her peaceful sleepy expression filled me with a sense of tenderness and protectiveness.

Again, I carried her on my back and took her straight to my room; laid her down properly on my bed and gently covered her with the warm blanket.

I yanked off my heavy suit jacket, unknotted the tie and took off my shirt. I changed into a pyjamas short without the upper wear because I have had enough heavy clothings today.

I watched Rita’s sleepy face and both the bitter and sweet memories we have had together flooded my mind.

Lost in my thoughts, I traced the contours of her face with my finger tips. I leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, silently expressing the love and adoration I have for her.

Now I laid down properly to sleep; as I turned to face the other side, I suddenly felt a hand wrapping around my waist and her body contacted mine.

“Cuddle me like you did the last time” She whispered into my ears.

Ugh!

First, I was shocked she was awake; secondly, she was aware that I cuddled her the last time we slept on the same bed.

I turned to face her,

She had this pleading eyes as she gently caressed my chest like she has never done such.

I moved closer to her and wrapped my hands round her waist; kissed her deeply as Ipressed my body against hers even though she reeked of alcohol.

“I don’t want physical intimacy” She broke the kiss and shook her head slowly.

“I want romance Finn; cuddle me, kiss me over and over again. I need you to caress me all you want Finn” Rita kinda pleaded, in a soft moan.
