Rita’s POV

I peeped at Finn during the closing hours in an obvious way so he could catch me engrossingly staring at him.

“You’re playing hide and seek now?” He rounded up his work and paid attention to me.

I scoffed: “Who’s playing games with you? I just came to say, Hi, Bye because I’m leaving” I dramatised.

“We are leaving. I’ll drop you off at home and when I say home, I mean ‘at my house’ which will soon be ‘our house’, you should consider relocating soon” He winked at me as he drew nearer.

“Oh my dear, you wish! In your dreams” I turned to leave.

“Are you still mad at me?” Finn asked.

“Uhm, nope. I don’t know” I murmured.

“Vanessa already left before I returned to the office” He told me.

“Are you sure she didn’t only walk out of your office but out of your life too?” I grumbled.

“That would be the last we’ll see of her, I promise” He embraced me from behind.

I heaved a sigh of relief.

“I said don’t touch me” I shouted and immediately released myself from him.

“And bye, don’t drop me off, neither am I coming to your place” I shunned.

“But why are you like this Rita?” He was pained.

“Finn I meant it when I said you should go for a medical check up before you even think of touching me” I reminded him, crossing my hands and moving away from him.

“Rita” I could see it in his eyes that he felt really bad.

“I’m sorry” I exhaled lightly, feeling bad as well for treating him this way. “But I just have to do this. You had a dirty past and I’m clean, we’re unlike”

“We have done all sort of…” He paused and sighed; “Okay, I’ll take the medical test” He finally accepted.

“Thank you” I whispered.

“Can I at least kiss you?” Finn teased.

Although I craved for his smoochy lips on mine, yet I pronounced ” NO” and walked straight out of the office. “See you tomorrow, boyfriend”

To be sincere, it was very hard ignoring Finn and avoiding physical touch.

He sent his driver to make sure I get home safely.

“Who taught you how to be so romantic Finn? Didn’t you say I am your first love uhm?” I said as soon as I picked up his phone call.

“Well, the one who barely loves, loves hard” He replied and I giggled.

“I hope you are not mad at me?”

Funny how we asked each other this question at the same time.

We laughed together.

“I’m not mad at you, infact I am taking the test tomorrow” He announced.

“I’ll come with you if you don’t mind, afterall I brought up this idea”

“Sure. Then Marriage compatibility test it is”

“Finn, you are really serious about marrying me?” I mumbled softly.

“Of course. What’s the purpose of being in a relationship if it’s not to end up together?” He asked.

“You are right but you know, sometimes it doesn’t always work out” I referred to Zane and I.

“Forever is the deal Babe, trust me”

I blushed.

“Let’s talk via Kikachat, it’s very convenient there”

“Kikachat?” He exclaimed. “Oh! I’m not a social media kind of person, I do not have an account there”

“I can’t believe you. You don’t have a Kikachat account?”

“I’ll create one right now because of you”

“Nevermind” I blurted. “I’m used to switching to kikachat because I do that with my ex boyfriend, so nevermind”

“Oh!” I heard him mutter.

“As you wish my love”

I wanted to keep the conversation going…

“Is there anything you are not telling me Finn? ”

I’ve been wondering when he was gonna tell me what I already found out.

“Ugh.. nothing” Finn replied without thinking twice.

“Are you sure about that?”

“I… am.. not so sure” He stuttered.

“We mustn’t keep secret away from eachother, so I have to spill this out before it turns into a secret”

“You are free to lie to me if the truth will break my heart” Finn rizzed and I giggled.

“C’mon, I don’t wanna lie to you. It’s nothing serious, it’s just your personal assistant, Charles. He wants to date me”

“What?” Finn exclaimed just as I expected.

“It’s been pretty obvious that he likes me so much”

“So, you are gonna give him a chance? Remember how far we have come”

I laughed out loud; “Oh now you remember how you bothered me to be your girlfriend even when you clearly knew that I was in a relationship ”

“That’s not what you are gonna do now right?” I could sense fear in his voice.

“No babe, no one will snatch me from you okay?”

He heaved a sigh of relief.

“I have to put a ring on your finger before someone does”

“Also, no one should snatch you away from me, not even Vanessa”

“Vanessa” He muttered. “Since we are confessing our secret, then I must spill this out”

“I’m all ears”

“First of all Rita, I need you to believe that our love will conquer all” He resumed.

I didn’t say anything but listened attentively to what he has to say. Was he finally gonna confess?

“It’s about Vanessa” Finn said.

“Vanessa?” What about Vanessa? I wasn’t expecting him to tell me about her. He cleared the air about Vanessa, so she was like the least if my worries at the moment.

“Earlier at the office today, her parents were around. They were the visitors that arrived with my mom”

“I didn’t ask about what the meeting was all about because I thought it was business talk as usual ”

“Yeah, it was. It was a contract. A.. marriage.. contract”

“Marriage contract?” I exclaimed. “Is it what I’m thinking?

“Yes but it will never work. I can’t marry Vanessa, I turned down the money they offered and the contract”

I didn’t say anything fo

r a while.
