Her Precious Baby

Chapter 236

Chapter 236

When she heard that, Angeline's expression darkened, and she could not contain her nervousness.

“Sure. Please send me the address. I'll head over right now.”

After all, no matter what Wilfred left behind for her, she considered it precious even if it was insignificant.

After she got the address from the attorney, she turned around and made her way toward the cafe.

As she was in a rush, she did not have the time to send Sebastian home, so she brought him along. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

It was noon, so there were not many tables occupied in the cafe. Melodious music echoed throughout, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

Angeline brought Sebastian to the second floor and ensured it was the right room before she knocked.

“Come in.”

Soon, a man's voice could be heard from the room.

Angeline reached out to push open the door, and a thick scent of coffee wafted through the air and filled her nostrils.

The attorney was sitting in front of the coffee table preparing coffee. Wlien he saw her, he smiled and nodded at her.

“Ms. Sorelle, you're here.”

“Yes. It's been a while.”

Angeline's attitude was also gentle as she brought Sebastian along. The young boy did not fare well with strangers, so he hid behind her.

The attorney got up from liis seat, and his gaze fell on Sebastian as a friendly smile appeared on liis lips.

“I heard from Old Mr. Sorelle that this is the child you've been searching for. He looks so cute.”

“Thank you.”

Angeline gently patted Sebastian's head as she looked at the attorney apologetically and explained, “Sebastian doesn't know how to speak, so he can't greet you. Please excuse him.”

“No worries. I don't mind things like that. Please take a seat.”

The attorney smiled as he ushered her to sit. He then pushed a plate of cookies on the table toward Sebastian.

“Little guy, I don't know what you like, but this store's cookies are famous. Please give it a try.”

Upon seeing that, excitement filled Sebastian's eyes. However, he did not dare to eat them, so he turned to look at Angeline.

“Go ahead.” Angeline smiled as she told him.

After getting her approval, Sebastian mustered up the courage to reach out and grab a cookie and eat it happily.

When Sebastian settled down, the attorney cut to the chase as he took a file from a bag beside him and passed it to Angeline.

“Ms. Sorelle, these are the tilings that Old Mr. Sorelle asked me to give you.”

“What are they?”

Angeline stared at the file and could not snap out of her daze.

“It's something that Old Mr. Sorelle wanted me to give you. Open it and take a look.”

She took a deep breath before taking the file from the attorney. Tears brimmed in her eyes when she opened it and saw what was inside.

“This... This is what Grandpa left me?”

“Yes.”

The attorney nodded. His expression darkened as he replied in a deep voice. “He left you two houses in the suburb of Dellmoor and a mansion in Hawen. There's also a fashion company that you're familiar with. It's Forrester Group, the business that your mother left behind.”

Angeline was rendered speechless.

Tears threatened to fall, and her eyes were filled with surprise.

“Forrester Group? Isn't that Mom and Dad's business? Why does Grandpa have it?”

“You got lucky. When Mr. and Mis. Sorelle registered this company. Old Mr. Sorelle was their guarantor.”

The attorney let out a long sigh and stared at her helplessly.

“Ms. Sorelle, Old Mr. Sorelle actually knew about everything.”

Angeline was speechless.

Her grip tightened as she held back the sadness in her heart while she listened to the attorney speak.

“Ever since Mr. and Mi s. Sorelle passed away, Sorelle Group was short of authoritative figures and started to lose power as debts accumulated. Old Mr. Sorelle had previously suppressed everything and hid it from everyone.

“At first, Old Mr. Sorelle had planned to make Joseline the heir to the company. However, when he saw how ambitious she was to take over the business, he was disappointed with her. As Old Mr. Sorelle's health slowly declined, he could not complete many things. The only tiling he could do was plan a final attack!”

Upon hearing that, Angeline lowered her head as the tears fell and dripped onto the back of her hands.

She never thought Wilfred had done so much for her behind her back.

He had gathered all his strength and bet everything on Sorelle Group, not caring whether it was a success or a failure.

She remembered at the start she had mistaken his actions as him being worried about Joseline. which was why he had given the latter the company. Now that she knew the truth, she felt guilty.

“Ms. Sorelle, these properties that Old Mr. Sorelle left for you are blue chips that he had accumulated over the years. I guarantee you that they're all legal properties.” The attorney could not help but sigh as he said that.

“Although Old Mi; Sorelle did not contact you often, he always paid attention to you. Wlien he found out that you were investing in Forrester Group, he wanted to give it to you as a present.”

Angeline pursed her lips as she stared at the documents for transferring property rights on the table. Her nails dug into her palms because of how tight her grip was. She tried to suppress her feelings, but

the tears kept falling onto the documents.

Even Sebastian was shocked. He quickly tugged on the hem of Angeline's shirt and stared at her in panic.

Angeline cried until she was satisfied and slowly calmed down. She placed the documents back into the file one by one.

“Please help me look after them. Since these are the last tilings Grandpa left for me, I hope they'll become of greater value in the future.”

Now that Joseline was about to go bankrupt, she would naturally be suspicious of Wilfred's will. And with that suspicion, her first suspect would definitely be Angeline.

Keeping these documents by her side was not safe, so leaving them with the attorney would be the best option.

“Okay. I'll help you take good care of them.”

The attorney did not reject her request. He took the file and got up. respectfully saying. “Since I've already done what I was supposed to, I have other matters that I need to settle. Please excuse me.”

“Okay,” Angeline replied before sending off the attorney.

On the other hand, a different situation was happening at Sorelle Group. Things had taken a turn for the worst.

Angeline left the cafe with Sebastian and made their way toward Sorelle Group.

She was greeted by countless workers that came to collect their debts and reporters surrounding the building.

“Give me back my husband, Sorelle Group! What a sh*tty company you are! I hope you go bankrupt soon!”

A rural woman holding a big banner stood on top of the building. She held a megaphone in her other hand. Her voice had gone raspy from all the shouting.

More importantly, her body was swaying back and forth. As she was too emotional, a few times she lost her footing and almost fell off the roof.
