Chapter 2955
"I see!" Relieved, Elliot said, "Our darling Aiden must be starving."
The servant brought a bottle of milk over. Aiden responded by reaching his arms out for it.
Just then, Hayden returned home and scowled when he spotted his son drinking milk as he changed into his slippers.
"Why is he eating whenever I come home?" Hayden recalled seeing the same thing the past two days.
Avery was not sure how to respond to his question and smiled as she tried to change the subject. "Maybe you should come home at a different time, then. Robert and Ivy went out shopping and ran into Shelly. "Mom, I came home at a different time yesterday. Are you overfeeding him? He is getting chubby."
"Babies are like this, and they look really chubby when they're around a year old. Why don't I show you the photos of you, Layla, and Robert when you were one? He will start to slim down once he starts taking solid food."
"Your mom has raised enough children to be qualified for caring for your son," Elliot said. "Just relax. Your son will be fine."
Hayden was at a loss for words, as what Elliot said made sense.
"How's your new branch going?" Elliot asked.
"The office will open after New Year's," Hayden said.
"Not bad. It's a little slow, but you have always been cautious," Elliot commented.
Hayden thought that he was efficient enough and had not been expecting Elliot to say that he was going too slow.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
"I might be coming home, but please stay out of my company's operations," Hayden warned him.
"You are worried over nothing. I would rather spend time playing with my grandson," Elliot said impatiently.
Hayden was instantly rendered speechless.
Time flew, and soon, it was New Year's Eve.
Avery up extra early because it
was a
year that marked
new page in her and Elliot's lives:
grandparenthood.
Everything she had gone through in the past seemed like a lifetime ago.
After waking up, she headed to the nanny's room to check on Aiden.
"He had his milk at six and went back to sleep after that. I think he will be sleeping for a while," the nanny said.
"Here's your bonus. Why don't you
take a few days off to spend time your family? I will get the driver
to drive you home," Avery said with a smile.
She had offered the nanny leave two days ago, but the nanny had wanted to work until New Year's Eve.
The nanny expressed her gratitude before leaving.
Seeing how Aiden was deeply asleep, Avery exited the room and called Shelly.
The call was soon answered.
"Happy New Year's, Shelly."
"Happy New Year's, Aunty Avery."
"Shelly, I had some gifts prepared for
you. They are all just food and
snacks. I will get my driver to deliver
them to you later. Should I have him deliver them to the same address you left with the florist?" Avery Avery
wanted to shower Shelly with gifts to acclimatize her to the idea of accepting a house.
