His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 3155

Seeing how insistent he was, Ivy did not argue and simply said, "I believe in you."

"How so?" he asked.

"I believe that you will be really accomplished in the future, at least more so than what you imagine now," she said. "We don't have to compare ourselves to others. There's no point in that. We are living for ourselves, not to fulfill others' expectations."

"I'm not that ambitious, really," Lucas said.

"You don't have to be! I know what you are thinking; you think you aren't worthy of me, and you are worried that my family will be against us dating, right?"

Lucas fell silent.

"My parents aren't that kind of people. You might not believe me now, but I will bring you to meet them one day. You can still meet my parents even if we are just friends!" "We will see." Lucas sipped on his water.

"Yeah. We are still young, anyway. We don't have to rush."

They ended dinner at half past nine. The streets were noticeably quieter, with fewer cars in sight.

"I'll drive you back to the hotel," Lucas offered.

Ivy shook her head. "I ate too much. I want to take a walk. Will you join me?"

"Sure," Lucas agreed.

"Are you tired? If you're tired, you can go back and rest." Ivy considered the fact that she had taken a nap in the afternoon, while Lucas might not have. "I'm fine," he replied.

Ivy chuckled. "I guess you would say that even if you were tired."

"Why did you ask in the first place, then?"

"I just wanted to ask! You never ask me questions," Ivy said playfully.

Lucas looked at Ivy. "What do you want me to ask? About your life in Aryadelle? I can guess that it's quite exciting without asking."

Ivy laughed. "You're overthinking

things. My parents and siblings are all so accomplished, and returning to such a family actually puts a lot of pressure on me. They chose an excellent school for me, with exceptionally talented students. I can't compare them. To catch up, I had to put in more effort than everyone else. I've been studying hard for the past three years. Graduating was a relief."

"What are your plans now? Do your family members have any expectations?"

Ivy shook her head. "They've never pressured or expected anything from me. They just want me to be safe and healthy. My dedication to studying was completed self-imposed."

Lucas remained silent.

"They didn't stop me from doing anything, including coming here to Taronia, but they did make one firm request: not to marry someone from afar," Ivy confided. "I've been apart from them for eighteen years, and they don't want to be separated from me again. I don't want that either, so I agreed to their request."

"Right. You should go back after a while! In all aspects, this place is secondary to Aryadelle," Lucas said.

"I will go back, but not now. Let's talk about it later Ivy did not want to pressure Lucas. "Lucas, don't overthink things and don't burden yourself too much. If you like me

Lucas stopped in his tracks and swallowed hard. "You could have better options in Aryadelle."

"You are the best option for me," Ivy responded.
