Chapter 0076
Two days of headache, one horrible nightmare and lots of blank spaced memory was all it took to keep Amara away from Alcohol. Permanently.
When Bethany had suggested they go drinking some time within the week, Amara did not hesitate to flat out reject the suggestion. For some ominous reason, she felt like this time around, if she got drunk and had another ridiculous blackout session, she'd end up doing something stupid, and that she wanted to avoid. Walking through the doors of her company, the first thing that caught Amara's attention were brown boxes lined up in the reception.
Was something happening today? She wanted to approach the receptionist or better yet, locate Duncan and question him until answers were provided, but before she could do either, the answer to her question literally walked out. Jasper carried more boxes in his hand, visibly frowning as he did so.
Now Amara was more than curious and she approached the receptionist. "What's going on?"
Lia, the receptionist who until now, had been watching Jasper carry his stuff out, looked up at Amara and gave her a smile.
"Oh, Miss Miller, Good morning. As for the matter concerning Mr. Reynolds, it seems like he's been fired."
"Fired?" Amara's brows noticeably arched. She looked from Lia towards Jasper who had only just now noticed her.
He scowled. "Are you happy? Finally got what you wanted, didn't you?" His voice was filled with so much venom that would have made Amara scared... if she had the heart of someone like sweet ol' Lia behind the counter. But that wasn't the case.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Jasper, and I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with me. Perhaps it has everything to do with that filthy attitude and running mouth of yours."
Her words had the effect she had intended it to, and Jasper fumed.
"If anyone's mouth here should be considered dirty then it should be yours. Don't think we don't all know where that mouth has been, what it has done, all in the bid to secure you this position...all in the bid to get me fired."Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Oh God, Amara thought and rolled her eyes without meaning to. What type of a human being was Jasper, never listening to a word she says and blaming his own incompetence on her.
"Tell me," Jasper suddenly dropped the box he was carrying with so much force that it had poor Lia flinching and the things in there probably breaking. Briskly, he walked up to Amara, getting all in her private space as a means to intimidate her.
But Amara stood her ground, rose her chin and stared him directly in those disgusting eyes of his.
"How does a whore like you
cost? How much does the president pay every night to get a taste of that tight little puckered hole between those thighs of yours?"
If Jasper's words were meant to set off some form of emotion within Amara, it didn't work.
Rather than lashing out like he had expected, Amara simply looked him from head to toe, seemingly gauging him before she spoke.
"I'm a woman far above your caliber, Jasper. No matter how much you put down on the table, I can never settle to suck that limp dick of yours." In a instance, Jasper went beet red and veins popped violently from the side of his next.
"You stupid-" He raised his hand to hit her, but at that moment, Lia, being the sweet soul she is, had called security and they arrived just in time.
"This isn't my fault!" He protested as the security dragged him out. "She's the one in the wrong, can't you see it!"
Soon after he was dragged away and his belongings thrown away, Duncan appeared, looking worried for his boss.
"Madam," He greeted, earning a small wave and a smile from said woman.
"How's thing, Duncan?" She light heartedly asked, showing no after effect to the commotion that had just happened a few minutes ago.
Duncan was unsure how to take this. "Miss, would you...like me to contact the security company and have them assign some people to watch over you?"
