Chapter 177 Why Did She Run Away From You (Part One)

Cherry wiped the tears off of her face with her hand, and then turned to Harrison. She looked at him

with a forced smile on her face, and with bravado in her voice, said, "Dad, you don't need to say those

words to me; I don't hate you anymore. What's more, I live a good life now, and I'm not suffering; I'm

very happy."

Harrison felt very distressed and didn't know what to say when he saw Cherry's forced smile. He

thought for a while, and then said, "It's good for you to be back to the Chu family again. Try to live a

good life, and to enjoy all that you haven't got before. Cherr, I wish you only the best!"

Cherry then looked at her aged father. She nodded firmly, and said, "I'll be happy, Dad."

"By the way, " suddenly said Harrison with his expression slightly changed, "Don't get too close to

Andrew. Visiting him just occasionally is okay."

But Cherry didn't take Harrison's reminder too seriously, and instead was still thinking of Harrison's

wishes.

Cherry then said goodbye to him and left. As Harrison saw Cherry's figure fading away in the distance,

happiness started to sparkle in his eyes. He felt very happy that his daughter had forgiven him and that

she still cared about him.

Cherry was about to drive back to Jackson's apartment, aware that Jackson was waiting for her there.

She had already found Harrison and the next thing that she had to do was to tell him about Joe. When

Jackson accepted the fact that he already had a son, she would go back to the Chu Family together

with their son. She had been away from the Chu Family for such a long time, and she had missed them

very much.

Cherry was still on her way to Jackson's apartment when she suddenly received a call from Wilson.

"Hello, Wilson, " said Cherry.

Wilson hastily said on the phone, "Cherry, I can't find Joe anywhere!"

"What?" Cherry was totally stunned when she heard her brother. She quickly pulled the car over to the

side of the road, and anxiously asked, "Wilson, what did you say?"

"I went to school to pick up Joe, but he wasn't there anymore. The school's janitor told me that he last

saw Joe getting inside a taxi, " quickly said Wilson.

Cherry's mind immediately went blank, and didn't know what she should do next. She had never

imagined such a terrible scene, and she couldn't live if something were to happen to her son.

Wilson continued to ask her, "Cherry, do you think that Joe went to look for you? The janitor also said

that Joe had told him that he was going to see his Mommy."

"That's impossible, " said Cherry. "I'm not in the company, how is Joe supposed to find me?"

After she said this, Cherry suddenly thought that Joe must have gone to the JS Group.

Wilson seemed to have realized something too. He held his cell phone pressed against his ear and

kept silent for a moment.

"Wilson, this is terrible!" suddenly whispered Cherry.

"You mean...Has Joe gone to the JS Group to find you?" asked Wilson, very worried about what was

happening. He realized the predicament they were in, because once Joe went to the JS Group, even if

Jackson wasn't there, it was easy for anyone to recognize him. Joe closely resembled Jackson, more

than that, they almost looked the same. It seemed that they couldn't hide Joe any longer.

All of a sudden, Cherry became very nervous, and she quickly said to Wilson, "Wilson, I'm going back

to the company!"

After this, Cherry hung up the phone, started the car and drove straight to the JS Group.

On her way there, Cherry was still very worried, and after she thought for a while, she called Selina.

The call was soon connected, and Cherry immediately said, "Selina, Selina, are you in the company?"

However, Jackson answered instead of Selina. In a gloomy voice, he said, "You tell me."

Cherry immediately became frightened. She didn't know what to say and kept silent for a long time.

Eventually, she said, "What are you doing in the JS Group?"

"Do you know that your son is here?" asked Jackson furiously.

Cherry almost yelled at him, "Jackson, leave him alone! Leave him alone!" but Jackson had already

hung up without saying another single word to her.

In Selina's office, Jackson gloomily sat on the sofa opposite to Joe, while Selina stood aside watching

them stare at each other.

"Did you just talk with my Mommy? When will she be back?" asked Joe in a natural and unconcerned

way. He had already guessed that the man in front of him was his father, who was one of the most

powerful and influential men in the city.

"Do you want her to come back?" asked Jackson coldly. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

"Of course I do, I came here to see my Mommy, " replied Joe. Joe didn't hate his father, but didn't love

him either. He was very dissatisfied with Jackson when he saw his angry face, and it seemed that

everyone in the world owed him money. He wondered what the hell was wrong with him and why he

was so angry all the time.

"Do you know who I am?" suddenly asked Jackson.

"I'm not interested in knowing who you are, " said Joe in an imposing manner. He thought to himself,

'Daddy, are you flying your kite now? Don't worry, I'll keep you company to the end.'

When Selina heard Joe's words, she became very anxious. She quickly said, "Joe, you can't speak to

him like that. You have to respect him."

"Why should I respect him? I only respect my own family, " said Joe as he glared at Selina.

Selina didn't know what to say at that moment, and after she thought for a while, she replied to him,

"But he is…"

But before Selina could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by Jackson.

"Your family?" asked Jackson.

"Yes, " said Joe as he looked at Jackson with innocent eyes. "I have a happy and warm home. I have

around me a Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle and my Mommy who loves me the most!"

Jackson looked at the little man who was answering him back, and found that he was not even angry

with him a bit. He wondered whether it was because he was his own son or because he was just a

child.

Selina couldn't help herself to correct his words, "Joe, that's your grandparents' home, not your own

home."

"That's my home too, " firmly said Joe. However he didn't look at Selina at all, instead he kept on

staring at Jackson. He then continued, "I only know that I was born there, and everyone in the family

takes good care of me. They all love me very much."
