Chapter 824 The Start Of The Party (Part Two)

"Okay. Thank you so much, Rebecca," replied Ivy hurriedly.

After hanging up the phone, Ivy happily held it in her hand while murmuring to herself, "Those evening All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

dresses were all designer labels. Even though Rebecca had worn them a few years ago, they couldn't

be that outdated." Since she was not willing to spend thousands of dollars for an evening dress that

she could only wear once, she was glad to be able to choose one from Rebecca's wardrobe.

At the venue of the party, the colorful lights of the five-star luxury theme park hotel flashed on every trail

around its building. There were a lot of people coming and going. All men were in suits while women

were in different kinds of evening dresses.

Derek and Amy arrived at the hotel quite a while ago. They were both smiling to every visitor they could

see while holding goblets in their hands.

When Mond got into the hotel and reached the room where the party was to be held, he took a glass of

wine from the waiter who passed by him and walked towards Derek and Amy.

"Hello, Mond. You are here," greeted Amy with a smile on her lips.

When he heard Amy's voice, Derek also turned his eyes to Mond and joked, "Hey, buddy. You are late."

"Well, it seems that Wilson and Selina have not arrived yet. I'm not the last one, am I?" Mond

answered. He then raised his hand up and gently shook the glass motioning Derek to have a sip of

wine with him.

After they took a sip of wine, Derek smiled and said, "It seems that you are right. You are not the last

one. So, where is Selina?"

"Yeah. I'm actually wondering why she is still not here. There's no traffic jam on the way here and

Selina is always punctual. So why she hasn't arrived yet?" Amy asked. She looked around as if hoping

to find Selina in the crowd.

"Let's wait for a moment. Maybe something urgent came up which causes the delay of her arrival," said

Derek.

"Oh, where is Lawrence?" Mond suddenly asked. "This party is hosted by the JC Group so he should

have been here already, right?" Mond looked around, scanning the crowd hoping that he could also see

Lawrence.

"I know he has come early but I haven't seen him yet as well. Maybe he is entertaining other guests

somewhere else," replied Derek. He had been here for quite a while but he hadn't seen Lawrence.

"It seems that this kid is so busy that he has no time to talk to us anymore," joked Mond.

"Actually, he doesn't have anything to talk to us. We always talk about everything with Jackson, but

Lawrence is different. He is like our kid and can only obey our orders when he stays with us. He doesn't

even get a chance to participate in our discussions," said Derek.

Mond nodded in agreement with Derek. "Yeah, you're right. But to be honest, Lawrence is quite a good

boy. Well, maybe because he has a good mother who always teaches him to be polite. We can't even

find any fault on him."

"Yeah, Cherry is a great mother," replied Amy. "You know, Lawrence and Violet are both sensible kids.

Cherry brought them up to be polite. Furthermore, Cherry and Jackson are still very close like they are

just a new couple. Jackson always treats Cherry so good like his baby. They really have a happy

family," she added. She actually didn't expect that they would talk about Cherry behind her back.

"Amy, you can't tell Cherry what I've just said, okay? I don't want her to blame me for talking behind her

back," pleaded Mond who was somewhat afraid of Cherry.

"Don't worry. I know you're afraid of her," replied Amy with a smile. She knew they always joked with

each other so she wouldn't take those words seriously.

At that moment, the three of them saw Fred walking towards them. Beside him was his new wife one

couldn't be more familiar with, Sharon.

"Fred, you are here," greeted Derek happily. He reached out his hand to Fred for a handshake.

"Yeah, we finally arrived. We were actually quite in a hurry to get here but we still came later than you,"

said Fred in an apologetic tone. He also shook hands with Mond after Derek.

"Oh, I've also just arrived," Mond replied with a smile on his face. He needed to be polite to Fred. After

all, the Chu Family and the Xiao Family were now relatives because of marriage. And since he was

Jackson's brother, he could also be considered as a relative of the Xiao Family.

Fred looked around and asked in confusion, "Where is Wilson?"

"Maybe he also hasn't arrived yet," answered Derek.

After Derek finished speaking, Fred turned to Amy. He then said with a praise, "Derek, your wife is still

as beautiful as ever. She hasn't changed at all after so many years. She still has a great temperament."

When she heard Fred's praises, Amy smiled and said, "Thank you, Mr. Fred. Actually, Mrs. Sharon is

much more beautiful than me."

Actually, Amy didn't really mean any word she said to Fred. After all, she didn't like Sharon even a bit.

All ladies in the aristocratic circle knew about Sharon's personality as well. Furthermore, she heard

from Alice that Sharon didn't treat Violet well when she lived with the Xiao Family. So how could she

like a woman who once bullied her lovely Violet?

As she heard Amy's compliment, Sharon smiled and pretended to be shy. She said, "Mrs. Amy, you

flattered me. Women like us need to spend a lot of time and energy on keeping our youthfulness well.

As you know, a well-preserved woman always looks young and beautiful. I can share my skin care

products to you if you like."

"Thank you so much for the kind offer but I really don't want to bother you with that," replied Amy. "My

daughter brought back some skin care products from abroad. I think they are quite good for me and I'd

like to continue using them."

Derek and Mond both noticed the change in Amy's tone of voice when she said her last words.

Afterwards, Amy looked at Derek and said, "You can stay here with Mond and Fred. I'll just go around

to look for Selina."

"Alright," Derek replied with a nod.

Sharon cursed Amy in her mind as she watched her walked away. How could Amy talk to her like that?

She was just Derek's wife and she just went to the famous ladies' clubs for several times. How could

she be that arrogant?

Meanwhile, Selina walked into the party while holding Wilson's arm. She was wearing a black evening

dress.

"How many people did Lawrence invite this evening?" she wondered. "There are so many people

here." She looked around as if trying to recognize the faces of people present that evening.

"Young people nowadays always like to have fun. Let's just leave them alone," Wilson replied. He then

looked at a group of young people not far away and asked, "Look at those young people, are they

Lawrence's friends?"

"Yeah, I think so. It seems that Lawrence and Mike invited the rich second generations of the whole city

here and we don't even have a common topic with these boys and girls," complained Selina.

"Alright, alright. I'm going to look for Derek and Mond. I know they came here early," Wilson said. He

also couldn't get involved in the young people's group but he wouldn't be lonely with Derek and Mond.

"Alright, let's go. I also have something to say to Amy," said Selina.
