It Comes In Three's

Chapter 51

Chapter 51

Lottie’s POV

I was glad to be back at Dels where I felt secure and protected…

I didn’t realise how nervous I actually was until we had to leave to go back to Anna’s for more stuff! I was terrified to even exit the car on the off chance that they would so happen to drive by and see me somewhere!

Alex had me covered though, he made sure I was in and out as quickly as possible and continuously comforted me so that I didn’t freak out every five seconds!

The thought of seeing those three again was eating away at me, I felt completely scared and vulnerable.

“Their damn backup should be here in ten! Now that, is something I do want to see! Who do they think they are? Calling in the backup?” Anna giggles, as I laugh slightly with her.

“Yeah I wonder who it is? I chuckle next, as Anna and 1 both plop down onto the sofa turning on the TV to watch something in the meantime.

“How are you feeling? Anna ponders, turning to me next as I shrug meekly.

“I don’t quite know if I’m honest… I feel untouchable when I’m here… but I know deep down that I can’t just hide out in here forever so that scares I admit, as Anna snuggles closer to me and sighs.

“We won’t let anything happen to you, you know?” She tells me sincerely, as I nod, Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

I believe her, but I was still fearful about the what if’s

me

With that, the doorbell rings throughout the house, before footsteps are heard coming from the kitchen, Moments after, we hear the front door opening – as Anna instinctively lovers the TV volume.

“Just through here lads…we can’t thank you all enough for coming! I hear Alex voice speak out, before he enters the living room ahead of the others… Thankfully this was a large room with many sofas and places to sit because following Alex was lace and Del- followed by five incredibly large men

A couple of them were older, probably in their later forties if I had to guess, whilst the other three looked to be mid/late twenties

Hello beautiful ladies! One of the younger guys winks in our direction to acknowledge us, caming the others to laugh loudly,

“Watch it Colt!” Alex warns, as he holds his hands up in innocence followed by another laugh.

Anna and I exchange amused glances as the group settles down on the available sofas. Their presence brings a certain energy to the room, a sense of reassurance mixed with anticipation. I can’t help but feel a surge of gratitude for their willingness to help us.

Alex introduces each of them to Anna and me, starting with the older men, Peter and Mike. They both have a calm yet commanding presence, and their experience is evident in their weathered expressions. Then there’s Jake, Colt, and Mart, the younger tria who exude a vibrant energy that contrasts with the seriousness of the situation

“We’re glad to have you all here,” Anna says with a warm smile, breaking the initial silence. “It means a lot to us.”

The men exchange glances, conveying their shared commitment to our cause although I don’t actually know how much of the situation they are already aware of

Jake, the most talkative among them, leans forward and replies, “We’ve got your backs. No one messes with our people.”

A sense of camaraderie fills the room, and I find myself relaxing slightly in their presence. They seem like a tight–knit group, one that has weathered storms together.

It’s reassuring to know that I’m not alone in this fight if anything I have more than enough backup now.

The doorbell rings again, as lace goes off to answer it before again, more large terrifying men enter the space. They shake hands and greet one

another excitedly, as I feel myself grow slightly overwhelmed.

They pile in, take their seats,

s, offer us a hello, before I quickly head count them all mentally–fifteen total including our boys.

Well damn…

we can call on you all in times of need.” Alex begins, seeming to step up to

“Thanks everyone for turning up it is, as always, greatly appreciated to know we can call on lead the meeting–his confidence shining through.

“This here is Lottie, my girl, and this is Anna, Jace’s cousin.” Alex introduces us to them all collectively, as they nod in what seems like approval of our presence.

“Three little idiots are currently on their way here to harm Lottie… I don’t take the threat lightly as they have already seriously assaulted her on numerous occasions in the past… I have called you all here, because I need eyes around town.” Alex speaks into the silent room, as everyone gives him the floor and listens carefully

I grow slightly embarrassed that the meeting was centred around me, as I lower my head and attempt to blend in to the sofa…

As the conversation starts up, pl

plans are discussed, strategies shared, and details sorted out. It’s evident that Alex, Jace, and Del have already filled them In on the situation briefly too.

The men contribute their insights and expertise, refining our approach, which again only confirms that they have all somewhat done this before…

I wonder what they are, or how they came about knowing one another and working together?

Eventually, the conversation transitions into lighter topics, and laughter fills the room once everyone is on the same page. It’s a welcomed respite from the tension that has lingered from before–as the men catch up with one another.

I watch the interactions between the men, observing their shared experiences. It’s clear they have a history together, and I can’t help but wonder how they came to know each other and form this close–knit group.

As they catch up and laugh, I feel a sense of relief knowing that I have such a strong support system around me. Although all of the men were intimidating in their own right, seeing them together like this, put me at ease instantly. They all seemed so… genuine.

Amidst the laughter, I catch Alex’s eye, and he gives me a reassuring smile. It’s a small gesture, but it instantly eases the remains of my anxiety. I’m grateful to have him by my side, guiding me through this challenging time.

Anna leans over and whispers, They seem like a family, don’t they?” Anna’s voice breaks through my thoughts, and I nod in agreement. Despite the seriousness of the situation, there’s a warmth and familiarity among them that creates a sense of unity.

They must have been through a lot together,” I reply softly, my eyes scanning the room. Each man carries a certain air of resilience, as if they’ve faced their fair share of challenges and emerged stronger.

Anna rests her head on my shoulder, and we both watch as the conversation shifts from strategizing to personal anecdotes.

As the evening wears on, the room gradually begins to empty as some of the men depart. They’ve set up a rotating watch system to ensure our safety, and it’s clear that no detail has been overlooked at this point.

With a yawn, I stretch my arms and glance at Anna. She smiles sleepily and suggests we head upstairs. We bid everyone goodnight, expressing our gratitude once again before we leave.

Alex watches me carefully, as I give him a nod and follow Anna. I give her a quick hug as we reach the room she was staying in, before I head back towards Alex room where all of my bags had been placed.

The events of the day replay in my mind as I change into my pyjamas. I’m overwhelmed by a mix of emotions–fear, gratitude, uncertainty, and determination. But there’s also a glimmer of hope.

Surrounded by people who genuinely care and are willing to risk their own safety for ours, I feel a renewed strength within me

Well have the support of not only Alex, face, and Del but also these brave men who have stepped up to help. Those three bullies won’t know what’s hit

them!

With that thought in mind. I climb under the sheets, close my eyes, and allow myself to finally drift into a peaceful sleep, knowing that I am safe protected, and not alone in this battle.

Not anymore..
