Noah’s POV

I had always known what girls liked and I knew that even though I was doing a sort of arranged marriage with Rachel I still needed to do the needful.

I thought about it long and hard and I decided to give Rachel a proposal. It might not be the proposal of her dreams but at least it would be something she would remember.

I thought of the concept I should go with because she was a one of a kind kind of girl. I wanted to do something that would be extravagant, that way my mom would not be able to go against it but I thought against it because I did not know how she would react to such.

I browse online and decide to do something quiet and nice for her. The first step is to pick up a ring. I don’t know what kind of ring she preferred but judging from the little to no jewelry she wore from all the times they had met up he concluded that she was not a jewelry kind of person so he chose one that was not all that extravagant. But of course, it was a diamond.

I had the house staff do the needful and contacted a small agency that did events. The owners were able to get my garden set up on time for the proposal. I just wanted everything to be perfect for her.

Unlike most girls, she had taken the issue quite maturely and even better than I had expected. Even when I freaked out she remained calm but not without crying. She was a definite crybaby.

I sent her a text to call me after work because all my efforts would go to waste if she did not come to my house that night. I sent the message so close to working hours that I expected a call in less than thirty minutes but she did not call in over an hour.

I was tempted to send a follow up message in case she did not see the first one but I did not want to be seen as pushy for her. When two hours had passed and I did not receive a call from her office I knew I had to do something.

What could I do? Show up at her workplace without a prior notice? Call her office and request to speak with her. To be honest I had never dealt with a workaholic before. I would consider myself one but she tops the bat for me.

I waited a little more hoping at this time that she was still at work and that I did not just blow off some money and she was not ignoring me. By the time three hours passed, I called her office and the receptionist told me she was nose deep in work.

She asked if she should put the call through but I told her not to bother. I will wait I have to. How could I be seen as the pushy one when we were yet to start living together?

I sigh as I open the box in my hand as I wait in my car. These days my driver and security detail must be blessing me in their hearts since I let them go home earlier these days.

Suddenly my phone rings in my hands and I sigh of relief when I see the caller. Took her long enough.

“Hello” her smooth voice rings through the air.

“Finally” I mutter but not only because she called but because I get to hear her voice
