Chapter 272 Jessica's Confrontation (Part One)

On the H City military field base, Daisy took her phone back excitedly. All she wanted to do was to call

Edward. She looked forward to hearing his deep voice and telling him how much she missed him.

uncontrollably as she thought about seeing the man she loved so much tonight.

But not everything in life goes along well. A call came even before she could dial Edward's number.

Daisy looked at the familiar number. She remembered it was Jessica's number. Why was Jessica

calling her?

"Hello, This is Daisy speaking. Who's that?" Even though she'd already known who the caller was,

Daisy offered her name due to force of habit.

"It seems that you've already forgotten who I am. Come on, Daisy Ouyang. You've been avoiding me

these past few days. Why do you pick my call up this time?" Jessica said sharply. She had been trying

to reach Daisy for a few days but never succeeded. She didn't expect things to be different today.

"Sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about. Tell me who you are or I'm disconnecting this call."

Daisy hated rude people the most. She thought that everyone should have the courtesy to introduce

themselves during a call. But Jessica didn't do what's expected of her and instead accused Daisy of

something she didn't do. No one could remain calm with this treatment.

"Stop playing the fool. You know who I am. Or are you afraid of me?" Jessica talked down to Daisy.

She felt superior when it came to Daisy. She was from the well-known Lin clan and Daisy was poor and

pedantic. Jessica thought Daisy kept avoiding her because Daisy herself knew that she couldn't take

her on.

"Okay, let me get this straight. Miss, you call me first without introducing yourself. Then you accuse me

of something I didn't do. Don't you think you're pushing it?" Daisy's forehead knotted in a frown.

'Edward should've been picky about choosing his girlfriend.' Daisy thought to herself. She couldn't

believe that he'd been with such an ill-bred woman for so many years.

"I'm pushing it? Then what about you? Do you have any idea how much in love Edward and I were with

each other before you came into the picture? Why do you have to ruin everything? You still think you're

innocent?" Jessica said through gritted teeth. How could this woman come out of nowhere and take her

beloved Edward away from her? On top of that, she almost lost the entire Lin Company. She needed to

pay for everything.

"If this is all you're calling about, then I have to go. I'm busy and have no time to talk about these things

with you. Please call Edward. He's the one who dumped you." Daisy glanced at Mark, who was

gesticulating at her and the rest of the army officers who were already ready to leave. Edward kept

causing her so much trouble. She would teach him a lesson when they met again.

"Daisy Ouyang, I think we should meet. I dare you to go." Jessica smirked. She wouldn't tell Daisy the

news over the phone. If she did, she wouldn't be able to enjoy the pained look of her opponent. She

was determined to humiliate Daisy to her face.

"That's interesting. I'll certainly come if you want to meet. How about tonight? I'm currently not in S city."

Daisy wasn't a coward. Besides, Jessica was the one who started the whole thing. Now Daisy was

determined to see what Jessica had up in her sleeve.

"Okay, I hope you don't get cold feet." Jessica said with a smirk. She had been working hard to save

the Lin Company. Even though it was still teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, she was able to bring

the situation under control because the FX International Group stopped going against them. Jessica

was also able to calm the shareholders down.

"See you at the Jueshi Cafe at 6 p.m." Daisy didn't respond and hung up. Then she strode to her

Humvee. Actually, Daisy didn't want to bother herself with Jessica. But since Jessica kept pestering

her, she wanted to settle things with her once and for all. Since Jessica had been with Edward for so

many years, Daisy was looking forward to seeing what she was like. She wouldn't let Jessica think

she's a coward.

The first thing Kevin did after getting his phone back was to call Leena. But he couldn't get through to

her. No one answered and after a while, her phone was turned off. Kevin began to worry. What was

she doing now? Was she too busy to pick up the phone?

Leena didn't answer his call because she forgot to bring her phone along. It was probably switched off

because it ran out of battery. Kevin shook his head. There was no way he could know what she was

doing since she didn't answer his call. 'Maybe she's still sleeping. She's such a night owl.' Kevin

thought to himself. Thinking his guess made sense, Kevin felt relieved and started to handle other

matters.

As the Humvee whizzed along the motorway, Daisy focused on sorting out the military exercise

documents. She didn't let herself get distracted by Jessica's call. Daisy was sure that Edward didn't

have anything to do with Jessica. Otherwise, Jessica wouldn't come to her. A Brilliant woman would

confront her man instead of her rival in love competitions. Only a silly woman would talk with her rival

and let her rival know how miserable she was. Obviously, Jessica was the latter and not brilliant

enough to take Daisy on.
