Journey to Happy Ending

Chapter 277 Why Did You Do That

Chapter 277 Why Did You Do That

"Okay! Good, now tell me about her unborn child," asked Daisy seriously. She was amused by the sad

look on Edward's face. He looked charming when he lowered his head as if he was a student who had

made a mistake.

"It has nothing to do with me. I had a contraceptive surgery soon after marriage. Therefore, I can't be

the father," explained Edward. He raised his head and firmly assured Daisy. He didn't plan to tell Daisy

about the contraceptive surgery. But Jessica told Daisy that she was pregnant. He had to share it to

prove that he wasn't the father.

"Why? Why did you do that?" asked Daisy. She frowned and pondered, 'Why did he have a

contraceptive surgery? To have sex with other women without worrying about getting them pregnant?

Or did he have some other reason? His lewd past tells me that he underwent the surgery for the former

reason.'

"Honey, I don't want to talk about it. I'm starved. Let's have dinner," said Edward. There was a corner

deep in his heart, which couldn't be touched by anyone, including Daisy. He didn't want to reveal all his

unbearable memories to Daisy.

"You didn't have dinner before coming?" asked Daisy. She looked at him and stopped inquiring about

that operation. She didn't know why he had changed the subject, but she wouldn't force him to share.

Deep-down everyone had secrets which weren't supposed to be disclosed to anyone, including his/her

partner. So did Daisy.

"I was working overtime and then I saw your car. So I came over to see if everything was all right. How

was the military exercise?" asked Edward. He caressed her cheek and smiled sincerely. Having Daisy

around was a great blessing for him. His heart was beating only for her since he fell in love with her.

Without her company, he felt one day was like one year.

"Well. I didn't perform as well as I usually do. It ended in a draw," replied Daisy. She was still upset for

the stupid mistake she had made in the military exercise. Following the prescribed routine was

inadvisable and fatal in battles. Kevin's unconventional action had distracted her, thus making the red

army suffer a great loss. How to write the summary on the military exercise still remained a problem for

her.

"Was that my fault?" asked Edward. They sat in the car and Edward was staring at Daisy affectionately.

He had wanted to help her but instead, he became a hindrance for her.

"No, I made some mistakes. Aren't you hungry? Let's go home and have dinner! I miss Justin," said

Daisy. She looked tender every time she thought of Justin. Edward was slightly jealous because of that.

"What about me? Don't you miss me?" muttered Edward. He had missed her so much that he couldn't

fall asleep in the night. And Daisy got angry with him as soon as she came back.

"You're sitting next to me! Why would I miss you," teased Daisy. Daisy didn't give the reply he was

expecting. Daisy would be happy if Jessica no longer came between them. She loved Edward, and

would always do.

"Not now, I mean the time when we were apart," asked Edward. With expectation and excitement

written all over his face, Edward waited for her answer.

"I didn't get any time to miss you," replied Daisy seriously. She had been combating with Kevin on the

battlefield all the time. There had been no spare time for her to miss him!

"Daisy, no matter what you say, I still miss you, "said Edward. He then held her closer and kissed her

rep lips. He pondered, 'You had no time to miss me, huh. Wait and watch how I'll punish you.'

At first, Daisy was shocked but then she started to kiss him back. It seemed that his little trick worked.

Daisy really enjoyed his persuasive style which made her feel both loved and valued.

Edward wanted to express his love and longing through a wild kiss. But when Daisy kissed him back,

the wild kiss became gentle and warm. However, soon, kissing wasn't enough for him. He wanted

more. As he was about to put his hands under her clothes, Daisy stopped him and pushed him away

breathlessly. Her face was totally flushed.

"Woman, if we weren't here right now, I would have made passionate love to you," said Edward

breathlessly. He threw a sensual stare at her red lips.

"Go! Let's go home, now!" said Daisy. She tried to avoid his sensual eyes. Luckily she wasn't wearing

her military uniform. Or else, the pedestrians would have started judging her.

He touched her nose gently. And as he was about to start the car, he heard her phone ringing. Daisy

answered the phone instantly. He wondered if there was an emergency. She had just returned from the

military exercise.

"Hello! This is Daisy. Kevin, what's up?" asked Daisy. She assumed Kevin would be at his home

already. What happened?

"Well! Daisy, has Leena contacted you? She is not at home. I tried to call her but I couldn't get

through," replied Kevin. He stroked his hair, feeling remorseful and angry. He thought, 'I can't get

through to her. I was hoping to see her at home. But there is no sign of Leena or her laptop in the

apartment. She must have left. Where has she gone? Before I figure out what has happened, I will feel

embarrassed to call the Leng's for her whereabouts.' That was why he called Daisy first. Perhaps she

knew something through Edward. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

"Leena? No, I haven't seen her! Perhaps she went to the Leng's?" replied Daisy. Daisy realized Kevin's

anxiousness because generally, he didn't call her.

"I don't know. Well! I'm going to the Leng's," replied Kevin. He grabbed the car keys and walked

towards outside. He pondered, ' My wife is gone. In any case, I have to go and see if she is at the

Leng's. I hope she is there, or else how will I tell her family that she is missing. After all, Duke always

has a problem with me.'

"Okay! Don't worry. She is an adult and I think she can take care of herself!" replied Daisy. But, she

also got worried about Leena. And she wondered, 'Leena must be having her phone with her when she

left! Why can't Kevin get through to her?'

"Alright, thank you! Call me if you know something. Bye!'' Kevin strode to his Humvee as he hung up

the phone. He was worried about Leena. What if Leena wasn't at the Leng's, where could she be? And

where to find her? Speaking of this, Kevin suddenly realized he knew nothing about her, except her

name and family. He never bothered to ask what she majored in. He was a bad husband.

"Has Leena contacted you?" Daisy asked Edward as she hung up the phone. For past couple of days

she had been involved with the military exercise, so she wasn't sure if Leena had come to the Mu's.

"No! What happened?" asked Edward. He thought that Daisy was asking if he had seen Leena today. It

didn't occur to him that Kevin didn't know about Leena being in France.

"Well! Nothing. Kevin didn't find her at home. Did I tell you that Leena and Kevin are married?" asked

Daisy. She had been really occupied with the military exercise and thinking about the photo sent from

Jessica. She didn't get the chance to tell Edward about Leena's marriage.

"You know that? Alright. Apparently, Rain and I are the last ones to know it," complained Edward.

'Humph! Kevin had been busy with the military exercise, so he doesn't know that Leena has gone to

France. I won't tell him about it! I need to teach him a lesson. How dare he marry Leena secretly. I

know what Duke will be thinking. He won't tell him her whereabouts either. Let's thank Leena for giving

us the opportunity to play tricks on Kevin, ' thought Edward.

"I'm sorry! I was too busy to tell you and I assumed that Duke might have told you already. Let's go!

Perhaps she is at the Leng's now," replied Daisy. Daisy was quite sure that Leena was smart enough to

protect herself. Therefore, she wasn't too worried about Leena.

Then Edward started the car and revealed a meaningful smile. He thought, 'Kevin, this little trick is a

wedding gift for you. We hope you'll like it. This isn't over yet. Just wait and watch our next move,

humph! This is the price you pay for your secret marriage with Leena.'

The poor Kevin knew nothing about their tricks. He was rushing to the Leng's now. It turned out Edward

was right about Duke. Without a second thought, Duke said he didn't know where Leena was. His

father wasn't at home and therefore nobody caught him telling a lie. God knows how mad he was at

Kevin. Now he would use this opportunity to get back at Kevin.
