Chapter 184 Always Her Safe Harbor

Upon hearing this, Maggie froze for a moment, her eyes fixed on Nathael in amazement. “You have the original manuscript Torvalan’s Moonlit Citadel?”

“Yes, it’s at my place Nathael’s intense gaze met hers as he reiterated his statement,

Mia let out a light chuckle, trying to suppress a few coughs while she teasingly suggested, “Looks like this party will go on for a while. Maggie, why don’t you just spend the night here?”

Maggie snapped back to reality and shot Mia a confused look.

Listening to the conversation among the group, Beth felt a strong mix of anger and frustration.

So, Nathael has the original music score?

And he’s just going to give it to Maggie…..

Then what was the point of all my efforts tonight?

Maggie’s eyes landed on Beth’s almost contorted face, feeling a twinge of regret as she glanced at the manuscript now soaked in red wine as she sighed. “What a shame, but I guess you won’t mind. Ms. Bray.”

“Maggie, don’t get ahead of yourself! Beth snapped, then turned to Nathael with red eyes. “Nathael, this woman isn’t genuine with you. She’s just using you! You’ll regret being with her sooner or later!”

Nathael’s eyes betrayed a hint of impatience as he tightly gripped Maggie’s wrist, stating firmly, “If I can’t make her fall in love with me, that would be because I’m not good enough.”

Maggie was momentarily stunned, gazing at him in a daze.

The dazzling lights in the hall reflected off his handsome and stern face, making his already handsome face appear more radiant.

Before she could fully comprehend, Nathael took hold of her wrist and led her towards the corridor at the side of the hall.

Maggie stumbled a few steps before hurriedly catching up.

“When did you come back? Were you already here when you called me earlier?” Maggie couldn’t help but ask as they walked.

“Yeah, I just landed, Nathael spoke gently, showing more patience with her.

They paused in the corridor, where Maggie giving him a disapproving look. “You liar! Why didn’t you inform me? Didn’t I ask you not to rush….

Though Maggie was pleased, she couldn’t help but feel a tad annoyed, especially considering his injury.

She wasn’t sure if he had healed so quickly, yet here he was.

“Nana, I missed you.” Nathac pulled her into his embrace, speaking softly.

Maggie was momentarily lost in thought, enjoying him calling her by that name.

Having used the name Maggie for so many years, she found it hard to adapt to a change. Nevertheless, this name was given to her by the Camerons, and it bore the mark of all the deception and pain she had

endured.

But the name Nana was different. Even though she had it for only a few short years, the memories associated with it were all beautiful. Only those closest to her would address her by that name.

So Maggie liked him calling her by that name.

Maggie remained silent for a while, wrapping her arms around his waist and murmuring softly, “I missed

You too.

The dim light in the corridor illuminated her bright and charming face as her twinkling eyes reflected his

shadow

Unable to resist his emotions, Nathael lifted her delicate waist with one hand and leaned down to kiss her rosy lips.

Maggie closed her eyes without hesitation. Just the thought of the photos Lucas sent her brought back memories of her past, prompting her to hug him tighter.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the party, Beth and Emma left with dejected expressions after Maggie had been whisked away by Nathael.

Leo stood still, his gaze following Maggie’s departure, his expression calm and inscrutable.

Mia nudged him with her elbow. “Want a smoke?”

Leo turned away. “Let’s go.”

The two of them silently headed towards the terrace on the side of the party. Mia took out a cigarette from. her purse, her well–manicured fingers pulling one out for Leo before taking one for

herself.

“I made an extra 30 million today. I’ll invest it directly into the company you and Maggie own. Same rules -I’ll split it into thirds, with each of us having one portion.”

Mia leaned against the terrace railing, admiring the beauty of the night. The cool autumn breeze was refreshing, making people feel inexplicably relaxed.

Leo stood slightly behind her, his usual grace somewhat diminished while he held the cigarette. The smoke dispersed, lending an even colder edge to his already indifferent and distant eyes.

“What’s wrong? Bad mood?” Mia didn’t turn around, but she seemed to understand his thoughts. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

“It’s nothing.” Leo responded calmly.

Mia let out a laugh. “I really don’t get you. You’ve been waiting on Maggie for so long. Why haven’t you told her how you feel?”

Leo’s eyes were chilly and transparent; the color of his pupils was faint, akin to delicate glass.

“In this world, not everyone gets their wish.”

Chapter 184 Always Her Safe Harbor

All he wanted was to stand by her side. She could pursue her desires and love whoever she wished, while he’d always be her safe harbor.

He wouldn’t allow her to be alone, unless he passed on.

Mia’s gaze wandered elsewhere, silent.

Leo has always pampered Maggie. Maybe even if she wished for death, he’d hand her the knife without a change in his expression.

I just don’t understand..

If I want something, I’ll seize it no matter what.

After finishing her cigarette, Mia put it out and turned to head back to the banquet hall. “I’m off. Got something to attend to.”

If problems didn’t come to her, she’d seek them out herself.

Life is fleeting. She couldn’t bear to spend every day idly.

Leo remained in the same spot. In a moment, his expression reverted to its usual state. He wore a gentle yet distant coldness, suppressing a hint of defiance.

Mia returned to the banquet hall, downed a glass of wine, and then started scanning the crowd for targets.

I heard Ericko’s here today. Judging by Maggie’s current situation, it might be inconvenient for her to ask Ericko for anything.

After all, the relationship between the Camerons and Adams is pretty strained.

But I’m different–I have no grievances with the Adams!

Besides, Ericko’s so handsome and refined, and he always buttons his shirt to the top.

Shortly after, Mia ran into Ericko, who was intercepted by Emma.

Ericko wore a white shirt with a silver–gray waistcoat, without a jacket on. The top button of his shirt was indeed fastened, just as Mia had anticipated. His demeanor was polite and gentle, exuding flawless charm.

Emma looked nervously at Ericko, her cheeks involuntarily flushing.

Though Ericko had never embarrassed her, he had never given her hope either.

“Ericko, I got you this fountain pen. Please accept it. You may have heard about what happened at the auction just now, but please don’t misunderstand. Ignore Mia’s ramblings; she’s crazy,” Emma spoke cautiously, her eyes holding a glimmer of hope.
