Chapter 225 Even If Maggie Isn’t Around

Mia quickly pointed the finger at Sierra.

Hearing this, Sierra lost control, wanting to charge forward. “You b*tch! You tricked me! You b*tch, I’ll get you! I’ll get you!”

Sierra was trembling with fury. She had only made a guess. After all, she figured such valuable jewelry could only come from Mia.

“Oh, is that the stupid Ms. Cameron? Did you really think with your clumsy looks, someone would secretly fancy you? Or did you think some stroke of luck would come your way, and someone with poor judgment would take interest in you?”

Seizing the chance, Mia taunted in a sarcastic tone, seeming eager to cause trouble, leaving Sierra seeing

“Y–You b*tch!”

Sierra gripped Joseph’s clothes tightly, feeling a bit weak.

Mia grinned. her lips curling. “Why are you blaming me now? Didn’t you like that necklace when you saw it? It’s a shame I couldn’t capture the look of your naive eyes.”

Sierra was so furious that she passed out.

“Sierra!” Olivia rushed forward, tears streaming down her face.

I don’t understand. Everything was fine before; how did it come to this all of a sudden?

Ronald stayed quiet, feeling like he’d been slapped in the face by such rude mockery. His darkened significantly.

Maggie looked embarrassed and annoyed, whispering to Ronald, “Dad…”

expression

Hearing this, Mia raised an eyebrow. “Oh, Mr. Cameron’s there too. Not to be rude, but it seems you’ve spoiled Sierra. She’s so arrogant now, even in front of me.

“If you want justice for Sierra, that’s fine. Just tell me directly if you have anything to say. I pride myself for being reasonable.”

Ronald said firmly, “Mia, the Camerons have never wronged you before, and you’ve always been friends. with Maggie

“Enough. I don’t want to talk about this anymore. If you want to talk about the good old times, call my dad another day. If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.”

With that, she hung up without letting Ronald speak again.

Maggie frowned. “Dad, Mia has crossed the line this time. Shouldn’t we stand up for Sierra?”

Ronald was at a loss for words.

He looked at Maggie’s frustrated face and dissatisfaction and could only say, “No need. Although Mia is

“Dad, I get it. I’ll maintain a bond with the Gatlins. Usually, I get along fine with Mia. She’s easily pleased. But Sierra…”

Maggie hesitated, but she knew Ronald’s stance.

He had to swallow this, whether he wanted to or not.

The

merons couldn’t afford to make enemies with the Gatlins. Besides, Jordan cherished his daughter more than anything and was unwilling to see her suffer even a little.

Ronald sighed, feeling resigned as he saw her understanding. There was a hint of weariness in his eyes as he said softly, “I’m useless. Because of me, you had to swallow your pride over and over.”

Shortly after Maggie returned to her room, Ronald, Master Cameron, and Noah went into the study together.

Maggie had Lucas watch the corridor, knowing they were likely discussing their next move.

But there were no cameras in the study, so Maggie struggled to hear their conversation.

After thinking for a moment, Maggie took out a bug given to her by Lucas from her bag, brewed a pot of tea downstairs, and headed to the study.

The study was well soundproofed. She hesitated at the door for a few seconds, almost unable to hear a thing.

“Dad,” Maggie said as she rapped on the door.

Not long after, Noah stepped forward, swinging open the door with a smile on his chubby face. “Maggie’s here, he announced.

“Hey, Uncle Noah, Dad, Grandpa,” Maggie greeted each of them as she entered.

While pouring tea, Maggie voiced her concerns. “Dad, what’s the plan now? I just checked online, and Luster Corporation’s reputation has hit rock bottom…”

Actually, it’s terrible, with criticism pouring in from all sides.

Ronald sighed, realising her purpose. Things aren’t looking good at home right now. We’re brainstorming solutions,” he explained.

“I feel like continuing to invest is too risky. But if we sit back and do nothing, all our hard work will go to waste. I’m at a loss for what to do next,” Maggie admitted.

As she spoke, Maggie sneakily tossed the bug into one of Ronald’s lush green plants.

Ronald usually tended to the plants himself. But with its broad leaves covering the soil, it would likely go unnoticed for a while.

“It’s not just you; we’re all, uncertain about our next steps.” Master Cameron sighed, reclining in his chair.

Alone in her room, Maggie locked the door and powered on her computer.

“Ronald, what do you think? Did Maggie come in because she genuinely worried about Luster Corporation, or was she digging for information?” Master Cameron asked, his tone serious.

Ronald stayed quiet for a moment, feeling a pang of annoyance. “Let’s wait and see. I never thought my own kids would turn out this way, while Phillip’s daughter is doing so well!” he grumbled.

Noah joined in. “The Camerons‘ situation is quite tricky, but it can be solved. If Maggie marries Mr. Harris, our problems will likely disappear.”

Master Cameron agreed. “That’s right. I didn’t expect her to actually win Mr. Harris over! If she marries him, we’ll have a few years to strategize. Even if Maggie isn’t around in the future, the Harrises will still respect our past relationship and give us some consideration.”

Listening to Master Cameron’s words, Maggie furrowed her brows, her eyes narrowing.

If I’m not around in the future?

What does Master Cameron mean by that?

Do the Camerons plan to murder me, or have they started having this thought long ago?

Or is it something else entirely?

And why a few years? What else am I unaware of?

Maggie held her breath, then heard Ronald sigh. “I hope that would happen, but dealing with the Harrises won’t be easy!”

Noah added, “Even if she doesn’t marry into the Harrises, she still has a chance if she understands Nathael’s intentions. Ronald, you need to work on fostering a strong relationship with her and ensure her loyalty to the Camerons.”
