Chapter 243 You’re Always Stunning

Maggie paused, her words measured and deliberate. “I simply wasn’t ready, and I never anticipated it happening this soon.”

She fixed her gaze on Nathael, her confidence faltering as she worried about his reaction, unsure if he would be pleased.

“It’s merely a meeting. There’s no need to feel burdened,” Nathael reassured gently.

Upon hearing his words, Maggie cast her gaze downward, her silence enveloping the room.

She understood that her response appeared excessively emotional. If she persisted in refusing, it could trigger his suspicions.

Oh, such a dilemma.

What course of action should I take?

I hate the Camerons! How come they are still alive!

They will like you,” Nathael spoke in a deep voice, his gaze unwavering and confident.

Lost in contemplation, Maggie scarcely heeded his words.

Noticing her distraction, Nathael rose from his seat and approached her, his voice low as he inquired, “What’s occupying your thoughts?”

Maggie suddenly returned to the present moment and asked, “Should I bring a present for the first encounter? What would be suitable to buy?”

Nathael leaned against the table, his gaze fixed on her with deep concentration.

She possessed a fair and delicate complexion with vibrant, watery eyes that exuded both liveliness and mischief. Despite her striking beauty, a hint of unapproachable aloofness lingered in her expression, irresistibly captivating those around her.

Nathael affectionately reached out and pinched her cheek, teasingly murmuring, “If you genuinely don’t wish to attend, I’ll refuse on your behalf.”

Remembering the look on Clara’s face during their earlier conversation, Maggie sighed softly. She shook her head and declared, “Let’s proceed with the meeting. However, if I falter, you must come to my aid.”

Upon hearing this, Nathael offered a faint smile and replied, “Certainly.”

Maggie remained largely silent. In her past life, Nathae’s mother hadn’t taken a shine to her. Now, in this fresh start, she was keen to avoid any initial missteps.

Furthermore, she could discern his eagerness.

Refusing to attend would be akin to challenging the elders, a move fraught with unwise implications.

Even if their futures didn’t align romantically, Maggie was adamant about sparing Nathael from any potential conflict between herself and his mother.

Once she resolved to attend, Maggie’s worries dissipated. Realising she hadn’t even eaten, she stood abruptly and said, “I must return home briefly, I don’t have any clothing options here. Should I

another styling appointment?”

“What are your mom’s preferences? Does your dad like tea? Are we expecting other guests?”

Anxiously, she inquired as she rummaged through the meager selection of clothing available at Nathael’s house.

With the meeting scheduled for the afternoon and time slipping away, she hadn’t even begun to prepare.

Tarrange for some brands that match your taste to deliver their newest collections to my house. You can select what you prefer, and if you require a stylist, I’ll arrange for one to visit you as well.”

His gentle tone and calm demeanour had a calming effect on Maggie’s frazzled nerves.

However, upon hearing this, Maggie hesitated again. “Would it be too much to have a stylist?”

Considering it’s not a formal occasion and she typically styles herself for such events, it might be deemed unnecessary. If it’s merely a casual family gathering, it may not be fitting.

Nathael drew closer. gently cradling her face in his hands, and in the depths of his dark eyes, her reflection shimmered. “Nevertheless, you’re always stunning, he murmured.

Maggie’s cheeks tinged with a faint blush. She whispered softly, “Don’t try to charm me now, and certainly don’t attempt to flatter me at this moment.”

Such actions would only cause me to lose my composure!

Thirty minutes later, representatives and attendants from numerous well–known brands arrived at Nathael’s villa with their latest merchandise.

Seated on the sofa, Maggie observed as the representatives and attendants showcased and elucidated the products to her.

With time pressing, she promptly conveyed her preferences.

Ultimately, she selected a delicate pink satin off–shoulder gown crafted from luxurious silk satin. Its dignified and uncomplicated design radiated elegance when worn.

It struck a balance between opulence and appropriateness.

The gently draping shoulder sleeves lent a hint of vivacity and allure.

After settling on the dress, Maggie focused on her makeup and grooming. After careful consideration, she opted against hiring a stylist.

Ultimately, she reasoned that if she were dissatisfied with the stylist’s efforts, she would need to make alterations, which would be overly burdensome.

She fussed over her appearance in front of the mirror, while Nathael, already attired in his suit, sat on the sofa, attentively listening as the brands presented their attire.

“Let’s keep all of these pieces. Some can go in the wardrobe, and we’ll stash a few seasonal styles in the bedroom.” Nathael said.

For almost two hours, he attentively absorbed the presentations from numerous top brands showcasing this season’s women’s apparel and handbags. He also finalised a deal to acquire a

substantial amount of jewellery before selecting a set to gift to Maggie.

As the waiter arrived with the jewellery, Maggie had just completed her preparations.

As the moment approached, she gazed at her reflection in the mirror, her heart quickening its pace and an inexplicable nervousness settling within her.

It marked her inaugural encounter with his family in such a formal and solemn manner.

She remained uncertain whether Clara would approve of her in this lifetime.

The reflection before her was captivating, featuring long hair cascading like seaweed in the ocean, a petite face as delicate as spring dawn, softly arched eyebrows, and a serene yet aloof aura, akin to a luminous moon amidst a mountain stream or a snow lotus atop a mountain peak.

“Ms. Adam, this is a gift from Mr. Harris,” the gloved saleswoman announced as she knocked and entered, presenting a set of jewellery.

Maggie’s surprise was palpable, her eyes widening as they fixated on the jewellery displayed before her.

Nathael had opted for a jewellery set featuring aquamarine as its primary gemstone, consisting of a necklace boasting a modest design and a prominent aquamarine centrepiece.

The ensemble also included a princess–style bracelet adorned with aquamarine and diamonds, along with mismatched earrings of varying lengths.

The saleswoman eagerly assisted Maggie in adorning the jewellery. When she gazed at her reflection in the mirror, she couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows in surprise.

Truly, jewellery possessed a captivating allure, capable of bestowing a luminous glow and enhancing one’s beauty.

“What’s your verdict?” Nathael strolled in, fixing his gaze on Maggie.

Maggie turned to look at him and smiled. “What’s your opinion, Mr, Harris?”

Caught in her gaze, Nathael found himself momentarily lost in her beauty. Her subtle makeup and composed demeanour evoked memories of unrequited first loves from their student days. Yet, as she returned his gaze, there was a gentleness in her eyes that stirred something deep within him. An irresistible pull drawing him closer.

“Absolutely stunning,” he remarked, his lips forming a smile while his eyes gleamed with amusement.

With the saleswoman tactfully exiting the room, Nathael approached Maggie. Unable to resist her allure, he gently lifted her up and seated her on the dressing table. His dark eyes lingered on her pale cherry lips as he whispered softly, “I fear we may be running behind schedule…

Maggie was momentarily taken aback, her eyes darting to the clock on the wall. “Are we running late?”

Before she could complete her inquiry, Nathael leaned in and tenderly pressed his lips against hers, enveloping her in a tender embrace.

He longed to witness her adorned in bridal attire.
