Ball dancing

I can’t believe he just said that, I was in total shock. Does he consider me a puppet? I stared at him in amazement, I’m sure he thinks he can control me as he does with the girls he meets regularly. That’s not me, I’m not doing that.

“you don’t get to tell me what I can and can’t do, it’s a free world. I’m not your girlfriend and I’ve done what you needed of me. You left me out there, feeling awkward and I had all these people on me like they were about to rip me open and eat me inside out. I saw Aaron and he kept me company so I had to have fun. At least, someone noticed that I was there and kept me company, made me feel important and you didn’t” I said walking towards him and my fingers pointed at him.

“so stop acting shocked at my behaviour because this is all because of you!” I stopped and said, “besides, what’s wrong with a little bit of fun?

“Wow, you think that’s fun right?” I rolled my eyes

“yes, of course you think so. I’m sure you act so nice to everyone”

“wait, what? How can you be so daft? That’s the best you could come up with?” I looked down, hurt at his words

“you know what? Come to closer Cayden” he slowly moved closer to me then I placed my hands on his shoulder

“I need to tell you something and I mean it from the bottom of my heart Cayden, FUCKOFF!!!” I exclaimed and stormed out of the bathroom. He was in shock. I went back inside with a bright smile.

I saw Aaron and walked up to him, he was amid other ladies

“hey there handsome” I placed my hands on his shoulders and he turned around, smiling sheepishly

“Hey Lily, so wheres the man that’s always hovering around you every time we try to have a good time?”

“He’s somewhere around, sulking that I’m spending time with you” I placed my index finger on his chest and took it to my hair, twirling it”

“Nice”

Cayden came out and our eyes jammed. He walked over to a sit and watched me

“do you want to dance?” I asked Aaron, already dragging him to the dance floor

“I guess there was no need to ask then”

He drew me into a close embrace, there was 80’s r&b music playing over the large speakers; some hung from the ceiling like chandeliers and the rest sat on the floor called subs.

“so, what’s the deal with you and Cayden?”

“What do you mean? I asked

“You know, Cayden says you’re together but I can see through the lie. I need to know what the deal is anyway because I want you. He raised my face which previously laid on his shoulders to meet his face. I looked boldly into his eyes.

“I know I can treat you better than he does, give you more than he can. I see that he doesn’t value your presence as much as I do, I can change that” his hands slid further down my back, bringing me closer to him. I could smell his cologne. It smelt very expensive and arrogant.

More people started trooping in on the dance floor and I had to exchange dance partners at some points. Another man that came to dance with me started flirting too. He was way older than me but I loved what it was doing to Cayden, his face was red and boiling with anger. He walked up to a girl in a green astonishing dress and asked her to dance, and she agreed. More people came to dance with me, giving me so many compliments and flirting. They knew that I was Cayden’s girlfriend but the fact that I wasn’t acting like it and having a good time with Mr Aaron gave them the idea that I was free to mingle with whoever I wanted to.

I got back to dance with Aaron and it was the real dance began:

We began waltzing around, hands locked together. My body was a bit stiff as I had not done it before. I could feel his every breath on me.

Whenever he felt discomfort, he changed the style to make sure I was okay but I knew he was just doing this for the stares it got him. So was I anyway, everyone’s eyes were on us. I followed his every step leading me into the perfect move that I forgot about the eyes and was just really enjoying myself with a man that knew how to dance and impress a lady.

Somehow, I wanted Cayden to have been the one I was doing this with but he was too proud to even apologize or be a man towards me. Aaron slowly danced with me, staring into my eyes and I’m sure by now, his cologne was all over me. He twirled me around him and I did the same to him, then he walked to my front and took a bow. The music ended. I turned towards Cayden and saw him approaching me.

“What are you doing Lily? You’re messing this up for me! I don’t even know why I carried you along with me here, you’re of no good to me!” He took me by the hand, grabbed my purse and took me outside. There were lesser eyes there.

“Why aren’t you behaving yourself? You’re just so set out to destroy me and it’s pathetic! I can barely face you right now”
