Love is the Sunshine

Chapter 349 I Don’t Believe You

Chapter 349 I Don’t Believe You

Noah laughed hard and looked away. He focused his eyes on the road ahead and then said in a low

voice, "I don't trust you, Carla."

Caught unguarded, Carla bit her bottom lip for a second and cleared her throat. She badly needed to

rebut. Thus, she answered, "The feeling is mutual."

She quickly turned away from Noah and didn't dare to look at him anymore.

Noah's laughter went louder with what she said. He gave her a glimpse and added, "I don't trust you.

Just like now. I don't believe that you are not here for him. It's just that I can't turn you down.

And do you know what's worse?

Although I know that I can't trust you, I can't control my heart from believing you. Uncertain trust is

dangerous."

Carla was speechless for a second. Blinking her eyes, she smiled and asked, "So you're saying that

you're still believing me, right?"

Her eyes were clear and gorgeous. Thus, Noah couldn't help but look at her one more time. He

withdrew one of his hands from the steering wheel and then held her hand. He replied in a tender

voice, "I don't care about what happened in the past. I love you now. That's the only thing I'm certain

about."

It was the basic reason why he could tolerate all her behaviors.

Lifting the corners of her lips, Carla didn't say anything. She discreetly pulled her hand from Noah's

hold instead and then looked out of the car's window. Lost in her thoughts, she unconsciously held her

chin.

She was smiling with her eyes glimmering. However, only she knew that she wasn't happy at all.

She might have Noah's love but she didn't love Noah the same way.

Love was always a selfish thing anyway. She could just sense that she and Noah were heading for a

tragedy.

The scenery outside the car was passing by like a panorama. It was about an hour later that they

reached HA City.

Meanwhile, in JA City, Terence just sent Rena home.

However, Rena wouldn't let go of Terence.

She had him locked inside her arms as if someone would steal him any time.

"Shall we visit your house, Terence?"

Hearing the woman, Terence patted her shoulder to comfort her. He then replied, "It's too late. You

need to get inside now or your parents would get worried."

Displeased with his answer, Rena lowered her sight, landing on Terence's lips. She requested in a timid

voice, "Fine. Kiss me and I'll leave."

Terence furrowed his eyebrows slightly. It was good that no one noticed how his expression changed

for a while. Then, as if obliged, he lowered his head and kissed Rena on her forehead. "Done. Go

home now."

"No! Not on the forehead. Here!"

Rena protested and pointed to her lips. She was clearly dissatisfied with what Terence did. It was

obvious that she wouldn't get out of the car unless he did what she wanted.

"Ahem." Rainer broke the embarrassing moment by faking a cough. He checked the time and then

reminded, "You promised Mr. Nicholas that you would visit him this evening, Mr. Terence."

Left with no choice, Rena slowly removed her arms around Terence and opened the car door

sluggishly. She wasn't happy at all. She couldn't even believe how this night ended up. "I'll text you

later, okay? Remember to check your phone once you get home."

"Sure. Goodnight." After Terence said goodbye to Rena, who had gotten out of the car, Rainer

immediately drove the car away.

A deep sigh escaped Terence's chest as soon as Rena was out of sight. Thank goodness that he didn't

need to pretend anymore. He suddenly looked drained.

Noticing that, Rainer passed a towel to him. Terence quickly grabbed the towel and wiped his lips hard.

His fingers were gripping the towel hard as if he was dumping all his frustrations on it.

"Mr. Terence, should I send the painting to Mr. Nicholas now?" asked Rainer. It was too late to interrupt

Nicholas, who must be sleeping already by that time. The only reason why he had said they would visit

the old man was to give Terence an excuse to leave as soon as possible.

Terence just coldly looked at Rainer upon hearing him. He was clearly annoyed.

Rainer didn't dare talk anymore and chose to shut his mouth.

"You know what, Rainer? The Seaview Villa gets this perfect place for the painting. How about we put

the painting there temporarily? We can just wait for the right time to send it later?"

said Nathan as he tried to lighten the ambiance inside the car.

"Yeah. You are right,"

Rainer answered while wiping the sweat off his forehead. He could still remember how Carla bid for the

painting. It was the reason why Terence went all out in the auction. It was clear that Terence only

wanted the painting because Carla loved it. He took it because he wanted to show her how he would

give it to another woman. However, it was more than obvious now that he couldn't betray Carla at all.

He didn't even let Rena touch the painting once.

On the other hand, Nathan already knew all about it before. That was why he couldn't help but roll his

eyes when he heard Rainer ask about the painting earlier. He just couldn't believe how stupid Rainer

was sometimes.

Terence took a shower as soon as they arrived at the Seaview Villa.

There were a couple of new messages on his phone when he stepped out of the bathroom.

Most of them were from Rena. It even included two selfies of her in nothing but a bath towel. Along with

the pictures were pink hearts and a good night message.

Terence immediately deleted the selfies without any hesitation. Wiping his hair, he sat down on the

couch and opened another message.

"Could you give me half a year please?"

It was from Carla. Terence froze for a while as he couldn't move his eyes away from his phone screen.

Eventually, he replied with two words, "No way."

At HA City, Carla just arrived home.

She had taken a shower and was lying on her stomach on the bed. She was thinking about what

Terence had said earlier. She couldn't sleep.

Although she was certain that her thoughts were unlikely to happen, she still couldn't stop worrying

about it. What would she do if it did?

It was then that a message arrived on her phone. She picked it up and saw Terrence's reply.

Frustrated about what she read, she decided to persuade him. However, texting him would take a lot of

time. Thus, she dialed his number instead.

She realized that her number was still on his blacklist. She couldn't get through the line at all.

"Terence, there must be other solutions, right?"

Carla texted him again. She was stuck staring at her phone for a while as she waited for his reply.

However, the phone didn't receive anything anymore.

Three hours later, Carla was already pissed off. She threw her phone away and then went straight to

sleep.

She woke up with dark shadows around her eyes the next day.

Needless to say, she didn't sleep well at all.

Noah was waiting for her downstairs. He had planned to eat breakfast with her and go to the company

with her later.

On the way to the company, Carla fell asleep. Thinking about Terence marrying another woman

tortured her too much. She couldn't even keep her eyes closed last night.

Nonetheless, it was clear to her that she should undo her engagement with Noah first. More so, she

had to be sure that the Hua Group wouldn't suffer from her decision at any cost.

She forced herself to calm down at the moment as she needed to think of a resolution.

She couldn't afford to lose Terence in her life. Otherwise, she would hate herself forever.

But then, the most urgent thing to her now was to earn Noah's trust.

The man's trust was essential to her plan.

She just couldn't do what she needed to without him.

The world was unfair. Noah used her first. Hence, Carla didn't feel bad about her plan at all.

They were already at the underground parking lot of the Hua Group when Carla woke up. The moment

she opened her eyes, she noticed her head leaning against Noah's shoulder.

Moreover, Noah didn't wake her up and just let her sleep beside him.

"Are you awake? Let's go. We're already late for ten minutes,"

said Noah upon feeling her move.

"What? Oh, God! Why didn't you wake me up? It's my second day for work but I'm late. This doesn't

look right!" Carla rubbed her hair in a hurry upon hearing Noah. She grabbed her bag in a hurry and

then got out of the car. Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

She hadn't revealed her real identity yet as the legal heir of the Hua Group. Thus, her colleagues only

knew her as a regular employee. She was scolded by her leader that day for being late.

She went to the restroom and washed her face with cold water right after coming out of her leader's

office.

Then she raised her head and looked at herself in the mirror.

"You are very gutsy. It's your second day here and you dare to be late. The rest of us have even

considered coming to work an hour earlier. How dare you be late?

What? Are you looking down upon your job? If you are so outstanding, then why don't you go to better

departments?

Don't forget that you are just from BH City, a small place. You are lucky enough to get into the Hua

Group. Face it."

The person talking was Wendy, one of her colleagues. She was obviously displeased with Carla being

late for work.

Carla didn't say anything about Wendy's words. She got no plans of bringing more trouble to herself.

Thus, she took a piece of tissue and silently wiped the water off her face. She then walked out of the

restroom silently.

Since she was late today, she worked harder to make up for the time. She almost did all the work of her

department this morning.

She even ended up sending water to other departments.

It was only after she sent the water that she sat on her spot.

However, Wendy came in and pointed to another pail of water even before Carla could rest. "Since I

can see that you are utterly tired right now, I brought you another cushy job.

Mr. Noah's office is out of water. Go send it."
