Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 209

Chapter 209

Meanwhile, Merry woke up in Bland's apartment, feeling like she had been handed a golden ticket. Sleeping in her idol's place had her too excited to catch much sleep, and now she found herself waking up way past 10 a.m. She buried her face into the pillow, not ready to start the day just yet.

Even though the sheets had been changed, the room still carried the unique scent of her idol. Merry inhaled deeply, reminiscing about the previous night...

Riding back with Floyd, the anticipation of staying at her idol's house had her buzzing with excitement. Thankfully, Floyd kept the conversation going, which helped distract her a bit.

What were they talking about again?

Oh, right. Floyd had asked about Yates' life in Greenmeadow over the years.

Merry had known Yates since they were kids but only really got to know him in high school. Back in middle school, she only knew he went through a rough patch, seeming a bit lost and down.

Thinking back, it felt like Floyd was probing, trying to dig into Yates' past.

Out of curiosity, Merry had asked, "Yates is an amazing quarterback, why don't you recruit him for the team?"

Floyd's expression darkened a bit as he kept his eyes on the road, then let out a self-deprecating chuckle, "Guess I don't measure up anymore." Merry wanted to press further, but seeing his troubled look, she hesitated. Still, she ventured, "You're pretty lucky, you know. After that crash, everyone was affected one way or another, but you walked away without a scratch. The Eagles would've been history without you."

Floyd didn't respond.

As Merry was about to change the subject, they arrived at Bland's place.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

The moment she saw her idol, all thoughts of gossip vanished. Her eyes lit up as she got out of the car. Floyd, being the gentleman, got out and handed her luggage to Bland.

To avoid paparazzi, Bland had masked up, making Floyd unable to recognize him immediately. As he handed over the luggage, Floyd said, "Got your girlfriend here safe and sound!"

Merry's heart nearly leaped out of her throat at the word 'girlfriend'!

Before she could clarify, Bland casually took the luggage and thanked Floyd.

After the men exchanged a few words, Floyd left, and Merry, heartbeat racing, followed Bland into the elevator.

The elevator, cozy due to its design for single households, was filled with Bland's subtle cologne, intoxicating Merry with a sense of bliss she hadn't known before.

As she dreamt of the future, a chuckle snapped her back to reality. Bland, now outside the elevator, was looking at her with a twinkle in his eyes. “Girlfriend, aren't you coming out?” he teased.

Merry was speechless.

Inside Bland's apartment, she remained stunned by the 'girlfriend' comment, watching as Bland made himself busy preparing the guest room for her. After a while, he called her in. Merry entered to find him fluffing a duvet, apparently fresh with a new cover. She blurted out, "You... you do household chores?"

His response was a playful mimic of her earlier astonishment at seeing him perform such mundane tasks. “I also eat, shower, and get dressed by myself. Surprised?"

Merry's eyes widened, "You shower by yourself?"

She couldn't help but imagine her idol in the shower, recalling a magazine photo of his chiseled chest. The thought of water cascading down his muscles...

Bland interrupted her thoughts, "You're bleeding."

Merry quickly covered her nose, "Really? How embarrassing! Where are the tissues?"

Spotting the tissues, she wiped her nose and realized... she wasn't actually bleeding. Her idol was teasing her!

Bland chuckled, "Alright, get some rest."

He started to leave, donning his mask and sunglasses. As he opened the door, Merry couldn't help but ask, "You're not staying here?"

Bland turned back, "...No, I might not be able to resist sneaking in and devouring you in the middle of the night."

Merry's heart pounded wildly. Seeing her flushed face, Bland smiled, "Just kidding. I have a night shoot and need to head back."

Merry buried her face in the pillow, mortified she forgot to ask Bland about the girlfriend' comment. She grabbed her phone but hesitated to text him directly. Instead, she messaged Cordelia: "Ahhh, Lia, I'm dying!" Content belongs NovelDrama.Org

Meanwhile, Cordelia's phone buzzed unnoticed in her bag at school. At the classroom door, Lucille and Waldron watched enviously as their classmates filed out, wishing they could join the buzz of activity.

Reaching the pinnacle in mathematics often means selecting a specific area to dive deep into.

Lucille and Waldron were just substitute teachers, never really diving deep into a specific field of study.

They, like many others, were eager to rub elbows with an expert like Frankie. Just a few words of wisdom from such a guru could dramatically shape their future.

After a while, the crowd parted for an older gentleman in his sixties, making his way through - Frankie. He glanced towards the exam venue and asked, "Are all the students currently taking their tests?

The head of Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp nodded, "Yes, that's correct."

Suddenly, Frankie turned on his heel and made his way towards the exam area.
