Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 214

Chapter 214

Daisy's voice filled the room the moment she walked through the door, catching the attention of a new guy who had just entered. He paused in his tracks, his gaze landing on her.

Maybe it was his habit of pulling all-nighters, but the dark circles under his eyes were pronounced, giving him a perpetually sleep-deprived appearance.

"Hey, Zack, what's the hold-up?" one of his dorm mates nudged him from behind, breaking his trance.

Zack adjusted his thick-rimmed glasses and replied, "Thought I heard someone call my name just now."

"Who? Dreaming much? Desperate for a girlfriend, are you?"

"Shut up, man!"

They shared a laugh and continued towards the back of the classroom, where the atmosphere was quieter. This was a room filled with top achievers, where everyone naturally kept their voices low to avoid disturbing others.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

As they passed by, Keen, who had just finished his lunch and packed away his meal prep box, cast a sidelong glance at Everard.

Boyfriend...

Keen had stumbled upon Cordelia's social media page once, featuring a photo of a couple holding hands. Curious, he'd followed Cordelia's school's community board and seen a candid shot of her boyfriend posted there.

The guy in front of him matched the photo he'd seen, but according to Cordelia's classmates, her boyfriend wasn't named Jack, nor was he a student. Apparently, a student had clarified that the man was Cordelia's sugar baby.

Keen frowned in thought. So, was this guy a fake?

He did look the part-handsome, capable of crafting a persuasive apology letter, seemingly Cordelia's type...

Keen decided to follow when Everard and his friend settled down, then approached them. "Hey, mind if I sit here?" he asked.

Jack blinked in surprise. "Sure!"

Despite their academic focus, keen to excel in math competitions for a shot at prestigious colleges, Keen's reputation preceded him. The idea of a top student wanting to sit with them was too good to pass up.

The classroom filled up quickly after lunch.

Students scattered to available seats, the layout too vast to maintain the morning's arrangements. It was an environment where the addition of one person went unnoticed.

After her meal, Cordelia tidied up and sat beside Everard, intrigued by his apology letter. "You're really good at this. How come?" she asked. "Ah," Everard replied, his focus on the letter as if it were second nature, "wrote a lot of them as a kid."

Cordelia blinked, puzzled. Everard always seemed a bit aloof, yet in the company of Little Fang or Sanderson Delaney, he was nothing but composed.

Despite only being a café owner, there was an air about him that commanded respect. It was hard to imagine him as a child constantly in trouble. Everard caught Cordelia's continued gaze and smiled. "As a kid, I was a bit of a terror. At first, my teachers would call my parents. Eventually, my dad got tired of it and told them to deal with me as they saw fit. They couldn't really hit me, so... I ended up writing a lot of apology letters."

Cordelia shifted the topic, "How did you know we had a Zack in our class?"

"I didn't," Everard confessed.

Cordelia paused, then realized Everard had made a random guess based on popular names. It was Lucille who had filled in the blanks.

As they chatted, Cordelia couldn't help but notice how Everard stood out in the daylight-his pale skin, prominent nose, and thin lips giving him a distinctive, handsome look.

The classroom was unusually quiet,

with some students reading and others taking a quick nap. Two rows behind Cordelia, Queenie eyed the pair, wondering who the new guy was and why she hadn't noticed him before. Jealously, she lowered her head.

Nearby, Daisy and two other friends observed Cordelia and Everard, exchanging looks before quietly forming a chat group to gossip.

"Keen seems really into Jack, doesn't he? Does that mean no chance for our top student?"

"Though I ship them hard, it seems like a lost cause. Cordelia's already taken, after all."

"She barely paid Keen any attention this morning, but she can't take her eyes off Jack now. Poor Keen."

"Are we missing the real story here? I'm hesitant to say..."

"Spill it!"

"Doesn't it look like Cordelia's cheating? How can she do this?!"

The trio fell silent, stealing another glance at Cordelia and Everard before quickly looking away.

With minutes to spare before class, Everard handed Cordelia his completed letter-a well-penned

3,000-word reflection. But before et

letting go, he hesitated, then leaned in to whisper, "Hey, did Keen's gesture at lunch touch you in any way?"

Cordelia blinked, caught off guard by the question.

She blinked in confusion and finally spoke up, "Him coming to the classroom to eat lunch is breaking the rules, leaving the whole place smelling like food. Why should I be moved by that?"

Everard was perplexed.

Suddenly, it dawned on him that he didn't have to worry about any rivals in love-the kid herself was expertly warding them off!

He chuckled and affectionately ruffled Cordelia's hair, "No worries."

Daisy, who was watching this unfold, excitedly grabbed her roommate's hand, barely containing a shriek, Oh my gosh, the interaction between our top student and Sean is just too sweet!! The

head pat is just killing me!!" Content

As the bell signaling the start of class rang, Lucille stepped back into the classroom, first to collect Cordelia's written apology. Seeing that she had indeed finished it, she couldn't say much more.

Her gaze then fiercely shifted to Everard below. Suddenly, she called out, "Sean!"

Startled from his nap and named out of the blue, Sean jerked upright and stood up in a flash, "Present!"
