Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 221

Chapter 221

Everard finished speaking and gave a wink.

Cordelia ignored his flirtatious gesture, her eyes fixed on the book in her hands. She was revising her English vocabulary in the morning and now solving challenging math problems.

The Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp had loaded everyone with a heap of worksheets from day one, ensuring that running out of material was never

a concern.

Cordelia was deeply engrossed in her problem-solving when the classroom finally buzzed with some activity.

Queenie immediately sat up straight, her posture rigid with anticipation, as she eagerly turned towards the door. Moments later, Waldron entered the room with a few individuals in tow.

Dressed in uniform work attire, they carried voice recorders and notepads, seemingly ready to document something.

The room fell silent the moment they stepped in.

Even Queenie couldn't help but swallow hard, exclaiming, "Holy cow, isn't this a bit much?"

It felt like an overreaction for just dealing with a student. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

As Queenie aired her shock, the rest of the class began to panic.

Despite Queenie's warnings the day before, some had dismissed her concerns, thinking, how severe could the consequences be for just talking back to a teacher?

But the current scene had everyone swallowing nervously, with the student next to Queenie voicing out, "Isn't this taking it too seriously?" Queenie, with her chin held high and a smug look, replied, "See, I told you, the math department would never tolerate someone with Cordelia's low character!"

Nods of agreement followed her statement.

Keen furrowed his brows, saying, "Just talking back to a teacher isn't that serious, is it?"

Queenie, growing tired of Keen's defense for Cordelia, retorted, "A nerd like you should just keep quiet. Since when is disrespecting a teacher not a big deal? You might think it's nothing now, but it leads to disobedience and eventually, harmful actions against society!"

Keen replied, "Queenie, one should not exaggerate. Cordelia talked back because the teacher insulted a student first. She didn't say anything too harsh."

Queenie angrily countered, "Calling a teacher inhuman isn't too far? You're overly biased!"

She continued, "Look at her, flirting with the guy next to her, totally inappropriate. And you're still defending her?"

Keen frowned, "Queenie, let's keep the conversation civil. We're all classmates here."

Before Queenie could retort, Waldron intervened, "Alright, everyone calm down. Today, the math department's officials are here for an inspection and to ask a few questions. Just answer them honestly."

Turning to the officials, Waldron urged, "Please, go ahead."

One of the officials, with a kind demeanor, began, "I'd like to ask about some issues concerning Lucille."

Queenie stood up, "I believe I'm

qualified to speak on this. Since day

Ret

one, Cordelia has been spreading superstitious beliefs, proclaiming herself as a 'Grade Genius' and encouraging others to 'absorb some of her luck, which is negatively

affecting our academic

atmosphere!"

Daisy quickly stood up, "That wasn't Cordelia's doing; it was me joking around. If I call you a lucky charm and touch you for luck, does that make me superstitious?"

Queenie sneered, "It's exactly that, and you're disrupting the learning environment."

She added, "Moreover, Cordelia openly defied a teacher during class!"

When asked if it was Lucille, Queenie affirmed.

Daisy tried to clarify, but Queenie cut her off, insisting that any form of disrespect towards teachers was unacceptable.

However, when the officials inquired about the reason behind the insult, Keen spoke up, "Because Lucille insulted a student first."

Keen stood, "Lucille has targeted

Cordelia multiple times. For example, making her stand during an exam for three hours over a misunderstanding and repeatedly insulting her. While Cordelia's

response was not approprier

the circumstances, it's

under

understandable. If Cordelia is to be expelled, then you'll have to expel me too."

Queenie, flustered, accused Keen of threatening the teachers, but he calmly explained it was merely an act of standing up for justice.

As the officials asked who was insulted, all eyes turned to Everard next to Cordelia.

Everard, with a lazy raise of his hand, nonchalantly said, "Oh, that would be me."

The staff member caught a glimpse of him, paused for a second, then scribbled on a notepad, "What's your name? And why did Lucille give you a hard time?"

Everard glanced at Sean and then uttered, "Sean."

After jotting down the name, the staff member nodded, about to say more, when Queenie couldn't hold back, "Aren't you here to look into what happened with Cordelia? Why all this fuss about Lucille? Cordelia's always acted too high and mighty at school - definitely not the type to be a team player in the math

competition!"

Before she could finish, the staff member interrupted with a puzzled look, "Who said anything about investigating Cordelia? We're here for Lucille, actually."

Queenie was utterly baffled, her face a canvas of confusion.

"You're what?!" she questioned in disbelief.

Investigating Lucille? Had they misspoken?
