Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 247

Chapter 247

Hearing that, Cordelia casually remarked, "Not too shabby."

Karl was speechless.

He opened his mouth, wanting to ask how many points she scored but hesitated, worried about embarrassing Cordelia. Just as he was wrestling with his thoughts, Yates blurted out, "How much did you get?"

Cordelia replied, "Three hundred and ten."

She nailed the bonus question too, so her total score was three hundred plus ten. But saying it that way felt a bit awkward, so she simply rounded it to three hundred and ten.

Karl was baffled.

Cordelia must not have done too well, right? Otherwise, why would she forget what she once said, that the perfect score was three hundred?

The score she casually mentioned exceeded that!

Karl started to speak, "The perfect score..."

Before he could finish, Clay tugged at his sleeve and shot him a warning glance: If Cordelia made up a score, let it be. Why dig deeper?! Isn't that even more embarrassing for her?!

Karl immediately caught Clay's drift and, though against his inner feelings, praised, "Not bad at all, that's a pretty good score!" Seeing their over-the-top reactions, Yates couldn't help but twitch his lips and asked, "Lia, isn't the perfect score three hundred?" Cordelia explained, "Oh, I got the bonus question right too, added ten points."

After saying that, she headed towards the training room.

Yates glanced at Karl and the others, their shocked faces amusing him as he proudly followed her in.

Floyd thought to himself... Cordelia scored a perfect score, what's there for you to act all proud about?

Soon, it was time for the finals.

Through their practice sessions, Cordelia began to embrace the spirit of teamwork. Karl was the team's jester, a bit short-tempered but his childish remarks always brought laughter.

Clay was more reserved.

Their top laner was the quiet type, not much for words.

As for Yates and Floyd, Cordelia got along with them well, experiencing for the first time in the game the reassurance of entrusting her back to her teammates.

Waller couldn't join them; his arm was out of commission, his presence in the team more for moral support now.

Karl, however, was tagging along with the coach to the venue, to soak in the experience.

The group matches were held in smaller venues, with fewer spectators, which didn't faze Cordelia as much as the coach had feared.

But today was different. They were in a stadium filled with thousands, a sea of faces in the vast auditorium.

The coach, worried, glanced at the two newcomers, Cordelia and Yates, thinking this massive crowd might intimidate them. Just as he was about to offer some words of comfort, he noticed-

Cordelia, flipping through an English vocabulary book, muttering words under her breath, not wasting a moment even as she walked.

Yates, on the other hand, showed no sign of nervousness. His rebellious red hair was tucked under a black cap, a mask hiding his expressions, but his eyes sparkled with excitement and anticipation for the battle ahead, as if he couldn't wait to jump into the fray.

The coach realized... perhaps, he was the one overthinking. How could these two possibly know the feeling of nervousness?

They entered the locker room.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Cordelia checked her phone and saw a message from Lorna: "Lia, I'm sitting in the VIP section with Everard. Can't wait to see you shine in the finals!" Lorna made it a point to attend today's final, and Everard had picked her up from the airport.

A gentle smile crossed Cordelia's face as she replied, "Okay."

Just before sending it, she paused, then added, "Okay, thanks, Mom."

She pocketed her phone right when members of the CM team headed to another locker room, their voices trailing off as they caught sight of the EW Club members.

Wade led the way, eyeing Yates and Cordelia, who had already put on her mask, "So, this is your new marksman? Why so secretive? Got a new look going on?"

Yates, having played a few group matches, and both new EW Club members preferred to compete anonymously, a topic that had already sparked discussions online.

Cordelia, too, was wearing a white cap and a gray mask, a suggestion from Floyd.

For one, it prevented Yates from standing out too much, and secondly, Cordelia wasn't keen on stirring up drama online.

After Wade's comment about Yates,

he turned to Cordelia, "And the girl, huh? You're playing mid, right? But why the mask? Take it off, let us have a look. It's okay if you're not a looker..."

The EW Club members frowned.

Floyd was about to respond when Cordelia inquired, "Who's this?"

Floyd answered, "CM's jungler, Wade."

"Ah," Cordelia said nonchalantly, "A defeated opponent."

Wade was taken aback.

"Not just because you almost turned the tables during a practice match. We weren't even trying! You really think you're something, huh?" Wade's face darkened.

Cordelia remained calm, "See you on the field."

Wade wanted to retort, but they were ushered out to prevent any conflict between the teams.

After Wade left, the top laner stood up, "I'll be right back."

Waiting around was tedious, so Cordelia resumed her study of English vocabulary.

In the midst of her study, Yates turned to Floyd, "Bro, after the match, you owe me the truth."

The truth?

Cordelia blinked, puzzled.

Before she could inquire further, a

commotion erupted near the restroom, where their top laner had just headed. The team hurried out to find their teammate pale with anger, and CM's Wade sporting a fresh

bruise. ne

A staff member made his way over, locking eyes with our top laner. "Esports players can't go around throwing punches, no matter the reason. You're benched for today's match!"

The staff member didn't drag the top laner away, though. The coach followed, trying to smooth things over, while Floyd approached our top laner, asking, "What's going on?"

Seizing a moment when no one was paying close attention, the top laner bolted towards Wade, aiming another punch at him!

But someone pulled him back just in time.

Furious, the top laner shouted, "Captain, the truth behind our car accident, it was all their doing. They rigged it!"

"What?"

Clay was livid!

The entire EW Club, both players and staff, glared at Wade, ready to leap into action at any moment!

But then, Floyd coolly revealed

Wade's scheme: "He spilled the beans on purpose right before the game, hoping to get us to throw punches and get the match called off. That way, CM would take the championship by default!"

That one statement brought everyone back to their senses.

Though still angry, they knew the game had to come first.

The top laner, now somewhat calmer, was bewildered: "But I've been benched. How are you going to play without me?"

"See you tomorrow, guys! Don't forget to support us with your votes and recommendations!"
