Love's Redemption

Redmption 105

Redmption 105

Truly, nothing ever escaped Brandon’s notice.

I stepped away from him and tried to alleviate the awkwardness. “You

overstepped just now. Conrad is my superior. How could you just assign work to him?”

“He’s a late–joiner. If I don’t assign work to him, are we going to wait for him to assign work to us?”

I couldn’t find any way to refute Brandon’s words.

Conrad was competent, but he didn’t understand the work that Brandon and were doing.

“Why? Do you want to team up with him?” Brandon suddenly asked.

“Not at all,” I denied, then looked at him. I caught a glimpse of a smile that disappeared quickly.

I worked with Brandon as usual, and Conrad didn’t come over again.

However, Kara rushed over and asked, “Maddie, what happened? Is Mr. Gildon here to monitor our progress?”

“Yes, and he’s going to focus on monitoring you. He’ll be on a team with you and participate in the testing.”

Kara’s eyes widened when she heard my words.

She immediately protested, “Maddie, that shouldn’t be! I don’t want to be on a team with Mr. Gildon! It’s better for you to team up with him. He would never be angry with any mistakes you made.”

“I don’t agree,” Brandon spoke up for me again.

Kara and I looked at him, but he didn’t look at either of us. He was still focused on his work, but he continued without missing a beat, repeating his words, “I don’t agree.

We didn’t expect him to give us such a reply. Kara looked at me while I pursed. my lips, trying not to laugh out loud.

“Maddie, look…”

Kara was about to speak up again, but Brandon said, “Ms. Crown, could you come up here and help me see if there’s any difference in the effect?” Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

I immediately went up the elevator. During the ride in the elevator, Kara was pouting grumpily.

The elevator stopped, and I walked up to Brandon. When I saw the content up there, I was taken aback.

“I insist on being in a team with you.”

Was this the content that he was working on?

I looked at him. “You…”

Brandon gave me a look as if he were daring me to agree to Kara’s requests.

1 laughed with exasperation. In the next second, the testing contents reverted

to normal. I stood beside him and watched him do testing with the control panel.

“Brandon, I think you’re a two–faced person,” I couldn’t help but tease him.

“What do you mean?” He looked at me after saying that.

His expression was serious. When I recalled that he was once a soldier, I felt like I might have misunderstood him. But thinking of how he acted since we met until now, I realized that he wasn’t as innocent as he looked.

Hence, I said, “You act like you’re prim and proper, but you’re actually rather sneaky and deceptive.”

“Me?” Brandon looked utterly confused. “Am I this kind of person in your eyes?”

“Are you not?” I retorted.

Brandon didn’t say anything but stare at me. Then, he fiddled with the control panel. A few seconds later, I felt the elevator start to sway.

I got scared and instinctively wrapped my arms around him.

Then, he said, “Ms. Crown, what are you doing? It’s not appropriate for others to see us like this.”

I shut my eyes as I clung to him for dear life. “Why is it swaying? Go check on it!

Little did I know, Brandon was looking at the figure below us. He put his arms around me and bent down to whisper, “Stop moving around, and it’ll stop

swaying.”
