Love's Redemption

Redmption 196

Redmption 196

Alpha Corporation.

Arthur Griffins.

I was familiar with both the company’s name and the dominant signature of the legal representative.

It was Gildon Corporation’s largest partner. Zack had a close relationship with Arthur. But why did my dad. have a contract with Alpha Corporation ten years ago?

AS

far as I knew, my dad wasn’t an employee of Gildon Corporation back then, so what was he doing with

the contract?

I checked the contract again. It was on new energy development, which now fell under Gildon Corporation running with a mature and profitable operation.

Technically, the contract belonged to the Gildon Corporation, but strangely enough, Zack’s signature

wasn’t on it. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

I set the contract aside and opened my father’s notebook.

It was a work diary mostly filled with work plans and some symbols I didn’t understand. I flipped through to the last page and saw the words. “Let’s hope the contract signing goes well.”

After that, there was nothing more.

It was probably after that my dad had his car accident.

I recalled what my dad had said the night before the accident. “Mae, I can build you a playground after)

tomorrow.”

I had excitedly hugged and kissed him without asking why.

Now, I understood. If he had signed the contract with Alpha Corporation ten years ago, his development would have been on par with the current Gildon Corporation.

He could have built a commendal empire, not just a playground.

Those were all ifs because of his death.

Could my

dad’s car accident be associated with the contract? Could it have been more than an accident? Chaotic thoughts flooded my mind, and they sent a chill down my spine. I slumped in the storage room, paralyzed for a while.

I eventually decided to investigate the matter myself, starting with Arthur from–Alpha Corporation.

I knew it wouldn’t be easy to meet him. Thanks to his close relationship with Zack, I overheard Zack and Bree talking about Arthur having bladder cancer a few years ago. He had retired to recuperate and left the -company to his son.

I could find out where Arthur was staying by asking Stewart Glover, Zack’s chauffeur. I could then visit Acthur under the pretense of checking on his health.

I was determined to act, but I knew asking Stewart directly would arouse suspicion.

Stewart had been with Zack for over a decade, even longer than I had been in the Gildon family. His long tenure meant that he was diligent and discreet, with the latter especially important.

I had to be crafty to get the information.

2/2

I researched all the top health and wellness centers in Hilcord and quickly narrowed it down to three possible locations. But I still needed Stewart’s help to pinpoint which one Arthur was at.

The best way to get Stewart’s help wouldn’t necessarily involve him speaking.

I came up with a plan after much thought.

I could borrow Stewart’s car and check the dashcam recordings since Zack visited Arthur every month.

It wasn’t an easy task to borrow the car. I had one, and if I asked for another, Zack would offer to give me a brand–new car instead. That was why I shouldn’t be making that request.

Conrad was the only person in the Gildon family who might need to borrow a car. He had just returned and didn’t have a car yet.

Although he could use any of the family cars, he could claim unfamiliarity with the roads and ask Stewart to take him, then send Stewart away.

With a plan in mind, I needed to approach Conrad, but I hesitated. Knowing how he felt about me, he would agree to my request, but it meant taking advantage of his feelings once again
